I don't understand how anyone can be enthralled by a story that features Adam. I have no problem with a Nick Vs. Adam story, but I do have a problem with Adam, and how he seems to be getting away with murder. I've watched countless villains over the years - and no matter what despicable things they've done - at the centre of their characters, there has always been a shred of humanity. I don't see that with Adam, and what little "remorse" he has felt, always seems to be too little too late. He's committed too many evil, vile, heinous crimes, to be redeemed, let alone tolerated, while he cooks up yet another machination.

Maybe, if he had stopped his torture of Ashley after she lost her baby, all the while tormented with guilt, as she carried on with her pregnancy, then, and only possibly, might he have a redeeming chance. But they wrote him as callous, a man without remorse, he continued to torture Ashley, without any real motive, taking out Rafe and Heather along the way, teaming up with Patty, and eventually stealing Sharon's baby, and telling her it died. Seriously, how do you come back from all that?

How do you follow this character into a sibling rivalry storyline, and actually say it may have promise, after every heinous act he's done. There really isn't a word that describes just how terrible his actions are. I don't want to have to wait 12 months, let alone 1 month, to see him get his just deserts; I don't want to see him built up into leading man potential; I don't want to see him move in with the woman he's mentally tortured and unborn baby he's murdered; I don't want to see him schmooze closer to the woman he's made believe her baby is dead; I don't want to see him, period.

Morally, this whole scenario is wrong, which is why I refuse to watch anything he's in. I wish the rest of the show was better, so I could at least watch some Y&R, but it isn't. And that sucks.

I totally agree with every detail in your post. Especially the last part.

Not to get off the original topic, but I wonder if Maria Arena Bell was a fan of Dynasty circa 1982-1985, because the Newmans are totally reminding me of that show at that time. Think about these character comparisons:

Victor/Blake

Nikki/Alexis

Ashley/Krystle

Victoria/Fallon

Nicholas/Steven

Adam Wilson/Adam Carrington

Abby/Amanda

JT/Jeff

Phyllis/Sammy Jo

Sharon/Claudia

I really don't understand the Y&R hate. Although some of the stories haven't played out the way I would have liked, I have never doubted the intent of the regime. I don't have any faith in ATWT or AMC, but do believe Y&R realizes they have made some mistakes and wants to rectify them. Things don't change over night. The Adam-Sharon-Nick triangle, and the end of Billy and Mac is a step in the right direction though. ZZZZZ to Cane and Lily, but accept that people like them.

How can Y&R admit to Mistakes? When MAB just gave an interview stating she haven't done any.

Anyway, I love all the spoilers but Boring Cane & Lily. Really, she said mad at Cane lies for a couple of weeks where she deny him sex. Really!

I just hope Sharon don't have sex with Adam.

This is fascinating. Also kind of creepy. LOL!

Adam always did remind me of Adam C on Dynasty.. Years ago under Bill Bell, as far back as the 80's Y&R reminded of a slow version of Dynasty. I have to wonder myself if Bell was a fan of Dynasty. Y&R was not always about these super rich Abbot and Newman familes until the mass exoudos in the 80's right when Dynasty was at it's peak and Bell refocused the show

Couldn't agree more. I mean, it could be better, but it's still good.

Maybe being a survivor of B&B 2005-2007 has made me immune to Y&R's bad patches. I don't know.

BTW, did anybody see Muhney on Monday (I think) with Victoria and Michael? That was the first day I felt MM as Adam. The way Vamptoria and Jazz-Hands ganged up on him, and he just exposed them for the snobs they were. I was rooting for him. Rooting for the psycho!

I've never understood the Muhney hate. I think he acts circles around Engen.

It's funny...for me, I'd tolerate six returns from the dead and doppelgangers on B&B....but they INFURIATE me on Y&R. They're just different shows (or they used to be).

I agree on Engen vs. Muhney. Engen was a cute little fuzzball and all, but he got by on his cuteness, not his acting. If you don't believe it, just watch those scenes where he tried to cry.

Muhney is NOT cute...but he's actually delivering layers in his performance. Now, especially, as he moves out of this one-note horror show of baby-burning/crazy-driving, and has a corporate life and a love life (I know Alvin just threw up when I typed that), I think we'll see he has some range.

The problem for me with Muhney is he's so cold. I haven't seen him have chemistry with anyone. I saw none with Vail Bloom, and I never really saw any with Eileen Davidson either.

I haven't seen any layers, it's all been flat and over the top cartoon antics from my view. This guy is seriously miscast.

Lily's cancer and Cane’s lies have kept the pair from being intimate. They're going to shatter through the issues that have kept them physically apart, and make love for the first time in a long time. Their love story is going to be refreshed. They start making some huge plans for the future.

Oh spare me with the notion that Cane and Lily are this big grand love story. They are a hideous pile of lameness.

It's always the same story with LAME every 5 months. They get back together, something comes between them (in this case, cancer) then they get their reunion, and then the cycle repeats.

The sad thing is, LAME is the only romance these hack writers want to write. How sad.

Once he started framing poor Estella, I started hating him. Didn't care what he did to Victor or Ashley. LOL!
