AMC: The Moving/Not Moving Thread

Yep. I yearn to see her play Tim Riggins' love interest on Friday Night Lights. Taylor Kitsch and Chrishell both have some impressive acting chops and would no doubt look gorgeous together. I can't see the chemistry not being there.

Oh hell no. She is no where good enough to be on FNL. I wish her every success on a show I don't watch, like the new Melrose Place or something.

If Ray MacDonnell wanted to, couldn't he stay on contract and just commute to LA when he was needed? It's not like they show him 3x a week. But I guess ABC was looking to push him out anyways. Or maybe Ray did want to retire and saw this as an opportunity to vacate his role.

if anything it would just mean that when they bring susan down she will tape for 4 days, leave til shes called again.

I thought I read somewhere where Ray could show up on occasion after the move. I would not be surprised to see Joe at holidays and the like.

I've been travelling the last little while and missed a lot of this--but one thign confuses me about the list. James Mitchell has retired--but he's living in California? (Odd because he spent mostof his life in NYC except when filming some movies and musicals--he was one of the top Broadway and American Ballet dancersin New York for eons). I do hope we get at least a good exit/tribute episode to him sometime...

Likewise ifRay is retiring I hope we get a proper sendoff. I'm a bti concerned this move happens just when they should be fosucing on the 40th anniversary--i guess that'll film in NYC?

There was a blurb back in the winter about Palmer not being seen because James Mitchell opted to spend his winters at his southern California home. There was no actual statement that he had actually "retired," as there seems to be with Ray.

Anything regarding the 40th Anniversary would have to be taped in New York. They go on break December 11, and they're about a month ahead as it is.

But, still, as it is during the 5 day schedule, that doesn't mean she'll be used all 4 days. It just means the production as a whole will be taping 4 days a week. That's why I'm saying it's being made a little more confusing than it needs to be by breaking it down to "ooh! When will she tape? When will she not tape?! Will she be taping all 4?! OMG! THE MIND BOGGLES!" It just all depends on her story and what episodes she's in. If it's heavy, she'll probably tape 4 days. If it's light, or if they're ahead, she'll probably tape one or none that week. Bottom line, it just means that if it's Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday, she should probably expect to be at work one of those days and not plan to meet her daughter for drinks at the Rainbow Room 7:00 that evening.

Yes, I'm that neurotic in real life.

The list also gives clues us in to those who were actually recurring players but remained in the opening credits: James Mitchell and Walt Willey and possibly even Ray MacDonnell.

According to the SUDS Report, Alicia Minshew will only be returning briefly to wrap up her role on AMC after her maternity leave. According to the report she does not want to move OR commute.

Wow. Bye Alicia. I like you, but Kendall has become blah with Zach around.

NB is drinking way too much caffeine. I couldn't read his whole column.

Call me self-serving and a hypocrite, but I want Nelson to be right about this so much.

I'm not calling you self-serving or a hypocrite because I am right there with you wanting NB to be right about AM.

If it's true that Ray MacDonnell was the 2nd highest paid actor at that show just shy of 1 million, SHAME ON ABC FOR WASTING HIM! He's talented, and at his age, as sharp as any of the newbies.

The desperate OLTL worship is getting to the point of being truly sad. He's becoming a spectacle. Someone should just put him in a glass cage in front of the masses so we can observe him like the freak show he is.

:) There are more of us. Can't wait until they get the news, either!

OH MY GOD. The thing about Ray MacDonell being paid ONE MILLION DOLLARS a year (and being the second highest paid actor, to boot) is RIDICULOUS, even for NB. My god, who believes the utter sh.t that spews from his column? RM, as much as I love him, has never been an AMC superstar. He has never been elevated above strong supporting character. There is no way that he could've made that kind of money in the first place, and if he did, there is no way he would have maintained that salary over the last decade or so, especially when Frons came in. What a load of horse sh.t I officially declare NB to have the WORST column on the internet. :D
