TPTB have done so much damage to Nick & Billy their grudges against Adam look petty at best.

Very true.

Not one character on this show seems to have any sympathetic qualities, they're all either stupid or unsympathetic.

This show has caricatures, not defined characters.

Nick & Billy have a LOT of reasons to have issues with Adam but the writing & acting has completely undercut everything.

And in spite of the horrible writing & Muhney's tics Adam ends up rootable BECAUSE of it.

Do you think it's intentional? They seem to be trying their best to present Adam as some romantic hero at times, and then other times, he's supposed to be evil. Do they even have a clear vision for this character in this "storyline"?

This story should be about the women and their realization of what Adam is. Nick being involved is one thing, but Billy, whose only involvement with Sharon was screwing her a few times and hiring her for five minutes, and who barely notices Ashley unless he needs money or some hero complex, sticks out like a sore thumb.

Are all these big macho faceoffs and foot stamps really supposed to be entertaining? I just see it as tedious. I think they believe the audience swoons when the men are around each other. But it always turns out like the cartoons where Olive Oyl gets hit in the face.

Nope.

TPTB & Muhney have done a good job to an extent at establishing Adam as an antihero.

I don't think TPTB have ever intended for Adam to be viewed as someone TO root for or as a romantic hero but with the writing for the other characters lacking & the atrocious pacing the dimension TPTB have tried to give Adam stands out.

Exactly.

TPTB KNOW Morrow can't carry stuff which is why he's been repeatedly marginalized & Miller isn't doing much but playing himself. lol

I guess it doesn't matter anymore with all the badly realized agendas this writing teams tries to force on the audience, despite their intelligence and the history of the show and the characters.

Pretty much.

TPTB only care about one thing.

Profits.

The contempt they have for their audience is awful.

No spoilers, but soapydoc tweeted this about Friday's Y&R episode. I can't wait!

soapydoc Toni on her spoiler site LOVED tomorrow's Y&R show so much, she started her recap with her thoughts because she couldn't wait til the end.

soapydoc She said it is the BEST show she has seen in ages. High praise from a very cynical source.

[url=http://twitter.com/soapydoc]soapydoc She was so excited to put up the recap she said she didn't even care to spell check it. LOL!

Okay, I have read it. It is definitely "big emotional stakes" and "major reveals" and "gathering storms" and "getting ready for February sweeps".

All from one episode?

I'll just wait for sweeps to get there, and given these writers, I do not expect much, given how sloppy the execution of these stories and the day to day writing is.

I'm glad you found some excitement, but very little on this show is interesting to me right now, I can't imagine Feb sweeps.

Are you excited about the Adam stuff tomorrow?

Because the LAME, Mac/Billy, and Ashley/Neil stuff sure as hell isn't exciting in Friday's episode....

Let me guess -- Traci will fall and drown in a frozen pond while trying to save Daisy. Ashley is devastated and begins stealing paperclips from Jabot, and has threeways with Tucker and Jojo. Sharon helps pull her back from the brink, and Ashley and Sharon both look on at the cliffhanger of baby Faith throwing a block at Adam's head.

If we don't like the stories now, we definitely won't be liking Feb sweeps, even as some of them climax and end.

Especially if we care about long-term story, and not splashy climax episodes.
