Well, as MAB says, she can't write for teens because they aren't "sophisticated" (and isn't Y&R so darn swanky at the moment). So perhaps in a year or so, Beth Ehlers and Mark Derwin will be the new Noah and Eden.

Frankly, I knew we'd fitch a pit when it came out how he still could be alive. You can't ask viewers to suspend that much disbelief.

Meanwhile, teens have never been what you'd call "sophisticated," yet b/c, he had a niece who was the same age as many of his younger characters, Doug Marland wrote for them beautifully. Just sayin'.

Did you see that March 30 SOD cover of Marcy and Eden? Poor Marcy -- I guess they just took some random shot of her from the street but she looked awful. Whether it was a bad shot or airbrushing gone wild, she looked like an alien, or like those Joan Van Ark silver faced photos from a few years ago. I can't imagine that cover selling a lot of copies.
