Jess Walton is indeed sexy, but her Jill has been very angry and has never had an interesting, scandalous, sexy love life. Her pairings with Rex, John Abbott again, Jed Saunders, Silva, Keith Dennison, Sean, among others were rather boring and predictable. I never understood why Bill Bell gave up on the character. When I started watching the show (1986 episodes), Jill was clearly the star of the show. Jess Walton might be a little too serious or sophisticated for the part. She is a Katherine, not a Jill.

"It's to SAVE the show! It's by design, Maria said so.

Jill rape and murder, while it's a blantant Jill Farren Phelps ripoff, is now a standard in daytime television. We will never see the Y&R that we once knew. What we need to focus on now is Y&R being like every other soap opera. Even if it's a bad ripoff or parody of what the competitors are doing. Just look at these graphs: a new writing regime(new devil) coming in won't matter anyway. The ratings are just going to continue to decline.

There is no 'gold standard' in daytime. Tom Casiello said so on Twitter.

You guys can pout all you want, but you haven't even seen the finished product. I am actually looking forward to this psychological drama. Will be interesting to try and figure out the mystery, even though we see Ryder is brooding and in every single scene after Jill's, holding a knife in his hand talking to Daisy. But hey, if it IS Ryder, I just look forward to the REDEMPTION ARC, because even Jeffrey Dahmner deserves a second chance and so does Ryder. And hey, it worked well for Adam. Look at this image of Michael Muhney explaining how he can pork Rafe, but still be attracted to women. He sent it in a tweet.

And that, my friends, is not hack writing. That is a symphony of colors and moods and beauty blending together to form this one beautiful work that keeps me sane amid all the troubles I hear about on the Evening News: The Young and the Restless."
