The stupidity that is Amanda. When David presented her with this proposal about wanting another baby with her so that Trevor can have a sibling WHY didnt she tell him that he will after she and her HUSBAND Jake start having children? I was waiting for this to come up but nope it didnt. She does realize that any children she has with Jake will be a sibling to Trevor's right? That would have been the perfect counterpoint to David's ludicrious suggestion but for some reason it didnt pop into her head. I cant beleive she is actually contemplating taking him up on his offer. She cant even get custody of the one child she has with this guy. How does she think she can handle fighting him for 2?

I never got any love or feelings from Annie for Adam but her last scene today had her expressing it and talking about how she's trying to protect him. Thing is she said all of this alone so she wasnt in a position to lie or manipulate anyone. So does she actually have feelings for the guy?

Sticking her tongue down Scott's throat is an odd way to show her feelings.

I've never bought that she cares about Adam, she has just used him and his money. I think they may be trying to rectify that now, but her character changes personalities so much, it's hard to tell.

What would that accomplish? David wants Trevor to have a full blooded sibling. Amanda bringing up creating a sibling with Jake would do absolutely nothing to help her cause. Sure, it would give the Jake and Amanda fans a little bone to beat David in the head with, but ultimately doesn't change the fact that David wants another child with Amanda. I know, I know, he already has one. He wants another one. As in, "in addition to" the one he already has.

That's typically why they have scenes like these.

full blood sibling vs half sibling...whats the difference? A sibling is a sibling. Part of his argument is that he doesnt want Trevor to grow up alone. Amanda' future children with Jake would accomplish teh same goal for Trevor than any child with David. Besides David brought up Tim in his argument to sway Amanda calling on her memories growing up with a brother. Well Tim is a half sibling to Amanda, not a full blooded one

You're going out of your way not to get this, Cheap. David wants another child with Amanda. It's just that simple. If Amanda has a child with Jake... it's Jake and Amanda's child... not David's! There are those weird, perverted, beyond sick sons of bitches out there that actually want their children to share the same parents. As old fashioned and just plain David-Psycho as it may sound... those people do exist. Granted, you'll have to search in caves and under bridges, but they're out there!

no I get that but Amanda however does not. David did not say any of that in his proposal to Amanda. He simply told her that he wanted a sibling for Trevor and she bought it. I thought Amanda should have told him that he will get one when she gets pregnant by Jake, which would lead to David responding to that. Instead she made things way to easy for him and doesnt see the bigger picture and what he's after

What the [!@#$%^&*] is this, The Handmaiden's Tale? Why is Amanda just obligated to pump out another Gut-baby just because The Gut demands it? Isn't she with Jake? What claim does David's crazy ass have on her, exactly? Why are these people so stupid and afraid of The Gut's "powwaaahhhh"? Don't they remember he tried to commit genocide at a Fourth Of July picnic?! He tried to go all Jonestown up in this bitch! Call Anna Devane, she'll tell you!

As for Annie, what a [!@#$%^&*] mess they've made of this. Initially, when I heard of the plans, I was actually all for Adam/Annie and even Ryan/Erica - I thought they were interesting, innovative ideas that could have worked, with Adam and Annie especially harkening back to classic soap old/young pairings, sort of a riff on Mac and Rachel or Asa Buchanan and his bevy of Pretty Young Things. So of course Pratt fucked this sideways. Just like at GH, Pratt writes he's still doing primetime plotting and scripting, which comes off extremely slapdash, lazy and ADHD in a 5-day-a-week daytime pace. Who is Annie? What does she want? Why does she do what she does? Does she make any sense at all? They had potential gold with Melissa Egan as quasi-reformed psycho Annie, but Pratt has mangled her into this sort of scrambled Kimberly Shaw clone who alternately is either nuts, or [!@#$%^&*] around on Adam with his young relatives while taking his money, or secretly really in love with him...what? What is it? Who is she? They're wrecking this character who actually had potential. Who gives a [!@#$%^&*]? She's become another Pratt blow-up doll: Flip one switch and she does 'psycho.' Flip the other and she plays 'whore.' Two settings, no dimension. Pratt did this to another promising actress on GH - Cynthia Preston, who played Faith Rosco. Same type of character.

I expected Amanda to at least mention having children with Jake, too.

I think Annie eventually developed feelings for Adam even though initially she was just using him to stay out of jail.

I thought David, as a doctor, would bring up the viability of a full sibling in case of a medical problem. At least then it would have made sense for Amanda to consider his offer. I bet Pratt and/or Rebecca Taylor didn't know Tim was just her step-brother.

Annie's redemption under Pratt was originally quite entertaining, but then he decided to return her to psycho form and imo that's when Annie stopped working as a character. She has no clear purpose or motives.

 I agree with you. On soaps they either try to push the agenda that biology is everything or that it is nothing depending on what fits the plot. There is no middle ground or understanding that it can mean different things to different people or mean something, but not everything. I definitely think it's legitimate for someone to want their child to have a full sibling, just like it's legitimate for people to adopt and consider that child a full sibling to their biological child. Anyway, Trevor already has a sibling in Marissa and she's the best kind. One that could plausibly take over raising him, if it ever became necessary. It's hard for me to accept that David wants another child with an idiot like Amanda.

Hey I feel Ihave to stick up for my mand Byron here. He may have done some shocking thingsa t the time (like have several male lovers) but back then cousins marrying actually wasn't all that weird--especially distant cousins. Besides the theories that suggest it was for his cousin also say it was written when he first met her at a family funeral and wa staken with her exdtreme beauty--it's an ode to her beauty not to their love (which might not be a big distinction but...)

Oh yeah--AMC well umm I agree with most on here. What I found intereesting was after whats eemed like months of having Aiden and Kendall barely even hang iout, they brought back their friendship hardcore this time.

    • I’ve been enjoying the pace the show has taken recently. Things don’t languish as long as they have and if they are drawing something out, like Gio’s adoption, it’s hasn’t been as excruciating. Also, my nosey nature would appreciate less interaction with posters I have on ignore so I don’t have to click on “options”.

    • Okay...I'm just going to call it. Ambyr Michelle is the breakout star of this show with the young set hands down! There is no character like Eva that pulls my heart strings, and she's playing it perfectly. If Eva and Leslie are on, it's a good episode! If written properly, Eva and Kat's rivalry is one that could go on for YEARS. Of course, it's fun to speculate about who is really whom, but I could see them developing as frenemies after some time. They really need a guy to tussle over to amp it up. Tomas is pretty, but the actor has got to loosen up some in his scenes, I think. He is improving though. It would be good to introduce a new young man in that story for a foursome.  Martin and Smitty finally feel like a real couple to me, too. Hopefully, they locked them into four year contracts.
    • I'll be that guy and say I don't think TMG is a fool. This is a popular contract role on a year-round soap opera for a woman of a certain age (to say nothing of a woman of color). If I'm her I pull a Kimberlin Brown and ride this til the wheels fall off.
    • Tbf it's not unusual for a family when they are dealing with some bad news that changes a life to use song to give out hope.Especially black families. I personally had to deal with that very thing this weekend. Partly off putting, but at the same time, I did get the point and it gave me a bit of hope in the moment.      MM is definitely acting. But Smitty is just so passive. It could turn into quiet strength at some point, but for now...passive IMO.
    • Am I remembering correctly that the Madison's lived in a Spanish revival-style house? I have a vague recollection of the fireplace looking especially Spanish in style. It is unusual that Montecello had so many architectural styles.  Obviously, that might occur IRL.  But, look at other east coast soaps and there is a definitive style that is throughout (because it was styled by a set decorator) regardless of the income of the occupants.
    • @kalbir MSW was a powerhouse for CBS. Angela Lansbury was a superb actress. In 1985, TV viewers were tiring of the primetime soaps and the like. People wanted storytelling and MSW was great at that and had great guest stars. Storytelling -- an amazing and novel concept. CBS Daytime by 1985 was beating ABC so CBS was on the upswing.
    • I'd say just the opposite - conflict means they will find out and then be at odds. For the limited amount of time people on this show have conflict (if they aren't named Nina or Ric, I guess).
    • Totes mcgoats (aka I agree). But, now the character needs to move forward.  Clyde's exit was 12/11/24.  It is May.  She and Chad have been on one date. I don't think they've slept together. And she was only planning on sticking around for a year.
    • That is one of the best insults I've heard in a long time.  I burst out laughing when Kat called Eva that.  LOL Their scenes, of course, were really good.  Colby and Ambyr have so much chemistry.  The only thing I'd change is Kat saying "you're dead to me."  That's a phrase usually said about someone you care about.  I would've preferred something like "You will never be my sister," or something similar to that.  Nice contrast at the end with both mothers/daughters:  Kat comforting/consoling her mother, and Eva being locked out by her mother.  Yeah, I wasn't a big of fan of the singing either, especially after your daughter's life has been destroyed.  What?  LOL And I also agree with those that thought Dana/Leslie's scenes with the Dupree's didn't feel right since Eva is not a Dupree....unless she is.  But as of right now, she's not.
    • Trisha Mann-Grant, Ambyr Michelle, Sean Freeman are destined for bigger and better things. They need to move on as soon as their initial contracts are done.
