OLTL Casting

I can see Natalie/Jared, Langston/Markko, and Layla/Christian leaving along with Shaun and the Evans parents. They could even let Marty go so SH and TK can make the move to LA.

I don't know if they'd let Marty go, as they made such effort to bring her back, but I think they might be better off writing her out as they have no role for her. I think they would keep Natalie, but I can see them getting rid of Jared. I think both he and Charlie could go at any time, Frons has made sure their characters are not integrated.

My first reaction to this news is...well, puzzlement. OLTL already has a HUGE cast fighting for airtime. There are so many A and B storylines going on that I have to wonder how and where Kelly will fit in. OLTL needs a major hedge trimming cast wise, and GT's return may be the impetus for that.

I agree Dale. And OLTL is killing me here. Everytime I turn on my computer the past few days, I find that I have yet another casting article to write. It's all I can do to keep with up with all this.

Everybody's coming but no one seems to be leaving.

If we started a fan campaign I wonder if they would consider moving Rex, Gigi, and Stacy to AMC. I'm sure the actors might be able to relocate, and they would fit AMC, which could use some fresh blood.

It'll be interesting to see her take on Kelly this time around.

She REALLY blossomed as an actress on GL, and Dinah turned out to be her dream role. I wonder if Kelly will come back slightly altered and more in touch with her neurotic side, which Gina really excelled at as Dinah. But she can do anything from hard drama to straight comedy. She also seems to have chemistry with just about everyone.

Carl, AMC would have to get rid of some cast to make room for Rex, Gigi, and Stacy. Right now, I want them to offer Daniel Kennedy a contract so he can go to LA with the show.

That's what I was thinking. They just keep adding people and adding people. OLTL is the soap equivalent of Heroes.

I don't know to take this as good or bad news. OLTL isn't all that great either right now. But then again she could have gone to Y&R and have had her character being written as someone's doormat or something.

Compared to what though? That's the problem. Is there a show that's doing better than OLTL right now in terms of writing and execution? I really don't think so. That doesn't mean OLTL is great by any means, but I think budget cuts and mediocre writing is hitting every show. Many Y&R fans are pissed right now (add me to that list), ATWT is struggling, B&B is pretty much always trash, GH is what it is, AMC just got off of a week using the same set because the budget is so tight.

There are days that don't pop quite like others, but I find OLTL by far to be the most watchable soap in ABC's lineup. And this is coming from a kid who drank AMC from the titty.

I don't think OLTL will get rid off anyone for Gina. I think they want a bigger cast. It's okay that not everyone gets camera time all the time--really. I'm sorry if your favorites are always on camera but that's fine. Everyday we get a good mix of cast and stories--it's not perfect but it works. OLTL's cast hasn't gotten too big yet so it's okay.

I can only imagine what OLTL could pull off if not for budget cuts and network interference. To be as good as it is under current circumstances says a lot about the people who run that show.
