The music in that promo is just...odd, lol.

It is creepy isn't it? Somehow I like it though. I want to know what is wrong with these people.

Bert Bauer, Mike Bauer, Ed Bauer, OG Holly Norris, Janet Norris, Peggy Scott, Leslie Jackson, Steve Jackson, Wilson Frost, Sara McIntyre, Ken Norris, Adam Thorpe, Barbara Norris.

Don't ask me to name 85% of the characters from the final few decades of the show, LOL, but when TGL was great, its characters were memorable.

Thank you @Sapounopera.

I enjoyed seeing that. It sure brought back a lot of memories!

I remember all except Wilson Frost-the guy with the dark hair

He wasn't on very long, and never was a major character, so I doubt many viewers remember him. It's like Pam Chandler and Tim Ryan; most folks today have no clue who they are/were.

I recall reading an interview with Maureen Garrett in which I believe she said TPTB wanted her to dye her hair blonde to match the hair color of Lynn Deerfield's hair. I can't imagine Holly without red hair!

I don't think CBS was used to doing a lot of promos back then and certainly not as polished as the ABC Love in the Afternoon promos that would later come

I mean, the montage of scenes and character shots in that promo was fast-paced enough.  But that music!  That might have worked as a "sting" at the end of a particularly suspenseful scene, but for a promo, I think something a bit more soothing, for lack of a better word, was needed.

Two questions:

1. Did SoapClassics only release 5 dvd collections? They didn't do any couple focused ones?

ATWT Lily & Holden Disk 1 & Disk 2

ATWT Carjack I think just 1 disk. Had it but it's gotten misplaced. No longer have it.

 I count 7 ATWT disks.

GL I count 8 disks. No couples.

And, I did not get everything.

Does anyone know a backdoor way into the We Love Soaps website?

Neither can I. Maureen Garrett being a redhead set her apart from the sea of blondes that permeated CBS Daytime in the late 1980s and early 1990s.

CBS didn't step up their promo game until Summer 1985 Feel the Heat, which to me will forever be the GOAT of soap promos.

CBS Daytime promos for their soaps from 1985-1987 were *chef’s kiss*.

I think it helped to have a lineup that was pretty strong.  Even CAPITOL, arguably the weakest CBS soap, had its' moments (and glamour and panache to spare).

CBS had the best promos BITD, especially Summer promos 1985-1987. Feel the Heat, The Heat of Heat, Addicted to Love.
