It's a shame they don't cast DAM, but then, OLTL wouldn't know what to do if they had a proper leading man.

I am waiting for news about DAM, RN and maybe GA joining OLTL - think KZ has got viewers to tune in.

Thanks for listing those. I didn't realize that Kelly and Morgan were married in 1981, although of course they had to be. I also thought Roger/Holly were earlier than 1979.

Kathy sure got around in 1952.

You know, as harsh as we were toward certain "heroines" on GUIDING LIGHT at the end, I wonder what sort of reaction Kathy and Robin would've received from the audience had there been such a thing as the Internet back then. I heart GL like nothing else in this world, but even I gotta admit their stories seemed irksome (at least, on paper).

I think people might have really enjoyed Robin since she was so complicated and she was eventually played by Gillian Spencer, who, I don't believe, was ever unpopular in any soap role she played. Kathy seems like a mess, although that isn't helped by the annoying voice of the woman who played her in those 1952/3 episodes I've seen.

I wonder why they replaced the woman who initially played Meta.

I always wonder how fans at the time felt about seeing Peggy just basically disappear.

What I'd most love to know is how people would have reacted to Bert at the time and also how they reacted when she began to mature. Would they hate her? Would they love her as a bitch? Would they say that her maturing was "dull" or "character assassination"? Would they blast her as being a hypocrite?

Charita was such a delight as bitchy Bert I almost wish that had come back a little later on, as that does tend to happen to some older people.

I thought there was quite the viewer turnout with Kathy Roberts' death. I've heard they had to up Kathy's age a little bit once the actress started appearing on TV because she was supposed to quite younger on the radio. Sort of like the William Conrad situation. I would have liked to see the Internet's reaction to 1984 GL and 80s Reva...probably not a single fat joke then. ^_^

I always wish Bert and Bill would have had a daughter.

That wedding list is interesting. I know through old episodes I've seen Phillip and Blake's infamous wedding in 1989 and later seen Ric Hearst and Sherry Stingfield having mad sex but how exactly did Blake go from Phillip to A-M within months? I think Harley left A-M for Dylan, I remember seeing clips of Carl Tye Evans' A-M getting into a brawl with Dylan at a swimming pool.

I really like both of these. The first is from the December 15 87 Digest and the second is from the July 10 90. Network Publishing Co and News America Publishing. I still remember some of those old "Gimme the Buzz" ads (Mindy's one fast chick, better catch her if he can).

Yeah she does. I like the vibe of that picture. It's something which GL ignored when they turned Maureen into a frump.

You're a Maureen Garrett fan, right? I had wanted to remind you that her RH episodes are on again. Also I was going to post an interview with her from 90 or so, although you might have already read it. She has some very harrowing details about why she decided to become an actress -- basically when she hitchhiked, she was hit on the head by the guy who picked her up, and she had a cracked skull and he was going to hit her again until he became guilt-ridden. She agreed not to tell the hospital what had really happened (and she didn't tell the cops until she knew she was safe). After that she decided to do what she wanted, because life was short.

Thanks for letting me know!

No, I haven't read it, please post it when you can! :)
