Every time I hear "Michael Muhney" I hate Adam even more. And not, this isn't specifically about Engen, it is about the loss of a good character named Adam... and the loss of so much more.

Muhney's a glorified scab. Engen leaves over creative differences and not wanting to produce such egregious crap and Muhney lets the retardation continue.

Why is Sabrina so anti-victor all of a sudden?

Could today's episode be anymore plot driven? Damn...

While the Nikki/Victor scenes were nice, they're totally rushed and out of nowhere.

They had WEEKS to prepare for Nikki's exit, yet they dumped this entire storyline into the 3 last days before Melody goes on hiatus?

Paul and Nikki should have been having problems at least a few weeks before all of this happened, yet they were almost NEVER seen onscreen. In fact, 90% of their relationship happened OFF-SCREEN. How are we supposed to be invested in their breakup and Nikki coming back to proclaim her love to Victor for the millionth time in her life?

Could someone END this gaslighting fiasco and never mention it again please? Just send Adam off to prison and let Ashley move on AWAY from Victor? It's really annoying me seeing Ashley this stupid and petrified now. It seems like this idiot writing regime rushed stuff that needs to take long and prolongs the most idiotic of stuff.

God, is Amelia Heinle even trying today? Not that Joshua Morrow is any better. They need to not have Amelia mention past history of her character, because yeah, she's playing a completely different character that's simply named Victoria. It all falls flat with her.

Maybe if this were primetime, this rushed Nikki/Paul/Victor stuff would have worked. But in the context of daytime viewing for me, it was hallow, plot-driven, and it all happened too fast.

Again, they had a while to prepare for Melody's alleged exit, they didn't use that time wisely.

im watching it online on Global, so I'm on Wednesday's Canadian show (Thursday's US show). I enjoyed the montage of the couples at the end.

Sharon is so useless she should go far away. Ashley needs a backbone, Victor needs to realize he could lose her and rise to the occasion. Nikki and Paul need to move on together and be happy. Really wish my heart could bleed for the ten-second marital spat the Hellstroms are having right now, but I cant even squeeze out a single glistening mantear, because its CRAP CRAP CRAP. Amelia Heinle: Go raise your babies. AMC is moving to LA maybe you're wanted there. HELLO GINA TOGNONI AS VICTORIA. Please please please???!

Yes. In the other thread I said we'd be happy to trade her to AMC for...

...anyone with a pulse.

Then I just offered to give her to them for free. Us Y&R fans are nothing if not charitable :D. We get a lot of flack for being negative and crazy and very loud-mouthed around here from the other soapers... but you know what? We're true grit. We're sticking with the show so we need an outlet to vent before we all put bullets in your brains.

I LOVED Today's eppy. Yes, it was plot driven, but these big disaster episodes always are. My mother (Who is totally spoiler free) was CONVINCED that Nikki was going to be struck by lightning. Then she thought maybe Victor was.... when he walked out the door. Then she thought "Maybe they will have this big kiss and embrace in the middle of the rain and storm. But instead we got something she didn't want. Oh well. It was certainly exciting. Why do some of you think Ashley to be this strong, intelligent businesswoman? She always been a snotty bitch princess who is fragile, and goes off her rocker easily, this is just one of her "crazy periods"... y'all just need to accept that. And I am ASTOUNDED... Vail Bloom actualyl carried her weight today! Is this girl a really a not so talented hair model, or is she just lazy? Today's episode made me wonder.

The best thing about this episode was that they used some nice classic music cues, and they used the rain machine.

Nikki/Victor/Paul just didn't feel natural to me, since there was hardly any build up and we never actually saw Paul and Nikki's relationship develop on-screen.

Doug Davidson was good today, and I feel sorry for Paul and Davidson always getting screwed over in the writing department.

I agree. It was completely plot driven and I agree with everything Y&RWorldTurner had to say about it, but still watching Doug, Melody, Eric and even Vail Bloom show emotion and express their feelings was so different than what we usually get. Paul, Nikki and Victor have such a history and they can bring that all back in their scenes. I used to love Victor and Nikki and hated how Victor treated Nikki this year and yet when MTS and EB have these rare scenes where they can truly connect I am there with them again. I was ironing clothes while watching and I actually had to stop and sit down while normally I would be just listening to the show and most of the time just tape it so I can FF through it later.

And they only give us this focus on Nikki for three days because they were planning on writing MTS out while her relationship with Paul was happening off screen for months. They don't get what fans like about this show. I thought they did for a few months last fall and early winter and the ratings increased, but then they turned towards plot driven nonsense and starting losing the audience and are too blind to see what they could do to make things better, starting with getting rid of Hogan Sheffer.

Yet, we will be back to propping hollow relationship and pushing plot next week no doubt. What a shame.

Doug is good and when given the material he can shine, just like Tracey Bregman, Christian Le Blanc, and even Kristoff St John, but they are now only used to prop the younger characters/actors who the show is invested in.

There are some good young actors on this show, but when I see all these young actors getting so much story while popular vets are being ignored I feel like this show has gone the way of the ABC shows and they are digging their own graves.

When did they get the idea that people watch a soap for decades to see stunts instead of relationships? Why not have shown Nikki and Paul having a safe/virtually passionless relationship based on friendship and then contrast that with Nikki's deep love for this old geezer who treats her like [!@#$%^&*] most of the time but is exciting and unpredictable? I am getting to the point where my long term attachment to these characters is no longer enough to get me through what is currently being written for them.

Instead of a baby switch maybe they should totally destroy Ashley's character by having her kidnap Sharon and cut that baby out of her to keep as her own. At the rate that Adam and Mary Jane are being destroyed, how will either one of them still be around by the time Sharon is due?
