RHOA

A little bit better, but like above...I felt this episode was just...ok.

It's already starting off bad with Porsha going back to her old ways of trying to control the narrative. And as she would say herself WRONG ROAD, WRONG ROAD, WRRROONG RO. If this is how she's going to be after all of this time...then one of my feet will go ahead and be out the door. I didn't like it before she left, and my tolerance for it has only gotten lower since she's been gone. She should have learned...even with Production playing her as their favorite...that she cannot always have it that way. There will always be someone who can easily poke holes in her narrative. Last week it was newbie Kelli. This week it was Drew. And Drew ain't a newbie so regardless of Drew's deluded ways, Drew can build a case due to her having more authentic moments than Porsha. Also Drew has her fans. Wrong move. At least...for now...Drew ain't giving her what Porsha clearly wants...deflection off that divorce.

I felt the episode got better once it stopped focusing on the Trials of Porsha and focused on the fact this is an ensemble show. Shamea continued to be giving fashion and real story with her story with the surrogate. So did Kelli with her talk about her ex-husband and her trying to expand her business...which I actually liked as I am industry-adjacent. Meanwhile, we got a little bit more of a picture of who Angela is as a Housewife and so far, so good. And her starting to clock Shamea a bit will surely leave to a good rivalry since they both are coming across formidable.

Brit and her questionable husband is just...there.

PORSHA. She was just there making drama with Drew just to make drama with Drew. I felt she explained herself muuuuuch better when she had her luncheon with Kenya. And I really wished that Production has focused in on that. The fact that Kenya and her had such a history and so many people were looking forward to them headlining this new generation of girls TOGETHER. THIS was a moment that was years in the making and one of the best moments of the episode. But we can't have nice things on this show. But Production are bound and determined to punish Kenya so...moving on. lol. And knowing how Dennis acts, Porsha knew better than to threaten him with moving his child away from him. That coda scene was exactly why I didn't want Porsha back. Also why I was Team Kelli last week.

KENYA. I don't care if she was in the background like a porcelain doll because she was giving looks and expressions. And like I said...her meeting with Porsha was a moment in the making so so disappointed that Production did not give us more than what we got cuz they want to be petty and spiteful. Looks like she's coming in hot next week and hope it's true.

SHAMEA. Like I said...THIS is how a FOH to HW should be. She's giving good moments. She's giving friendship and connections. And she's giving real story. And now...she's about to have a rivalry with Angela. No notes.

DREW. Well someone has to be the deluded Housewife. And with ShebySheBroke gone, that would have to be Drew. At least with Drew though, there was usually some truth mixed in with all the delusion which is why I'm not at all hating on her at the moment. I still have the reunion from last weekend on my mind so it might be coloring my perspective on her. I don't think Dennis is the greatest producer in the world, but I don't think she is sleeping with him, either. Not yet anyway. And then that fourth wall breaking with Porsha...she wants to film with her producer and her singing...AND? Now if they get scenes that have nothing to do with those two...THEN come at her. Not before.

KELLI. My favorite newbie so far. And she continued to give me more. She seem more toned down which helped. But she has such a bubbly personality that I find myself liking. And her being open enough to talk about her ex-husband stealing all that money was something else. But good to see that her mind is on her legacy for her four girls and expanding her business. There was just something about those restaurant scenes and I don't mean the men hehe that I really liked, and I really would like to know if it gets finished by the end of the season.

ANGELA. Mildly intrigued. Charles Oakley is going to be a whole menace, ain't he? lol. But as long as he cooks like he was with those lovely looking steaks that made my mouth water, I'm good. Part of me feels like Angela is just there. But then part of me see how she moves and then I go hmmmm. Like her vs Shamea and calling out the fact that yes, Shamea has acted like Porsha's lapdog for YEARS. And she is not poor at all. The potential is so there.

BRIT. Fake. Phoney. Where's the Kim Richards gif? You know the one.

And where are my taglines?

That's how I felt.

Simone is definitely trying for a publicity stunt probably.

And Toya was apparently securing a spot next season by dropping that tea about Curtis on WWHL.

And the style in how they do the intro was really cool.

The champagne cork. The model walk. The thrown shoe! And their tagline (other than the last one) was on point. Including the inflections on words that I don't understand but I know shade/diva tone when I hear it.

This is giving me Real Housewives of Melbourne/Sydney vibes (not the music so much, but the staging). I love how they amped it up in terms of a soap opera opening. I really like it, and now I want to watch.

Not all the overseas Real Housewives franchises are perfect, or even that great, but some stand out in my mind as being pretty fabulous. Melbourne, parts of Sydney, VANCOUVER, Auckland, season 1 of Cheshire with Magali... Good times. I know you some of you guys checked out RH of Johannesburg and Nairobi, too. Gosh, I miss my Melbourne.

There isn’t a day that goes by that I don’t miss Melbourne. I wish some of the sensitive US wives got thrown to the wolves with the Melbourne women. They wouldn’t last an hour.

I know right. I don't understand them, but that opening and the vibe was breathtaking. I would watch.

I really wish there were foreign HW shows aired here. Because what I've seen, I would love to see. Like LEGOS, this one, that same tweet mentioned reasons to watch HOUSEWIVES OF AMSTERDAM. Of course, JOHANNESBURG.

Same on both accounts. That's an ALL STARS season I would love to see.

Vancouver - the best single season (season 1) of any RH franchise. A perfect story arc.

You all know I miss the hell out of Melbourne. For my money, the finest franchise to ever be. Give me Janet, Jackie, Chyka, Gina, Lydiot, and whoever else they wanted in the mix any day.

Honestly everyone on the cast annoyed me tonight.

Kyle - If you dont want to talk about Morgan, than LEAVE. At best she should be demoted to Friend of bc then there would be no expectation for her to open up

Erika/Dorit - How many apologies do they need? They keep harping on the same issues and Im over it

Garcelle - Sh needs to let the Morgan thing go bc Kyle isnt opening up and it only makes her look bad staying on it. Im glad she didnt jump in to defend Sutton at the end bc Sutton doesnt do the same for her.

Boz - I cant even remember what she did but I remember being irritated by her too

Sutton - She was too hung up on the semantics of Erika saying she doesnt support women when she clarly meant in this group, not alll in the world. Again she storms off and thats getting old

Overall Im over this season. They keep bringing up the same issues and fighting about it. Lets move on to the finale and reunion

Yeah, last night, I thought "y'all just need to move on from this" when it came to Dorit vs. Sutton, and then Erika chiming in with her "what about meeee?" bit. Is the season finale soon?

    • Seeing Peter Bergman (Jack) and Melody Thomas Scott (Nikki) act opposite each other really makes me mad that their short-lived reunion in 2012 was just that... short-lived. I've always loved the Jack/Nikki pairing.
    • No.  I recall there was also a mention about how distracting it was EOB's Gwen wasn't wearing nail polish as well.  That it was someone's pet peeve. And, yes, the fact characters can have a manicure in prison is the wildest continuity issue here.
    • Can anyone remember Mary Ellen Stuart's run as Jenny? I'm trying to fill in the cracks for missing stuff that we overlooked.  Bulletpoints:  * Dated Ross * Rusty's police partner * Directly responsible for Dinah coming forward about George Stewart (Cam's father)
    • But that's not weird... nail polish is allowed in prisons via commissary. Same with general makeup, haircuts, and hair colouring products.
    • This is DAYS, the show that said you could brainwash anyone with simple kitchen appliances.  An actor's nail polish or lack thereof should be the least of our concerns, lol.
    • It was not that she wasn't wearing nail polish, it is that she managed to get a manicure in prison
    • "We're Knot Done Yet": the name of this lovely podcast AND what JVA tells her plastic surgeon at every appointment. In other news, Michele Lee is reminding me more and more of my old music teacher from elementary school, and I couldn't STAND that bitch.
    • I apologize if this has been covered already, but does anyone know whether Douglas Marland was HW'ing by that point?  If he was, then I see what he meant when he said (in so many words) that he had inherited a mess when he started at GH.  Aside from Alan and Monica, none of that material seems very promising.  The story with Mark Dante and the Corbins is the wrong kind of predictable (y'know, the kind where you know what's going to happen, but you just don't give a crap?), the stuff with Scotty and Laura is cute but toothless, I don't know WHAT the hell Gina and Steve Carlson's character are arguing about and Rick Webber has to be the dumbest man alive not to see David Hamilton twirling his invisible moustache over how to make a killing off Lamont Corbin's declining health.  (By the way, "LAMONT CORBIN"?  What is this, "The Shadow"?  And "Corbin Limited" sounds like some jive I'd hear over on Y&R.) In a way, it's kind of like watching today's GH, right down to the dialogue that's serviceable and pushes plot along but says nothing about the characters' inner lives.
    • It absolutely was; the narrative was there, and they followed it promptly. Maybe that's back when women had babies at young ages?!?!?
