Bravo wanted more WH drama? That's what killed the franchise IMO. There was WAY too much focus on the Salahi incident and not the interpersonal relationships between the women which is why we watch these shows. That event overshadowed and eclipsed everything and its not something they should have been chasing. There was also way too much political talk on the show. I know it was set in DC, but I could have done without that. The show needed to be retooled after season 1 and the first business of order should have been to drop Michaele. If none of the other women wanted to film with her, then that should have been a hint to get rid of the bitch. She was dragging them all down. She wasn't a Teresa or Nene. You don't cancel a show bc you cant have her.

The ironic thing is that the ladies didn't continue to film with her after the white house drama and thats when you got the seasons best drama--the feud between Cat and Erika. They didn't need Michaele's tired ass.

Erika should have been a housewife. They should have dropped Michaele, and added Erika along with another woman for season 2

Can you imagine? Two black housewives! Considering the ratings ATL gets, it's pretty shocking they don't try to cast more black housewives across the board.

Stacie was more quiet and reserved but from what I can recall of Erika, she was more of a Nene type in that she had no problem saying her opinion, calling people out and getting in their face, but unlike Nene, she did it intelligently and didn't come across hood. I think she could have stirred things up and brought on the ratings. Im also shocked they don't hire more black women outside of ATL bc the black audience is by and large responsible for that franchises huge numbers

I just noticed these numbers. NJ went and doubled its numbers. We all know it was bc of "Prostitution WHORE!" table flip. LOL

I think this will always be the most memorable moment in Housewives history

DC is known as Chocolate City so I'm surprised they didn't have more than one. Not to mention Prince George's county right outside of DC is the richest majority black county in America, but I'm sure some of them wouldn't want to get tangled up in the Housewives world.

Ew, I just finsihed Vanderpump Rules and Pandora really annoyed me. She came across like a bitch and I didn't like it.

I liked the last episode but this wedding one was boring. Im with whomever said they just didn't care about these weddings. The early promos hyped this season as a battle of the Bridezillas and there was absolutely NO spillover of the Joanna vs Adrianna feud from last year. They barely interacted and when they finally did, it was to makeup. Without them fighting, what was the point of the two weddings. I wanted to see that drive drama between them.

I was glad Lisa finally decided to go with a surrogate, but then sad when I read her update that she lost her. I really feel for her and her quest to be a mother. This struggle helped bring her back to a relatable level bc she starting to get too involved in the petty drama. I hate that she and Lenny have issues bc I enjoy them together. I hope he doesn't leave her

As a fellow ratings buff/nerd, thanks for posting this!

A few random observations: I'm surprised ATL's season 4 finale was so low. Surprised OC's season 6 finale was so high. Amazed that NJ climbed so quickly in the very first (and short! Like 8 episodes?) season. I also didn't realize that Beverly Hills did so well by the end of the 1st season and had a stellar 2nd season, but then backtracked so much in season 3. I felt it was a strong season overall.

Sigh... What could've been if they had kept Alex and maybe even Jill, as awful as she can be.

I hope that Beverly Hills can recover in the ratings because this season looks really good. I thought they did a good job refreshing the cast without it feeling drastic. They've lost a lot of familiar faces with Taylor, Camille, Faye and Adrienne gone, but I didn't feel a huge void with them gone. The show is lucky that Yolanda worked out last season so they have her as carry over. Kim was also a lot more enjoyable than she usually is. The only person I found myself annoyed with was Lisa. She felt a little smug and bitchy (which seems to carry over in previews for next week). I worry that she's bought into her hype and will be the cause of her own downfall this year. We'll see.

My biggest takeaway from this episode is that I Love, Love, Love Carlton. I don't know what it is exactly, but she's very appealing and different to me. Does anybody know who she played on Y&R? I wish the show had introduced us to Carlton and Joyce with the typical "Welcome Package" scene. All and all, I won't complain. I have two great housewives shows to watch.

I didn't watch Vanderpump Rules, so did i miss anything? If I need to watch that I will, but I'd really rather not.

Miami Finale:

Romain was so hot and cute at the same time.

I had never seen Alexia smile like that ever again. She was so happy to have Peter around. And even happier that Peter seemed ok for once.

Joanna seemed so fake. She is not a very good reality show actress, unless she is VERY drunk.

I hope there is a season 4 with different dynamics and at least two more ladies.


BH:

Team Lisa as always. She is the queen of the show and she doesn't have to say it every five minutes because a)it's the truth and she doesn't have to convince herself and the viewers.

What was the point of watching Kim play with her dog for five minutes? I can't stand the Richards sisters. Kyle is so fake, but at least she has the looks of an 80s soap star.

Joyce and her husband seemed a little bit weird.

I didn't expect to like Carlton, but I did.

The two new additions to BH are so far, so good. They seem to fit with the group and the locale, and the manner of introduction -- as part of the BH Chamber of Commerce -- worked. It felt like a real party. From the preview, I thought I wasn't going to warm to witchy Carlton and much more to Joyce, but it was kind of the other way around. Mind you, I like how Joyce reminds me of Karent -- not because she happens to be Hispanic, but because of her smile. And her hair is EPIC. Like, telenovela epic.

Kim looked fabulous at Kyle's party; in fact, it looked like Kathy Hilton styled her entire look. I also like her dog who is adorable. I suspect Kim's troubles with her children are going to be her SL this year -- it can't all be about her cute doggy.

Yolanda is continuously fabulous and I love the friendship she has with Lisa... which makes what is probably going to happen this season so bitter. After scoring a hit at Reunion with attacking Yolanda, Kyle and Kim clearly have her in their cross-hairs and are going to keep peck-peck-pecking away at her, Lyme disease or no Lyme disease. And even though Kyle professes to hate Lisa, she is clearly jealous of Lisa's loyalty to Yolanda and wants Lisa as her BFF.

In case you can't tell, Kyle still bothers me big-time. Her delusion that she is the main draw of this franchise is so fascinating to watch. She wants Lisa as her BFF but she is insanely jealous of her and feels that she usurped Kyle's starring role on RHoBH. She also plays the victim card like nobody's business, careful to appear the Bigger Person on screen but (with Faye gone) having her older daughter and others trot out the "Lisa's been so mean to you" stories so that she can look like the wronged party. Still, she is as much a part of BH as Lisa is and without these two facing off, this show would not exist.

Brandi was at the party and stood next to LIsa but we did not see either women really talk with each other. Hmmm.

Lisa is clearly getting the bitch edit this season. I was all ready to be up in arms about it, but then I realized that Lisa is happy to play the bitch role. She is tough enough to handle criticism about her comments and, unlike Kyle, she is not playing Poor Little Victim Me. Maybe it is smugness or hubris on her part, but I think she owns it and don't think she is much different from the last few seasons. Her sense of humor has always had bite. As for being the only bitch on the show, well, Kyle and Kim were more than happy to reference Lisa's supposed soft-porn (or three-quarter nip) past in front of the newbies and Ken Todd's best friend -- something else she has in common with Joan Collins, which is probably why she has never hidden it.

Glad to have my fave franchise back now that Miami is winding down.

ATL was boring after the South Africa trip and I think the finale revolved around Kandi's sex toys. Not surprised.

OC finale was Tamra serving Jeana her "cyst and decease" papers so I guess folks tuned in for the ratchetness that ensued.

NJ definitely got those numbers for the table flip. I remember hearing about it on The Soup and other blogs online.

BH Season 3 wasn't as good as the first two IMO so those numbers aren't surprising to me either.

And yes from a ratings standpoint only Kelly and irrelevant Cindy should have been fired. I wonder how NJ will do with their overhaul. People were definitely growing tired of this cast but I wonder if they lost some viewers for good.

New Jersey's problem is that they waited too long to revamp their cast. They should've added one housewife in season 4 and at least one more in season 5. Now they have the disadvantage of having bored viewers they may not be able to get back, plus they're losing 2-3 wives, which is a big move. Now they've put themselves in the position where this reboot MUST work, or they're screwed. It helps that they're bringing Dina back so you have another familiar face with proven relationships. Many think Kathy is done, but I expect Kathy to remain just for numbers.
