Oh, Potomac, Potomac, Potomac...

This franchise is so bad it's good. There is virtually nothing likable about 83.33% of them.

Katie is pretty, here in Potomac, but so damn obnoxious. And the way she talks, including that little head tilt she does when she says the first part of one sentence, and then shifts to the other side when she finishes her thought... this is the one I want to smack the most in Potomac.

Karen is too crusty in Potomac. I'm glad Gizelle made a mention of her mussed hair at the lunch meet-up there in Potomac. Charrisse is just gross (see above photos) and thinks way too highly of herself in Potomac. I'm already tired of the etiquette lessons, but Karen's Aunt Dot was pretty funny. Considering how old I gather she must be, she can be as cantankerous as she wants to be.

Ashley may not live in Potomac, but she sure married rich like the other ladies who do reside in Potomac. Typical trophy wife who plans half-assed charity functions to fill her time near Potomac.

Robyn of Potomac. Why exactly is she here? Half the time she looks like she's drifting off to sleep in Potomac, the other half she seems uninterested altogether. Still don't have a clue what she's about, but she's black. I have a feeling she'll feel compelled to remind us every so often that she is black. She has that same sleepy-eyed, puppydog look as Kathy's daughter from New Jersey. Speaking of New Jersey, one of Katie's young boys looks like the male Potomac version of Milania! Anyone else notice that??

And then we have Gizelle, who so far looks like will be the only breakout character of the Potomac series. Karen is too crusty and her schtick is already old. I like Gizelle, and she will be the one who helps generate storyline in Potomac. I like her energy, sass, and ability to make this show interesting.

Finally, if you ever forget which series you're watching, rest assured that the word "Potomac" will be uttered every other minute.

Potomac.

I'm not getting all the hate for Katie. I haven't see much self hatred from her. She looks darker than Robyn and Gizelle so I didn't appreciate their rudeness at her daughter's ceremony.

I really want to like Karen but her association with Charisse makes her look so ugly and nasty. She seems to bring out the judgmental/vile side of Karen. I expected Karen to be a lot nicer but I guess I was wrong.

So far I have to say I like Kate, Gizelle (her daughters are lovely angels), and to a lesser extent Ashley. She does come across as a gold digger but I can't hate on her for loving that accent child....

Kenya is so thirsty for a fight. Now that Nene's gone she's just itchin for someone and it drives her mad that Kim knows that unlike Kenya she actually has CLASS and has earned recognition in the public arena for her life and her work. It just drives Kenya bonkers.

Hence why she's making up reasons to be angry. No one with a rational mind could have ever taken Kim's phone message the way Kenya did.

This is going to be good! Kathryn is coming out "guns blazing" for Faye. I hope its not all a lot of build up for nothing.

In other news, is Mohamed done with Vanderpump for spilling the beans about his kids not having Lyme's? I hope not, as he would only be enabling Yolanduh's sick mental state.

ETA: How do you embed BravoTV videos into these posts? I copied the embed code and pasted but it got me nowhere. :/

If she had class she wouldn't be on this show, and she and Kenya both earned fame only to end up on a cheesy reality show. Not much for Kim to be morally superior about, especially since she's actively ashamed to be on the show and can't hide it.

Even Lisa Whelchel, who really made herself look bad with some of the stuff she said about parenting, managed to have a respectable run on Survivor, and used it to help her career (motivational speaking). I have no idea what Kim will get out of this. She disappoints me because I grew up watching her and now I see this weak, confused woman on my TV, and it's sad. She may "win" against Kenya, but it's a loss in the long run. But hey, it pays the bills, so good for her. I just can't chalk it off as a moral victory. But that's JMO.

So true. If she does gain a victory over Kenya, it'll be hollow. By then, everything about her will be decimated to nothingness. People who go on reality TV are those who have nothing to lose. Kim has everything to lose and nothing to gain other than the money Bravo is tossing her. Plus, Kim's reaction from the audience isn't that stellar. Yeah, most who hate Kenya root for her on that aspect but that aside, those same people want her gone b/c she brings nothing to the show.

Again, I don't condone what Kenya is doing, but Kenya is making her work for that money. That's one things I can say about Kenya. Ain't nobody about to sit on this show and collect a check by doing nothing. You're gonna have to contribute to drama in some way and Kenya is ensuring she does even if she has to make a go at her.

    • I actually thought he came off as younger. It's so hard to buy Martin as Nicole and Ted's son unless they had him when they were 12.
    • @chrisml Isn't remarkable that, on a soap whose brand is built on twists and mysteries, that Raven's last straw was as simple as Logan saying that she was incapable of loving Jamey.  In the episode when Raven exit's and leaves Jamey with April, I can remember feeling the subtext that Raven is also trying to talk herself into leaving him behind.  There's so much in that little scene.  She's trying to stick it to Logan for saying she was a bad mother.  She's both granting April's wish, and damning her with the old adage of being careful what she wished for.  And, she's hinting to Draper that she's going to boff his father. It remains my favorite scene, and it still blows my mind that was not the end of that episode.
    • Oh lord not Drew just figured out it was both Nina and Portia that set him up. Willow WILL never leave this man.
    • And in addition to Patti being de-aged, she was no longer a nurse, divorced from Len(fair enough) and her two children were not seen and barely mentioned. So basically she was a totally new character. For newer viewers it didn't matter but any loyal viewers would have been wondering about all the changes with Patti. Sarah Whiting always puzzled me. The writers finally decide to acknowledge Jo's family and do so by making up a never mentioned adopted teen. Why not just bring in Tracey, Jo's actual grandaughter? As for Liza, perhaps it would have been wise to rest the character when Sherry left. They were big shoes to fill and her Liza was so identified with Travis. I don't recall what was going on in the story at that time but if they knew Sherry was leaving, write it so Liza would leave town to care for an ailing Janet and take a breather with the character for a few months.
    • Ahh interesting. Yeah, that's sad for A-M. I will say, he and Nick became fast friends when Susan started working at Spaulding. A-M/Lucy/Nick/Susan had a lot of double dates in those 7 months. A-M was Nick's best man at his wedding to Susan, which now that I think about it, is odd that he wouldn't have considered Fletcher. I remember those two were so close at the paper, and even living together with Ben. Once Tangie left SF, Nick left the paper, and Fletcher/Holly were rarely seen... so I guess they felt that friendship wasn't shown often enough anymore (which again, lazy writing).
    • I honestly don't think Alan-Michael ever really had a friend on the show. Maybe Cameron or Samantha, but otherwise... *Cameron was a high school friend who ended up dating teenage Dinah after she broke up with A-M. Samantha is Phillip's biological sister, who A-M treated like a sister. Interestingly enough, they were born the same week on the show in 1981, but A-M ends up being older than her when she returns to town in '89.
    • I thought he was very cute too, and a likeable presence even though on paper Cliff was a prick. I wonder if he was well-liked by viewers or someone at the show as there's a point in these episodes where he could have been written out and was not.
    • I'm not a Derek fan at all (and not even all that much of an Ashley fan, but man has she become awful in their relationship--like she's not even trying.  But also I admit, I don't think I'd ever live with someone, even someone I was married to (I know they're not married) in a bachelor apartment unless I had to.  Even just a one bedroom would make a big difference.  I'd probably end up hiding in the bathroom a lot

    • Going back to this, I'm even more confused why Amanda would say that only a year later (lazy writers), because I'm watching April 29, 1996 right now and literally all of the current on-air Spauldings (Alan, Alex, Amanda, A-M) and Coopers (Buzz, Lucy, Frank, Eleni) are on a plane together for Lucy/A-M's wedding. Along with Reva (which right now makes sense because she's married to Buzz), Dahlia (so out of place, but by default because they can't let a high school kid they just took in stay home alone), and a very random Rick (he's barely had any interaction with any of these characters all year haha).  It's like a madhouse on that plane, which is pretty comical because most of them don't get along... but they very much know each other. Still miffed that Bridget is totally forgotten here. And David. And Nick/Susan! Couldn't they have waited to fire them until after this wedding?  It was only like 2 months later. They had to make Alan be A-M's best man (which is wild to me) bc A-M doesn't even have any real friends on the show right now.
    • You're right and I do imagine many longtime viewers were put off. I suppose the show felt many of the longtime fans were gone, so in that sense I get it if the show had continued. They should have taken greater care with the generation below Patti. It's hard to remember she was meant to be mother to Sarah. I wonder if that is one of the reasons they killed Sarah before Patti arrived. Or were those different teams?
