Good thing this is in the spoiler section, I wonder how they are going to try and pin Ashley's gaslighting on Victor instead of Adam before he leaves. I suspect that is so that we can see what we've always wanted, the man who washed up Ashley's bloody post miscarriage lady parts get to stick his dick in them. YUCK!

Oh please, this Mary Jane storyline was planned for months, and if Maria wanted to give him a better exit story, she could have done so easily. No matter how badly Victor is written, he is still a popular character and a core character, nothing will change that, not even the most horrible of writing.

And in 2007, and he never spoke out against the destruction she was causing to the show until AFTER she was fired.

I am not a fan of Victor these days (that forged diary story and the way he treated Nikki was the last nail in the coffin for me), but I do appreciate Eric Braeden calling out those leaks.

Those leaks have really pushed my buttons, as they always seem to paint hardworking, longtime vets in a negative light. Jess Walton, whom I've never heard a bad word about, suddenly pushed as some type of selfish diva who needs to take the cuts and STFU. Melody painted as a diva who needs to take the cuts and STFU.

My two cents: Victor is not this viewer's favorite character however he's an incredibly intriguing character. Whther or not EB plays a short extension of himself he has built a staple within a staple (with all due credit to BB creative genius as well). From a writer's perspective I would love to write a Victor Newman, easily one of the most complicated, dark grey, intriguingly appealing, most interesting characters evolve on Television. I know many viewers (casual and not) who's sole excuse for watching anything Y&R related to be Victor Newman. I didn't need Victor Newman to leave to stop watching Y&R these "brilliant" minds penning and producing the show are reasons enough however, I can say with certainty if they don't fix this they obviously are prepared for the very end of this program, cumulatively it will start to (at an even faster rate than now) negatively affect the show overall.

i think people read way to much into some things.

i doubt dony is forcing story on mab & co, and even if they are thats no excuse. the show is awful every what way you look, not just storylines. furthermore, the fact that he praised MAB means nothing, really. She isnt doing his contract so he doesnt have beef with her, furthermore as far as saying he likes the writing and then abshing where it took his character you have to step into an actors shoes, not a fans. its possible he loved acting all of that out but hates where it has taken his character. ya never know.

he does have a massive ego, thats for damn sure tho. lol.

And the leaks have mostly been coming from MAB's new favorite soap gossip Nelson Branco. The Bells and Sony are playing hardball which is not surprising unfortunately. It is how management and ownership rolls.

I am sympathetic to the actors forced to take huge cuts. They have kids to send to college and usually multiple mortgages for houses that they cannot easily sell in this market. It is difficult to have their income cut by 30 to 50%, but most of them are going to have to take the pay cut and be happy that they still have a job.

Oh, thank goodness for Eric Braeden. He is always such an entertaining read. Mustache says exactly what he wants and doesn't sugarcoat anything.

I don't get the whole MAB is great/Sony is [!@#$%^&*] disconnect, especially about his exit SL which, as he points out, was months in the making and so MAB must have known what she was doing when she wrote it. Heck, when she hired Stacy Haiduk in the first place -- right around... 26 weeks ago! What a coincidence! Maybe he likes MAB on a personal level and doesn't want to deal with the fact that her writing enabled Sony to force his hand on this contract issue.

I hate Victor and all the Newmans right now, but surely a Melody and Eric are worth keeping on the show as opposed to say, Chance and Mac and Vamptoria and JT. Heck, Lily and cane can go, too. I know they have a fanbase, but surely it isn't anything as strong as JT & Colleen had back in the day and which, according to TPTB, means absolutely nothing now.

YR w/o Eric Braiden is like hmmmm Days w/o Deidri Hall? face it people it happens. If he is dumb enough to not want a pay cut then maybe they should look at the other availble vets out there that are willing to work for less..and guys Days is doing great w/o its Star.(i am a deidri hall fan too)

I just wonder if Y&R has the same support system in place that DAYS did when they wrote Deirdre out. They have marginalized or fired many of their older actors. If/When Eric goes, they will just use that as a further reason to get rid of Nikki, Jill, Paul, and bring in more new faces.

   Eric Braeden is paraplegic? Has had botox? No, the old coot is still stomping around in his boxing gloves. Ya got dat?

Why are we arguing about Braeden and Hall? Apples and pears. They were on two very different and very differently run shows. Plus Hollywood has always been misogynistic.
