I will not be watching this. P&G is so full of s-h-i-t. Cancel a legacy soap for this crap.

You know. They could have at least spent their money on bring ATWT to an online only soap.

:o Oh wow, I didn't even see that she was writing it, I worked with her once.

Perhaps you might star in this one too?

Nah. :P I didn't act for her, just worked on one of her plays, Eliot A Soldier's Fugue.

She was quiet and kind, passionate about celebrating her much loved culture in her art. This was before In The Heights which I'm sure lined her pockets rather nicely.

I am as angry as anyone over the canceling of ATWT ( there is life, and demos in the old girl yet if they would throw some money and talent at her) but it is not as if this is an either or thing. ATWT wasn't cancelled to make way for this show, they are almost two entirely different entities going for two different markets. I actually think this is an interesting way for P & G to stay in the soap business without too much money or time invested in it.

Actually, I think a soap built around a Latino family would be a natural progression for P & G, and I have no idea why they didn't incorporate an Hispanic family into their soaps, especially GL. A Latino crime family doesn't count, but I thought it would have been interesting to take someone like Rick and marry him to a Latina from a large, multi-generational family. For once it would make sense for one family with multiple generations living under one roof, just like when GL and ATWT started.

Is anyone going to comment on America Ferrera (!!!) staring in a Pedro & Maria (!!!!!) soap?! laie_hilarious.gif

Is that the lousiest telenovela concept ever or what?

I am still .

The article said that America is helping develop the project as a producer not that she is starring in it. I wouldn't be surprised if she agreed to come abroad so that the creative team could use her name to get the finances in place. I don't think that America is doing any more tv for awhile. She is going to focus on her movie career which I think that she should.

Wait I dont see the irony in America Ferrera playing someone named Maria??

and she's not IN the show I don't think, she's just helping to develop it?

I guess we are the only two. It's ok everyone else can throw stones and call us cry babies or whatever. If P&G really wanted to be in the soap business they would have done all they could have to save GL and ATWT and plain and simple they didnt. The show still continues to piss on the history of ATWT by featuring a character like Janet that most dont give two shits about by adding more family while the rest of the cast just sits and waits to see if they are going to be used before the shows' last episode.

Let's see how others feel when their show is gone. I won't be here to see it. Once ATWT is gone I am checking out of SON.

You both have a right to how you feel, don't let anyone tell you otherwise.

Don't go, I know I'll miss you :(

I have had soaps that I loved cancelled. I was a huge fan of Santa Barbara and Another World. It was disappointing, but in the end, the soaps weren't good any more and it really is only tv show. I'm done now.
