RHOA

I've been so busy. I forgot to talk about it. lol.

I liked it even more than the first one. It felt like they were slowly finding their rhythm. It's not there yet. Because we had Housewives individual scenes. We had a Housewives event. We had fun shade. But I can tell I'm not completely in. Yet.

What I found interesting in this episode was how much the newbies except for Brit were giving me so much to be into. Shamea with her issues with the baby and her growing feud with Angela which was giving old school RHOA. Angela with her husband and her business and not being a shrinking violet to Porsha's lapdog Shamea. Kelli's...EVERYTHING. I'll go as far as to even say that Drew was even giving something. It's interesting to see how much she comes alive when she's focused on or talking about her music. It makes me think of Candiace on RHOP and how I wished that she focused on her music/acting more than feuding with the girls. Probably why I eventually came around to liking her when she did just that. Meanwhile...Porsha...well...smh.

PORSHA. Outside of my new interest in what a Strawberry Henny Margarita is like, she was really giving nothing. Scratch that. She was giving 'throwing anything at the wall to see what sticks' to make her interesting. Feuding with Drew...which was all right last week, but fell completely flat this week. The issues with Simon fall flat due to her being Production's favorite and trying to edit how we look at her. And as for trying to create a feud with Shamea aka her BFF a la Bethanny Frankel on NY with Jill...to use her own words...WRONG ROAD!!! I can't with her.

DREW. So darn delulu. lol. Well, with ShebySheBroke gone, someone has to be. lol. But she comes across as fake as Porsha. So I was glad Kenya was there with her to stir the pot. It was in the moments where Drew was authentic...all her stuff with music and what is this about her in a horror movie? cuz I would watch #horrorfan...was when she (pun unintended) sang for me. I wanted to hear more of her music because that song and how it sounded and how it felt...resonated. I wanted more. Meanwhile...so Tampa Ralph is stalling on the divorce?

SHAMEA. She was still doing everything right. She was winning the audience over with her baby storyline. And her worries came across as so real. Meanwhile, I LOOOOOVE her feud with Angela. Two rich women. Their fight at the end was great.

KELLI. That's it!!! She is sooooooooooo my favorite of the newbies. She had me with her event and her story about her kids. My eyes watered. Her sincerity shined through to me and I love that. Bringing awareness and helping her community. Being able to hold her own with Porsha that Porsha had no choice, but to come to a truce. So many one liners. She's been great.

ANGELA. She held her own this episode. Love her feud with Shamea. Though she was giving a little bit of Marlo in that scene. But perhaps that was why I liked it. The shade came fast, quick, and clear. Meanwhile, we do see her life in the episode with her and the houses she want to sell off. And Charles was a hoot this episode.

BRIT. All I took from her scenes was that her husband is smart. Why? He knew better than to say a thing about Kenya...who Brit is clearly making into her storyline.

Speaking of storyline...I am ready for the rest beginning of Brit vs Kenya next week.

So it appears that Sutton didn't back Garcelle again, and Garcelle threw in the towel.

I don't blame her.

Let Sutton keep chasing after Kyle, and Garcelle can go and chase Hollywood money bags. Get money, Garcelle!

And I am not going to even acknowledge Erotika Lame calling Garcelle boring when the only time she was interesting was b/c Garcelle & Sutton brought up the lawsuit onscreen. Erotika should've been scrapped the same time Rinna was.

Furthermore, Dorit, shut up. EVERYONE online was saying you and PK staged that robbery and still do "allegedly." That whole ordeal was sketchy. And the other women know it and think it, too. Garcelle just had the chutzpah to say it out loud.

I like Garcelle and Tilley but aside from that, I cant stand any of those heffas. Kyle, Erika and Dorit have officially reinstated the Fox Force tonight and it seems they are ready to induct Boz with Sutton desperately wanting to be in. Truly disgusting. I cant. Im fine with Garcelle leaving now.

This was an awful finale. The fox force basically being back at full strength and Garcelle leaving doesn’t really make me want to watch next season but I always come back to this show. It’s the only housewives I’ve hated for years but still watch.

[!@#$%^&*]. You said it: that finale was terrible.

It has always been the right time to fire Kyle ‘Never Open Nor Honest’ Richard’s. But now more than ever. Ditto Erika ‘Decorated Rental’ Girardi and Dorit ‘Foreclosure’ Kemsley.

While Sutton can be totally insufferable but her house being on N Beverly Glen Blvd does not diminish that she lives in swank Bel Air - her house is a street over from Elizabeth Taylor’s house.

Exactly.

Yeah, I thought overall the season started strong with the PK/Dorit and Kyle/Mo real life dramas, but it petered out at the end with the endless Dorit vs. Sutton feud. I'm ready for the reunion.

I'm sad to hear about Garcelle though. She was always a breath of fresh air that kept it real. Are we thinking they'll shake up the RHOBH cast next season?

EDIT: Oh boy, I haven't seen the finale yet. Sounds bad.

Also wanted to add in my +1 on Jennifer Tilley. I have loved her personality since way back in the 80's when she was in this silly movie called "He's My Girl."

    • Thanks!   Was anyone watching during this time? Wondering how Peggy’s rape played out onscreen. It just seems cruel to subject the Brooks family to this trauma a 2nd time.   Feels like the writers have already given up on the character of Jennifer, even though she sticks around another year-plus. She should be a passionate and fierce protective mother, but instead she seems just reactionary (and not even mentioned in this recap) This was also the case in ‘73 when Chris was raped. The writers are definitely more invested Stuart as the Brooks parent.
    • BTG got another SNL reference at 00:50  CONTEXT (so it isn't misconstrued) in this joke swap segment, Michael Che frequently makes his white cohost Colin Jost read racist jokes written by Che.

    • It's obvious that Israel's presence is a major divisive issue, and this is something that the EBU needs to deal with. According to the now published results Israel got 13 out of a possible 19 max points in the semi-final, and while their song isn't bad there's no way they would get those numbers without some kind of manipulation/political voting. They are clearly using this contest as a way of improving their somewhat tarnished reputation. I know that some people are comparing this to the massive sympathy votes that Ukraine gets and which propelled them to victory in 2022, but I feel that that was a more genuine show of support than this concerted effort from Israel to influence the televoting. I even had an ad on Youtube from Israel in Swedish(!) asking for votes! It might not be against any rules, but it feels a bit icky nonetheless.
    • Yeah, as you wrote, an Israeli win would have been a political disaster. Congratulations to Austria. 0 points from the televoting to Switzerland was a disgrace. Other than that, I really enjoyed the show ... but I'm also glad that Eurovision season is over

    • Hahaha Sorry if I was too negative, I just started typing and typing once I got going hahaha
    • @dc11786 Thanks for taking time to answer my various questions, along with giving your thoughts on the different writing teams. I wonder why they didn't just have Ryder and TR leave together if Jane was going anyway. The discussions over the last few pages have made me more interested in watching these episodes than I have been over the years - without the extra details and analyses provided, these years can be difficult to decipher (not helped by how often Jo seems like a side character).
    • I didn't think this was very good (I've never yet seen a good episode of this revival), but you do get a lot of Michael Stroka. And if you are a Donna Reed Show fan, you also get Paul Petersen.
