I swear someone, maybe Barbara Bloom herself, at CBS had a hard-on for Gaskill and tried so bad to make him stick as he was shoved down our throats on three different soaps in a 3 year time period. But yes I’m glad ME’s Dylan and Bridget were reunited in the end.

PS you all be careful bashing Ehlers during  these later years, the last time I did I had the whole pro-Ehlers troll brigade on my back

I also had an issue in a GL Facebook group as well a couple years back with a few people over a comment I made about Ehlers including one who sent me a rather indecent message over messenger lol I assumed they were the same person

Oh man!

I do remember the scenes where Marina discovered Harley had gotten with rugged heterosexual Cyrus - another needless insta-pairing on the show that went nowhere (Cyrus got it on with the faux Cassie not long after). I will say I thought that was one time Peapack's microbudget rawness worked for the material and Bruno was actually solid; Harley kept rambling on about how their affair had happened and Marina simply kept repeating 'are you going to stop [seeing him]?' And of course Harley did not, though they broke up very soon after when Ehlers left.

I remember Bogue from Oz as well and I did feel like Bogue’s first year on GL went well but then I don’t know, the energy just tapered off. I had fond memories of Derwin as Mallet, but then Derwin just kind of lost me on those back to back Bonnie Hunt sitcoms he did.

But yes, Marina’s relationships with A-M and Mallet were a bit odd. I remember someone at WOST joking that Marina and Alan were next lol.

Don’t make me laugh out loud a second time today

I remember we were told that Grant Aleksander was let go, then blind items ran about a recently fired actor whom some of his leading ladies had issues working with him. I could swear Beth Chamberlain and another actress said that what was said about him wasn't true. And then when who killed Philip ran on for eternity, Carolyn Hinsey said in an article that it seemed as if the show always planned to bring Grant back, but didn't tell it to him at the time so when they told him that he was rehired, he said no thanks, and the show didn't know what to do so they continued the story, which wasn't supposed to run that long. Someone if not her said something about Days firing people, killing off their characters, but then were unfired and they all returned, but GL did it with one actor and he didn't return. Don't  know if it's true but I read somewhere that they wanted to keep him in villian mode and it was part of the problem. I wonder if a lot of what Alan did was supposed to be Philip

Not only did he not mention Julie, but he ends up with Dinah, who killed Julie's first love Hart, and not a peep from her. She needed a short term return, which would've added realistic complications to Dinah and Mallet. Even more had Dinah's siblings had learned their sister murdered their uncle, while trying to kill the mother of their cousin RJ. And Peter returns, not just mad at Dinah, but also Dinah's mother Vanessa who helped her escape justice. The same Vanessa sharing custody of Peter with Bridget. And having 1 or 2 of Dinah's siblings turning against her makes her realize that she should focus on being a great older sister to her sibs, which would help undo some of the damage Rauch did to her turning her psycho. All of which causes more complications for Ross and Blake, more realistic than a romantic triangle. The show had so many lay ups but instead of going for the easy basketball shot, they decided to play football instead

I said the same thing as the storyline was playing out.  If GA was not interested in returning, I said, then recast Phillip, so there would be a point to the "Who Killed Phillip?" storyline.  I also said he even could return using a different name, like Scott Marler ("Scott," for Jackie; "Marler," for Justin), to illustrate how repentant he felt about the way he had treated all his loved ones before he was "killed" and that he wanted to clean the proverbial slate.  Not an ideal situation, mind you, but at least there would have been a purpose to "killing" him off.

A few pages back there was a brief discussion about all of the actors that played Alan Michael. I absolutely loved Rick Hearst in the role. He was just brilliant! I also agree that it would have been great if his character was paired up with Gilly. They had good chemistry. I also liked some of the scenes he shared with Holly through the years. I thought they had a nice chemistry too.

The pathetic thing is EW and DL were already struggling to get Simon back as Ed and went ahead to write an Ed story without Ed with the Sebastian story that was going south. It was foolish of them to do the same thing again just as it was foolish of them of letting JVD get away as well.

    • So far the only interest I've seen from Evan to Amanda has been listening to Iris's orders to go and seduce her.  So far he hasn't been successful... but who knows. Amanda is unbearable at times. Entitled, spoiled... idiotic. Iris... so blatantly manipulating her and Amanda takes the bait. But I guess... when she gets in trouble... she'll have a chance to learn. That's what makes these shows so interesting.    Oh, no, don't worry. You haven't ruined a thing. Evan has not been on my radar that much... he was not one of the characters I was caring particularly... so nothing much has been changed for me. I don't think he has the stuff to ruin Rachel's life. He's just a pretty guy that can follow orders. Iris on the other hand... is dangerous.

    • The show has gone back to 10/10 entertainment! I'm glad that I was right in feeling that what were experiencing were growing pains. I'm sure they are not over yet, but I'll know that we always comeback to quality drama. I think it's going to be a hell of ride (in a good way) from this moment on. BTG has that magic that not a lot of shows have. I'll update more... when I'm done catching up.
    • So very glad to hear this. Yesterday I suddenly thought; OMG, what about spoilers, have I just  ruined things for Maxim in getting carried away with interest in Evan, who was so well-written & well-acted. BTW, your fan review of this episode was a sight for eyes that had not seen one of these for a little bit too long, LOL!!!  Mitch is also fascinating to me but in his case it's because he was all in with Janice & her nefarious plan & then he did this turnabout we've mentioned & he basically got off scot-free.
    • It does seem cheap and lazy for this show to have just one family. Passions was heavily criticized but it was nicely structured with a total of four families.
    • I think it was definitely a surprising reveal in the storyline. I had a hard time appreciating Evan because I couldn't get behind his interest in Amanda. But that's because I never thought Sandra Ferguson made her a compelling character (although to give her credit she occasionally had decent emotional scenes with Mac or Rachel).
    • I'll even go further... I'll make her re-think BeLief and create a new patent. Brooke needs stuff to do. Anything other than beg or be in her panties. We need her to be creative. But sadly Bradley has a very low opinion of these characters. To him Brooke is nothing more than sex and scandal... or a pathetic doormat. Ridge is nothing more than a chauvinist pig that needs to pit women against each other to feel like A MAN and Steffy is nothing more than her father's guard-dog. I don't even want to open my mouth about Hope. She is such a fiasco in my opinion... I will not suffer if they kill her off. Bradley pooped on her character and now it's too late to fix it. Annika is great and I would hate to see her go, but slutty Hope was not her thing. The vibe was missing.
    • I've seen Jason interact with Mitch and annoy him. That's as far as I recall. I didn't even have a slight idea that Evan had a vendetta against Rachel... That came as a surprise to me. I thought Evan was Iris's dog and that's it. Now he's definitely more interesting.
    • Thanks for these. I can't recall -- did Evan's vendetta have any position on Mitch, or was it all about Rachel? @Maxim have you seen any Frames intreracting with Mitch in any way?
    • Thank you for the tag! It's always a pleasure to see these little pearls of memories.
    • Uh-oh. Today just might’ve been the first Paula/Jeanne stinker. I have a feeling whose fault that might be though. So, Doug III is getting a job at the Pub?  It’s good to see him interact with other characters. I enjoyed his scenes with Roman, even though the talk of Frankie and Max seemed a little random. And it also could be really interesting now that Tate knows. Days really need to start pushing their rivalry again. We need some follow up from the punch. Tying it all to Holly, to Sophia’s pregnancy, to the guys that Doug III owes money to could be good.  But yeah, wayyy too much Leo again in today’s episode. Seriously, has anything changed with this nothing character? I thought it was all Ron’s fault, but maybe Greg Rikaart is (partially) responsible for Leo being so insufferable.  And yeah seriously, Rafe needs to throw all of these people out of his house. Including Gabi

But I do wonder who’s the mysterious voice that Gabi overheard with EJ on the night he was shot. Based on yesterday’s episode, I have a suspicion.
