Oh, and are Vail Bloom and Eva Marcille trading acting tips? Vail was horrible in those scenes where she was going off on Rafe. Especially the part where she started touching her face and head with her hands and crying. It was reminiscent of Eva Marcille's disastrous crying scenes yesterday, without the tacky nails of course.

They still have no intention of developing Rafe, what a dayplayer lawyer that was only used in a story for "shock" and "awe" purposes.

What shock and awe purpose? We didnt see squat from Rafe and Adam. As for your previous post....Adam is a bore. I am bored when I see him now. His comment about how good he was....pleaseeeeeeeeee

I found it funny how Vail's character said how she smart she was as a lawyer...haha..and not at romance...ie..Adam...Really??? The stupid idiot hasnt won a case......arrested Phyliss on a bogus charge....The writing is bad.

We didn't see anything, but they're going around writing and inferring that that Adam is so bad that he compromised his sexuality to be with a man. For what reason? It was a poor and hallow attempt to be shocking. The fact that we didn't see anything onscreen confirms how Maria and her henchmen feel about showing gay affection on their show.

Rafe is a nothing character.

What a botched cartoon character. I'm so ready for him to be killed off or sent to prison already. This writing regime really screwed over this character, and again, for what? Who knows?

No argument there.

Did you notice how MAB pretty much ripped herself off by having Roxanne walk in on Devon and Tyra (and exit) when just a few months ago Karen did the exact same thing? (Except, of course, this time the story is just sick.)

Breakdown Writer - Amanda Beall

Scriptwriter - Janice Ferri Esser.

The dialogue and even the breakdowns for this show have gotten increasingly horrendous over the past 4 months or so, I don't even need to go into that again.

If a new HW comes in, at this point, I'd want them to create a new team, even if that means firing people like Slater and Esser. None of them are impressing me much lately, but my biggest gripe is still with the HW's.

Well... after seeing today's eppy, I thought Vail was FABULOUS and the exchange with her and Gellman was exciting as hell to me (But PLEASE, do something with his HAIR!!) Then Hayley Erin comes onscreen and shoots the entire episode right out of the sky! I really analyzed the dialogue, and in the hands of a competent actress, it would have worked just fine. This girl is worse than Marcille and Kahlil combined. Who the hell is she related to?

    • Roger's return storyline may have been silly but Roger's return was what lead to GL's last golden era.  It was the combination of Roger's return and Robert Calhoun becoming EP that got GL to finally hit it's stride after some really bad years. It will always disappoint me that the ratings during Robert Calhoun's run didn't reflect the quality of the show.
    • He also gave some of the best episodes, like the episodes surrounding Doug's death. The problem with Days was that Ron had a horrible vision from he top. I don't feel the same for MVJ and nothing that has happened in all these months suggests she doesn't have a handle on the show. Now if it becomes an issue I'll acknowledge it, but I'm not seeing it so far.
    • Jean Hackney was awful and that lead to Ben's exit story which sucked. I liked Ben/Val together. Val's love for Ben was that of a grown woman moving on with her life and Ben's love for Val made him willingly decide to raise another man's children as his own.
    • It wasn't just a GL thing, it was an 80s thing. Opulent party scenes on soaps were very big back then. Even in regular episodes where people are just going to dinner they're dressed up like they're going to see royalty.
    • Just started the May 27 episode and first thing I see is that Willow got an ugly haircut since hte last time i watched   I dont have the context for how everthing went down but I know its all Lulu's fault which make her a bish for what she did to Gio
    • I'm pretty sure he was. But point taken. GL really had a thing for masked and costumed balls/parties in the '80's. Everyone looks fabulous, but those poor costume designers.
    • Still here ^^ Come on Prime Video, it's due to bring it back!
    • Got through the eighth season, and it was... painful.

    • I agree 100% with both you and Mitch64.  Soaps have been going further and further off-course since 1981. TPTB just don't have a fundamental understanding of what makes soap fans so loyal. I'd love to be on a writing team with both of you.  Maybe we could put together a real soap opera, and show people what its all about...
    • They weren't in town, but Fletcher worked at the paper (and we saw anniversary Journal headlines for the 50th, although I don't remember if Roger was one of them), and I'd think Alex would have at least heard of him due to the damage he did to Spaulding only a few years before her return to the fold. I know I have to remember it's not real life, of course.
