Members Khan
My guess: crack. It's a "tradition" @ ONE LIFE to be informed in the parking lot by a production assistant that you have just filmed your last scenes and are no longer employed at the show. It's named in honor of Lillian Hayman (ex-Sadie Gray), who wasn't even allowed to go back and clear out her dressing room until a security guard basically snuck her in during the weekend. Members DeeeDee
And in the end their hard work was marginalized & they were thrown horribly under the bus for less talented co-stars. Welcome to the club.
Members MarkH
This is Nelson's brand. If he hadn't reported this, Perez or someone lower down the food chain would have. I am NOT defending this smear campaign, but I think it is more meaningful to look at who is feeding Nelson this. Whose agenda is it to try to destroy these actors? It's bad enough how the story was ended, but these kinds of rumors can jeopardize their future careers. That is vile. Why can't this little nugget of storyline have had a respectful ending and then faded away? Why did it have to be accompanied by this sh*t? Members DRW50
I think this might be something unimportant for Perez (he only covered Kish briefly, isn't he usually bigger gossip), but you're right that others might have done the same as Branco did. It bothers me because I remember how this went with Jess Walton, Chris Engen (although I know there were extenuating circumstances there), the blind item which seemed to be about David Canary and was so callous. This reminds me of the Crystal Hunt fiasco, because that also turned into being about the actress and her being disliked by someone at the show. It's not quite the same, as that seemed to come from some of the actors, but Nelson seems to always be happy to go along with shifting blame on the actors if something goes wrong with a story or with characters or contract issues. Members wingwalker
This part in the Sara Bibel interview, when he's talking about Frank and Ron stuck out to me: "It’s our family in a lot of ways and a little part of us feels like we’re being thrown under the bus by our family, maybe..." I think he knows the reasons they were let go is bull and feels hurt.
Members marceline
Sweetie you need to leave this to the professionals. Crack is so 1987. I'm calling a cocktail of meth, booze, benzos and SSRIs.
Members Soapsuds
Yeah...he got shafted. There was a column in TV Guide Canada that alleges that you two were written off for performance issues. I wanted to give you the opportunity to respond to that. Scott informed me of that yesterday. It’s amazing to me that two people can put so much of their heart into a story that can be so passionate and serious and tell a story as honestly and as truthfully as we tried to and just open our hearts to the world and just try to make a difference, try and touch people and stories like this will come out that are absolutely, 100% false. I’d love for anyone to watch one day of any of the work we’ve done and tell me that Scott and I were not 100% committed to what we were doing. We were so dedicated to our work. It’s hurtful. I’m really offended that someone would make completely false claims. I’m angry. It’s slander. It struck me that if you were being unprofessional, you probably wouldn’t have gotten an Emmy pre-nomination. One of the last days that Scott and I worked together, the argument scene that just aired two weeks ago when I had the DNA test, we had all these scenes that were from different episodes, 41 pages of dialogue that Scott and I filmed in maybe an hour and a half. We work so methodically together and so well together. We would film scenes in one take like everybody does. You ask the directors we worked with. The fact that you can spend a year and a half pouring your heart into a story and one person with one article can try to bruise that reputation you have, it’s disheartening and it’s offensive. this stood out for me
Members Adam
Afterall, crack is whack. Very good interviews. Both of them got the shaft.... (pardon the pun) and its just the same old story.... gay storylines do not have longevity on daytime soaps.... its unfortunate and makes it more painful to tease the community like this. I am 100% behind these two actors..... I hope the ratings continue to dwindle.
Members bellcurve
Did Miss Nellie get turned down at the OLTL Christmas Party?! I wonder why he'd tell such an out and out lie. Key West: The Series! Starring Brett Claywell and Scott Evans! Featuring two sassy sidekicks played by Daphne Duplaix and Tika Sumpter.
Members marceline
That works for me provided you can bring on Scott Clifton as Daphnee Duplaix's drug addict husband. Damn, that's a fanfic BEGGING to be written. And I think we'll need to change the name since there was already a TV show in the 90s called Key West. How about Shafted? That pretty much describes what happened to all of them.
