From SOD, this was posted at SOC:

Damon's Pine Valley Roots Revealed

Liza finds out that Damon is Hillary Wilson's (the first great love of Tad's life) son. Is he Tad's son? Jesse thinks so. Viewers will find out on the week of 3/15. Damon's parents, particularly his father, were sort of removed from him - always going away on long trips. Damon is thrown when Tad tells him about his connection to his mother.

Thanks for the scoop! I really hope they bring Carmen Thomas on.... I am surprised Liza doesn't keep this from Tad.... they could be setting up for Liza and Hillary fighting for Tad...

Hillary presumably knows Angie and Jesse quite well too?

On the one hand, I'm glad for this unexpected, if completely random, nod to history. But on the other hand? Just makes me miss Marcy Walker all the more. Her Liza should be the one to figure out Damon's connection to Hillary, not Cindy Lubbock's.

That's b/c, Jesse's an idiot.

Consider the ramifications, though, once Liza and Jesse figure out Damon is Hillary's son. How would that impact Tad personally? Unless Damon is David, his nemesis's, son, it wouldn't. Therefore, Damon has to be David's. There's just no other way around it.

Very interesting read!! Sounds like everything is up in the air on this until Kreizman and Swajeski take over, which I notice Carmen says is at the end of the month (as opposed to SIDs March 1st date)

I really love her enthusiasm, and her current photo shows that she is indeed a beautiful woman. I totally agree with her assessment of Tad and Hillary; that they spent so many years longing for each other, and then when they were finally brought together, it all just abruptly ended when he left the show. So we never really got the chance to explore them in an adult relationship. They really did have very good chemistry. Everyone who knows Tad & Dixie comments that Cady McClain was the only actress Knight seems to generate palpable chemistry with... but he shared a different, but just as palpable vibe with Thomas.

I liked reading that Knight is lobbying JHC for Carmen to come back - because he probably KNOWS that they share chemistry and that will, in all likelihood, finally give him a relationship story that will work for him. And honestly, putting aside the character-wrecking things that he did (particularly under McTavish's last run), I'd like to see Tad find some happiness. I know people that aren't familiar with the pre-Dixie era won't necessarily be sold on this idea, given that it's still sight-unseen. But I really do think that bringing Hillary back into his orbit, even after all these years, would work very well, especially if written carefully. The two actors, and their characters, really did share something sweet on-screen... and it would be nice to see it again.

Thanks so much for that, AMCHistory. Sounds like she just might reprise her role as Hillary, I really hope she does. It would be pathetic of AMC to not have her show up in PV at all anyways! I really hope she can work something out with the show, the fact that MEK is advocating for her return gives me more hope that she will :)

MAKE THIS HAPPEN David and Donna. Carmen sounds like she really would love to come back. Golden opportunity here! Thanks for posting the interview! I love the thought of Tad pitching this idea to Carruthers.

It just occurred to me that Donna Swajeski should be familiar with this backstory... considering that Hillary / Carmen Thomas is from the era that Swajeski worked with ABC Daytime. So there may be some hope on that front. From what Carmen is hearing, while Hillary's return is being advocated by both Lorraine and MEK, its actually happening depends on Kreizman & Swajeski's takes (and of course we know JHC & Frons have the final word).

    • I loved watching Shanice hand Leslie her ass and finally shutting her up. It was so good. I also love Martin & Smitty's family.  Anita has to have some sort of plan giving Leslie the tickets to mail for Winterfest. She has to be setting her up for a fall. It's pretty obvious to me Vernon is not cheating with Sharon. I think Sharon is helping him with his terrible singing voice for Winterfest. I still believe Bill & Dani are endgame but I love Dani & Andre too. I am definitely enjoying this story. And making Hayley a black widow is a nice twist.
    • Sorry for the spam. Wasn't sure where to put this, it's from Tony Geary's husband's IG. Tony watching Genie and Maurice on Mo's show.
    • This show is really trundling along BTW. When is someone going to show up to slit Beastmaster's throat or crack the whip on metrosexual Sidwell? (BTW, openly presenting this cheery bon vivant as casually bisexual would at least be something vaguely diverting.) At least kill Brennan by year's end. I'm bored.
    • She told Vanessa to "DOUBLE her offer" on the Jarvis house.  The Jarvis family accepted the doubled price.  Assuming the house has an appraised value of $2,000,000, she's theoretically paid the Jarvis family $4,000,000 for the house.  The bank would loan Leslie 80% of the appraised value ($1,600,000), and Leslie had to pay the balance with cash at closing --- $2,200,000.  She only had ONE million.  Where the hell did she get the rest?!  And now she's got contractors working on the house all day & half the night.  Who's paying THEM?  I keep thinking all this will crash around her.  Either that or the writers have absolutely no idea the limits of a million dollars.  Sounds like a "lot of money", but it obviously ain't when we look at Leslie's spending since she got that million dollar check in August.

    • Vernon is an idiot. Why would he have Sharon in the same hotel that Leslie is staying at?
    • Yes, that out of the blue return was odd. Maybe GG found a forgotten clause in the contract he signed when he was wooed to ABC and they were forced to take him back! Like George Reinholt he talked about the contract that promised him primetime roles. But it was loaded in the networks favor. I think it was Gloria Loring that re-signed at Days on the promise of primetime opportunities, but that was all it was- she was put up for guest spots and TV movies but not necessarily guaranteed that she get the role.
    • I still am baffled by why Monty brought back stunt hire Gerald Gordon in the early '80s out of nowhere for like a year. I haven't found anyone who can come up with a thing he did in that second stint of note.
    • It's interesting to watch this having watched The Doctors. I'm not sure I'm seeing that much of a difference in the characters Gerald Gordon and Anna Stuart played on The Doctors and what they're playing here.
    • I keep forgetting a huge chunk of that year was written by scabs. You're probably right, because by the time the strike was over, they were likely planning an exit for Alan's character as it must have been obvious by then that Bernau was not going to return. If he was still there, it's also doubtful they would have approached MZ and MG about coming back. Wild.
