I think the idea was that she was self-sacrificing and if she couldn't have Kelly she wanted someone good and pure like Morgan to have him. Which is fine, but not when taken to this extreme. To me that would have been interesting to explore - seeing her get overinvested and controlling to make up for not being Kelly's girlfriend/wife.

Katie served the self-sacrificing role much better imho. Didn't she always step aside anytime a guy had interest in someone other then herself? I don't think a character like Katie would exist nowadays on a soap.

She came on the show as a dumb cigarette girl who loved old movies. She slept with Danny. She later revealed herself as a fed and dated Rick and Frank.

The character was heavily panned and left after about 5-6 months, I think.

Frank Beatty…he mentions he wants to return to acting and do another soap.

Possibly. I'm just glad I watched them all before they were taken down. I seriously hate P&G, if it was them who reported the YT account, sometimes. If they would open their vault and share clips and sell DVDs again, soap fans wouldn't post clips on YT. They'd stock up on the DVDs.

Those are the episodes that are still up on YT - the ones that were on on the Soap Classics set! Its the recent ones that everyone's been chatting about from late 1981 and mid 1982 that are now gone.

It's disappointing, regardless. I could understand if they were officially out (or had been out) on DVD, but they were clearly not of broadcast quality, and certainly wouldn't harm any current campaign that P&G are touting for the classic soaps...

...oh, wait - they don't HAVE one! Like Nothin'ButAttitude pointed out above, if they would just release them officially, fans wouldn't be taking this into their own hands.

They uploaded some Y&R material, along with Peyton Place (a lot of Peyton Place), so that may be it.

I've talked to them some a little and they were always friendly, no ego like many on YT. It sucks that this happened to them.

I've done so as well and you're absolutely right. I wish I had their email or something just to keep in touch and talk some more about the early '80s.

I'm friendly with some of the other uploaded (not terribly much so) and you're right about CG's lack of ego. I appreciate how much they like talking about the show as well as upload it.
