DAYS: Crazy stuff everyone seems to have forgotten.

Incredibly amazing? I wouldn't go that far. It was exciting for a while because you didn't know where the story was going or what would happen next, but the only good that came out of the first half of the storyline were the following:

1. Suzanne Rogers got to work again and turned in AMAZING performances, reminding old fans just how good she was and showing new ones that, when given material other than handing out menus, she is a powerhouse performer.

2. Deidre Hall was simply flawless. The scenes of her killing Doug were some of the best work she's done in her entire career.

+1

Umm, and this goes back to the early 90s, but it was ALWAYS JER that never 'got' these characters. Stefano, a formerly menacing character, was turned into a cartoon. Roman was written as a boring old fool with no charisma, as opposed to the hero he always was. Hope returned minus the spunk & the brains. Victor was written as a foolish weakling. Maggie wasn't written for AT ALL until he decided to kill her. Bo was written as a damn fool who chose BILLIE over the long-dead love of his life Hope (JER should thank his lucky stars that he had a master actor like RKK to pull that off). Mickey was written as a lawyer who NEVER won a case, yet the whole town continued to hire him. Abe was written as an uptight old goat to facilitate his slut wife's fantasies about screwing his brother, and later actually screwing his son. Jennifer was turned into a horny toad to accomidate her relationship with Peter Blake, a type of man that Jennifer Rose would never have looked twice at (just ask Glenn Gallagher). I could go on & on, but as a long-time fan, sorry, but JER NEVER 'got' DAYS & its characters. The only ones he wrote properly were his favorites- John & Marlena.

You couldn't be more wrong. This DAYS that we're seeing right now is the identity it had from 1965-1993, back when it was truly DAYS. While I do miss Marlena, THIS is the DAYS I grew up with & know & love.

 Or perhaps they have been watching longer than you have & have a better idea of what DAYS is actually about.

I LOVE Marlena. Always have, always will. I miss the hell out of her. But this is pretty much what DAYS was like while she was there before & while she was gone from '87-'91. Right now, the show is hot IMO and am more invested than I have been in many, many years.

I love Sweeney but Sami has been all over the place this past decade. After years of reforming into a mature, anti-heroine JER returned Sami to being a teenage schemer again who suddenly hated John again. Sheffer then instantly transformed Sami into the weepy tortured victim we see today. Sami needs an edge back.

I really hate now that Nick killing Trent Robbins was so utterly pointless now.

Really? It seems to me Days is trying to put together a very memorable memorial for Frances Reid and Alice Horton. How anyone can say that no one cared about Alice or Tom Horton is beyond me. You can talk about Marlena all you want but Alice Horton was the heart and soul of Days of Our Lives.

LMAO. So Doug, Julie, Alice, Bill, Mickey, etc. have no bearing to today?

Julie is Hope's sister.

Doug is Hope's father.

Alice was the matriach of the show.

Mickey died just 4 months ago.

And yet none of these characters have anything to do with today? You couldn't be more wrong.

IMO you sound like a bitter J&M fanboy/girl.

Marlena isn't DAYS, she just happens to be one of the more recognizable faces from the show. She isn't to DAYS like what Susan Lucci is to AMC.

Have you passed the fifth grade?

or

are you a republican?

Only the very young or the very misguided could show the type of ignorance you have in this thread. Start making sweeping statements when you have facts and maybe realize that 95% of the rest of us are here to discuss and make friends and you're being a TROLL.

Just because you don't like a show doesn't mean it's not that show. YOU haven't been given the divine right to speak things into existence.

Now, unless your anticipated reply involves something more than false indignation, the poor-me who's getting attacked for my opinions spiel, or really anything other than a solidly thought-out response that shows you're ready to come play with the big kids

you really should run along and watch your tapes, with a side of milk and cookies.

To everyone else: let's discuss around this person. Thumbing their nose and going neener neener neeer really just wants responses and by doing so we'd be enabling them.

IMO, any current character that would have no reason or place at Alice Horton's funeral is a character not worth having on the canvas at all. During these last final years of the show, let's just return to the core characters we care about... i.e. Mia's on her way out, let's kick off a few more unimportant teens and random thugs (Dr. Bloated Baker can go to Celebrity Fit Club or whatever-the-hell weight loss show there is for D-list celebs)

He really did! He will always be Craig Hunt to me and I loved Craig. Maybe that's why I like him now though.

What about Rex and Cassie? There are times when they are Kate's kids and other times when I'm not really sure Kate and Roman even remember them.
