ABC Looking at New Daytime Show

What's even more ludicrous is that there are posters here who like to comment on shows that they don't even watch. You know who you are. Please find another outlet to make yourself feel superior to others.

Jonathan, I absolutely respect you as a poster and as a person, but come off it please! Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, regardless of if it's an opinion you agree or disagree with. If you think someone is commenting on a show they don't watch, then call that person out BY NAME and when it happens instead of leaving these vague blind items.

GH is the most expensive soap to produce, and Y&R is a close second. DAYS used to be the most expensive soap to produce until its budget cuts in 2006 and then again in 2008.

Ummm..how can you tell someone else to leave here? This is about a new show replacing possibly a soap. So what if posters havent seen a soap. This is not a AMC discussion thread per say or a OLTL discussion thread. This is a thread about soaps/daytime shows in general.

I think it was widely known that Days was the most expensive to produce. At the end Y&R and GH will be the last two soaps standing with GH actually lasting longer is what I heard.

Was ATWT very high or was it cheap to produce even though it was canceled for money issues.

Hmmm...opposite of what I heard...lol. Very interesting info. No wonder Y&R was only given a 2 year lease..lol

What I hear is that ATWT was under budget when it was cancelled.

Everyone is entitled to an opinion if they have something knowledgeable to contribute. I don't need to offer up names because they've been called out already in other threads.

Same here I watch all 7 too. So it can't be us two.

I don't even know or ever seen you or Eric83, so relax!

Then it should of been renewed. Unless like they said they weren't making money off of it or the ass president in charge wanted it gone because Guiding Light was too old so he went to the next oldest soap and decided to cancel it too

That's the thing they were underbudget but weren't making any money. So they go the cheaper route in a game show that will make them more money than ATWT. It's all about the money.

It means, stop being insecure.

I'm going to bring this back on topic. If ABC decides to move The View to syndication, then there would be room for this show and the soaps.

They are so damn greedy but I guess that's how company's are these days they need the money to keep the network running even though they make alot of money on shows in primetime

Well they will lose me as a CBS daytime viewer. I havent watched LMAD since it premiered. And I wont be watching anything else once ATWT is gone.

Um ok.

Anyway, I don't think it's about room. They will just use the money they pay for one of the soaps, and invest it in a much cheaper show. I still think that if it gets off the ground it will replace a soap. (Most likely OLTL.)
