ATWT: P&G offering contest for a walk-on role

Have you seen the new TV commercial for Cheer that features a soap opera-ish plot (a woman wakes from a coma and has to choose between her boyfriend and the hunky doc) and music? That's not just a one shot thing. Procter and Gamble have actually created an online soap called Brighten Bay, and they're holding a contest. The winner gets a walk-on role on CBS' As The World Turns.

Hey, maybe if the contest is a hit they'll reconsider canceling the show. (Note: not likely.)

Too little, too late: all about selling a few extra bottles of soap before Sept. My only other guess is that this is some final 'test' to see if ATWT can generate a new revenue stream. If this were possible, doing something like major product placement, maybe they are thinking cable. They should have been doing this for years. They should also cross Brighter Day over onto World Turns for a few shows. Use that Doc at the hospital the next time someone gets sick. He could help Emily out of her coma with an IV of Cheer...lol
