ALL: "We're Gonna Turn This Show Back Around!"

I had forgotten about the Carly one. He also said he never got Jack and Carly, or whatever, didn't he? I kept thinking, "Well, you had Jack raped and treated it as wacky hijinks, so apparently not."

I'm not sure he said he never got Jack and Carly---but there was some kind of quote about him trying to sink them like the Titanic, and the Carjack fans keeping coming back or something.a

Ironic that his men were "ball-less", and his epitome of manliness were Craig, Dusty and RH's Paul. UGH.

Oh, and one of Pissanante's first interviews she took credit for Bryant's death and how that was about "humanizing" Craig. To this day Craig is the same self-absorbed, amoral douchebag he was the day Hunt Block's Craig ignored Carly's pleas for help in Hong Kong and asked "what's in it for me?"

I instantly thought of both Ken Corday and Brad Bell when I saw this topic:

"What Ken and I both agree on is that Jim is the right guy to be the creative leader overseeing the next wave of stories for Days. We saw in Jim someone who had a proven track record, and we wanted to bring him back."--Former NBC Daytime President Sheraton Kalouria on JER's 2003 return.

"I won't deny we were looking for a shocking, ambiguous moment...but I am not comfortable labeling it rape. In my mind, it is not rape." --Kay Alden on Paul's rape of Christine. Since then we've seen lots of so call ambiguous rape.

"We've tried to keep the family groups intact, so our audience over the years can continue to identify with these core characters. We do it for the grandmothers, mothers and fathers and children who grew up with the show, and to attract new generations of audience."--Paul Rauch on GL's 65th anniversary. What a BS statement for him to make.

I remember Sheffer making that very same giving the men their balls back comment referring to the guys on DAYS. I think it was in reference to Bo?

Yes, it was. Apparently Bo and his balls were safe on the backburner for Sheffer's whole run.

I remember a lot of the same "I don't know anything about this show" type of stuff that he also peddled at ATWT. I guess he may have expected to get the same savior reaction he got at ATWT.

Oh, and he said he wanted to make Lucas and Sami funny again.

Lucas: RAGERAGERAGERAGE

Sami: CRYCRYCRYCRY

My sides are splitting.

I was wrong about the quote with dating his niece. He said it hypothetically, that he'd never let his brother date his daughter just because she was adopted. Sorry about that. I have too many interview comments rattling in my head.

Dena Higley re: OLTL said something like "Jenn will leave in a fun way."

... which meant murdered a the hands of a down low D.A.

David Paulsen was in charge during the final season of Dynasty. He wrote like many seasons of Dallas, the best stuff Dallas ever saw. He also turned the show around after the dream season. I wouldn't credit B&E with the success of the final season of Dynasty.

To be fair when they wrote Loving and the Murders they wer ejust moving on to The City (where I liked much of their work)

What else was he involved with? He sounds good.

If we listed Pratt quotes we'd be here all day. :P I still can't believe those quotes he gave about Jamie Luner.

Here's a quote from MAB back in the summer that had me rolling my eyes. Now when I think about it I just laugh.

"One of our 'young' storylines this summer involves Daniel in a story of intrigue, jeopardy, and romance, and how it will affect him, Amber, Kevin and Jana. To me Daniel is a compelling character and exciting to watch. And it's because of that that I think [the storyline will] be a must-watch amoung viewers- young and old alike." -from SOD

Guza's quotes about how his current sweeps storyline was going to be like nothing seen on daytime are also worth mentioning.

Didn't she tell us the summer was going to be fun and romance? I think she writes Bizarro Y&R.

Who could forget these modern classics from the incompetent Maria Arena Bell?

http://tvguide.ca/Soaps/Features/Articles/090526_maria_arena_bell_NB

MAB: Absolutely! You know what — I would never edit or prevent any actor from talking about their personal life in the press, whether they are gay, straight or whatever. As far as it comes to Y&R, I felt it was important to introduce characters from all walks of life on our show. I disagree that Rafe announcing to his friend that he’s gay was our first gay storyline because it was just a fact of his life. It’s like, “yeah, so what — what do you want for lunch?” But — we do have a gay storyline in the works. Perhaps more than one. And more than one gay character. More importantly, the gay storyline we’re planning on telling will reflect real life. I couldn’t be happier.

http://www.tvguide.ca/Soaps/Features/Articles/090903_tales_from_red_carpet_NB.htm

Y&R will cease to exist on Ma Bell’s show! Thank God, I wasn’t an under-five during LML! [Out loud] You know I love your show, but it’s been uneven in the past few months … do you agree?

MAB: You know, we respect your opinion, Nelson, but I don’t think it’s been uneven. We had a lot of intense storylines this past summer … and what you’re going to see is a convergence — and you saw it last week with Gloria and Jeffrey intersecting with everything. It’s all by design, really. Trust me — in the next few weeks, you’re [not going to be complaining …]

Sometimes I feel like he's [bill Bell] is watching over my shoulders as I write.

Lying, arrogant, and incompetent bitch...

Tell us how you really feel.

I picture Clare from Hollyoaks saying that

“These are not youngsters struggling to make mortgage payments or feed their children,” Ms. McTavish said. “Their sole intent now seems to be piling up more money for themselves.”

It's not about AMC directly, as much as it is about B&E going FiCore during the strike to write it... but it still goes down in my book as a major STFU!

LMAO!

I always found it humorous how Megan McTavish, of all people, would be incensed about writers going Fi-Core. What's the matter, Meg? Afraid they'll do a better job while you're away?

Well, it was certainly fun for those who hated the b*tch!

I thought we'd all stopped hating her by then!
