Robert and Pat Dineen 1961 North American Championships FD

Rare, rare TV footage of Robert and Pat Dineen competing in ice dance at the 1961 North American Championships, just days before their ill-fated flight to the Worlds in Prague. They were not shown in the CBS broadcast of the 1961 US National Championships, which makes this clip even more special

The last time the world championships were canceled was 1961 - 50 years ago when the entire U.S. world team, along with coaches, family members, officials and judges were killed in a plane crash en route to the championships in Prague.

Anyone else here watching or at least keeping up with the World Championships? I don't have the money to shell out for internet feed and I don't have NBC Universal so I have to keep up on the boards and what not.

After the horrible year he's had I'm glad that Nobunari Oda is doing well so far. Hopefully he can have a great free skate. The US men aren't doing to bad considering. There less than a point away from each other.

Here's a link to the standings if anyone is interested http://www.isuresult...results/wc2011/
