Also, here's one of my favorite openings.

I loved AW during this time period. Everytime I heard this come on I knew it was time to run to the TV!

Gosh I haven't heard that in years! Brings back a lot of memories! I have a vague memory of....I think it was Felicia...trapped in a hall of mirrors. Anyone else remember this?

Here are others that I love:

Y&R "Porn Theme" 1999-2003

Poor Camryn Grimes looks so out of place. Everyone looks like porn stars...Eric Braeden winks at the camera, Joshua Morrow gives a sex stare, Sharon Case invents the term "hair model", and even Heather Tom looks seductive! Having said that, it's still miles above the current opening.

I know! It almost seems in poor taste to have her even there!

That was a very good story, mostly. Felicia was being stalked and she became more and more terrified. This was also at a time when she for some reason started wearing her hair down long and curled, which made those episodes stand out a bit more. There was a carnival of some kind and she had a gun to protect herself, and when she was in the hall of mirrors, she fired, a mirror broke, and Jason Frame keeled over, dead.

She went on trial, and learned that her stalker had actually been an old friend from her Gold Street Days, Derek Dane, and he hadn't meant any harm, he just wanted to contact her. Then at the end of the trial, Frankie Frame, hellbent on solving brother Jason's murder, learned that Nicole Love had killed Jason, as he had been blackmailing her or threatened her or I don't remember.

It was a hatchet job on Nicole, as she was carted off to an asylum never to be seen again, but the story was good otherwise.

GH's Jack Urbont music I think was underrated. (JU also wrote the OLTL music from the late 70s/early 80s I think)

someone has the audio without the ABC announcer intruding, and it is a solid piece of music, better than the forgettable music they have now.

I definitely remember the long curly hair on Felicia. I'm not going to tell you how young I was at the time because it's very freaky that I can still recall those scenes so vividly.

Jason's death. (I miss those freeze frames!)

Look at that bumper of Rachel in the middle of the clip, which must have been like 5-10 years old.

Here's the moment where they find Jason's body.

Jack Ubront also did the much maligned GL disco opening - which I loved. I think it was ahead of its time.

I love the disco opening too. It's fun, frenetic, and draws you in -- why do you need a serious opening? Besides, the show worked well at a time when GL was in major transition.

That was it for me. I never really cared for GL until then. Well, that's not really fair. By then this little gay soap boy was trying to watch all of them and faking being sick so he could stay home to catch up.

He was, yes. I love all the ridiculous poses he did in the openings -- my favorite is when he does a karate kick into the camera. And I love the look of "oh boy" on Josh's face when he sees an attractive woman. The shots of Nola clearing not wanting to marry Floyd also work well.
