"Fans have been asking for a hot new story for Jill and it's on the way!"exclaimed Bell."To fully explore Jill's sensuality,we felt that the change to Lisa in the role was necessary to tell the story in all it's elements".As for Walton,Bell noted,"Jess has been a wonderful cast member for many years and will always be dear to us". And in another casting scoop,ex Desperate Housewife star Nicollette Sheridan will be assuming the role of Nikki. "We will be revisiting history as Nikki returns to stripping and once again Victor will be entranced by her charms.But danger lurks at The Bayou and Victor will be the only one who can rescue her!" "Our viewers will be as excited to watch as we are in plotting this storyline",enthused Bell."As Victor and Nikki rediscover their passion,Nicollette and Eric sizzle in some very provocative lovemaking scenes!!!" As for Melody Thomas Scott,Bell noted,"Melody has been a special part of our Y&R family and made Nikki into an iconic role.We wish her only the best for the future". "It is a thrill for us to have an actress of Cady's stature become a part of daytimes #1 show and even more importantly, in the role of Traci-a legacy character created by Bill Bell." It has been noted that Traci was always a full figured character-something that could not be attributed to the sylph like McLain.Isn't this change rather drastic? "Not so",bristles Bell,"we will definitely be respecting the history and integrity of this character.Traci will have lost an enormous amount of weight due to the loss of her daughter and the break-up of her marriage.We have researched this storyline and found that many women grieving do,in fact ,lose weight.It will be addressed onscreeen in a dramatic scene where Traci explains all to Jack". Bell believes the 2 minute scene,which plays in the middle of a Wed episode, will provide inspiration for "our many plus sized viewers". And like many women who experience such a weight loss,Traci has discovered a new sensual side to herself.Her sexy new attitude will not go unnoticed in Genoa City. In a provocative story twist,Traci will attract the eye of none other than Victor Newman.Victor has always respected Traci for her values,but now desires her as a woman.Traci will find herself drawn to Victor,provoking the rage of her brother Jack,who will go to new lengths to destroy his rival. Bell notes that scenes between McLain and Eric Braeden were sizzling with chemistry."This is a must see storyline!",she promises. After months of speculation,Y&R has announced the return of Drucilla,a role made famous by Victoria Rowell.This time around,however,Rowell will not be returning to the role that made her a daytime sensation. "We are beyond thrilled to announce the return of Dru to Genoa City,proclaimed Maria Arena Bell. Tia Mowry of primetimes 'Sister,Sister' has won the coveted role."Tia blew us away at the audition",enthuses Bell."Paul,Hogan and I didn't even have to discuss this.We all knew we had found the actress to realize our vision of Dru." Of course,the question arises of Tia's twin sister Tamera."Well",chuckles Bell,"the fact that Tia is a twin,opens up exciting storyline possibilities for us.This story strand is really Hogan's.He came up with the brilliant twist of Dru having a long lost twin.This all ties in with Dru falling off the cliff.She was rescued by her twin,who had been following Dru after learning of her existence." "Now both women are returning to Genoa City and things will never be the same again!!Lives and relationships will be changed forever." Look for Neil and Malcolm to be involved with both sisters,and in a provocative twist,Devon will find himself attracted to his newfound 'aunt'. Maria Arena Bell reports that when casting for Nikki,it was decided to audition real life strippers and pole dancers. "It was Paul's idea",notes Maria."It was all about bringing authenticity and integrity to the story of Nikki returning to her life as an exotic dancer.Paul,out of respect for the performers,conducted private auditions in his office,even going as far as having a pole and jello bath installed.It was hard for him(to make a decision) throughout as he was excited by several of the performances". However,the game plan changed when Sheridan became available for the role. "Obviously,a star of Nicollette's magnitude was unable to commit long term",laments Bell,"so this is Nikki's swansong to Genoa City".Nikki's death will be one of the most heart rending stories we have told and will send several characters in exciting new directions.The performances of Eric Braeden,Joshua Morrow and Amelia Heinle will rival anything they have done in the last few months",proclaims Bell. Will the stripping sequences see a return of The Bayou set? "Even better!",enthuses Bell,"the GCAC will now hold a 'Bayou' night where a stage has been installed and a glittery sign the says 'The Bayou' will be prominent".
