Leave Andy alone! ohmy.png

I finally watched the July 1983 episode that is on Youtube, close to the end for Amanda and Hope. Elvera did a better job with the drunk Hope story than I thought she would have done; I wish they'd kept a darker Hope around instead of banishing her.

Did Amanda mention a child at all when she returned in 1995?

I think late 1984 GL was when they started becoming so focused on plot over character. Just as an example, the Maureen/Ed/Claire/Fletcher mess. Did any of that benefit the characters or have any reason? By the time they got to the Alicia/Charlotte story it's unintentionally hilarious hysteria.

Mimi Torchin once acknowledged that when she spoke with producer Gail Kobe, Kobe was of the opinion that story mattered much more than the characters. IMHO, she simply did not understand TGL, or its rich, character-based history. The damage she did to the series was immense.

Summer of 1992 promo featuring Gilly, Hampton and David at 2:12. I remember they did a bunch of these styled promos around this time (with Alan-Michael/Eleni/Frank, Harley/Mallet/Jenna and Nick/Mindy)

I really loved her as Michelle. I never can see her as an adult without thinking of Michelle. Fortunately for her I'm likely in the minority with that, since she has such a good, solid career.

For as much as I hated them killing off Maureen... it made for great, solid drama for a couple weeks but ultimately cost the show much more in the long run... Rachel's acting was flawless. She absolutely played the role like someone who had lost her own mother.

How she was overlooked for an Emmy nomination that year was criminal.

Ah, yes. The summer of '93. When Macauley West roamed the Earth. :)

Jill seemed to have a fondness and passion for GL, IMO. I know she made some bad moves, which she at least owned up for, but I just always get this feeling she thought highly of the show. Moreso than I felt at AW, GH and even OLTL, where I feel like OLTL wasn't all that terrible it was just a much different, darker, show. Anyway ...
