Dude, you need to hurry up, so you can talk about the show with me! Hahaha...I feel like I'm the only one making thorough day-to-day comments here! :(

My thoughts about Tuesday's show:

Teri annoys me, which sucks 'cause she went from being likable to being a total creeper. Did she really think that Craig would not notice her cozying up next to him?? Janet coming in to tell Teri about Holden's death was a WTF moment. I don't think Teri even knows who Holden is.

I like Craig & Rosanna. Not sure if revisiting a romance would work, but I like them as the bickering duo that they are right now.

I hate what they're doing to Damian with this storyline. It was only a few weeks ago that Holden was driving people insane with his control freak attitude and now, Damian is channeling Holden. I know that Damian has been a control freak before (ie. his reaction to Luke coming out), but it feels like they are trying to paint Holden as some saint when his character actually hasn't been all that interesting since his affair with Carly. But back to the show...how did Damian get a hold of Holden's dental records? I love that Damian is focusing more of his attention on Lily than on Meg, but gah...dude cannot take "no" for an answer! And what poorly made decision to lie about the dental records matching with the teeth on the body they discovered. Damian's gonna have a lot of explainin' to do when the truth comes out.

Noelle Beck was absolutely phenomenal in portraying both Lily's grief and hope. The part where Damian went to check up on Lily in her bedroom and told him, "You shouldn't be here. You're not my husband. I just want my husband." Heartbreaking...and I hate Lily & Holden as a couple. I also really enjoyed Lily's scenes with Jack. Jack came off as very removed from Holden's death, so it was nice to see Lily point out his lack of tears.

Looks like we're back to some camp tomorrow. After a handful of depressing days, I'm up for some silliness.

From the few scenes I've scene, Teri is pretty hot. So I've been switching to ATWT during OLTL commercials to see her. :) I haven't watched ATWT since January. How did Holden die? Aren't Parker and Faith related and grew up as family even though they're not blood related - I didn't get why Liberty got jealous when she saw them hugging.

^^^^Because Liberty's a Ciccone who thinks with her va-jay-jay first and her brain third. I'm not sure there is a second...and I'm not even sure Libby knows who Faith is. I've never even seen her say "hello" to Emma. Ever since they met, Parker's been all about her---it wouldn't be hard to imagine her not knowing anything of Parker's previous friendship with Faith. But on a more practical level, my guess is Liberty felt brushed off by Parker again, because he promised he'd show up at the school picnic after he finished work, and then she finds him with Faith. Then, being Janet's daughter, she threw herself under the first man she talked to.

Holden was in Kentucky on business, and picked up a "cop" who flagged him down on the side of the road. Of course the "cop" turned out to be an escaped prisoner who shot the cop who's uniform he was wearing. He made Holden drive out to the middle of nowheresville, they exchanged clothes, including Holden's wallet, watch and wedding ring. They got back in the truck, and certain the guy was going to kill him, Holden tried to crash the truck. Unfortunately, he picked a spot overlooking a deep ravine. The truck exploded, but there's only one corpse. Charred beyond recognition of course.

Eh...about today. The Janet/Teri/Craig saga seemed so random. Like SJ said...why Janet was traisping around Oakdale hunting Teri down to tell her about Holden didn't make a lick of sense. Then we cut to a scene of Meg and Jack talking, where it sounded to me like Jack was just being told by Meg. And I'm not sure Janet told Rosanna.

I just saw a bunch of storyline anvils dropping---Teri couldn't stop hinting her family was mob-connected, Janet's randomly up in Teri and Craig's faces about "what's going on", Craig is acting dumber than a box of rocks, and Rosanna seems inappropriately territorial. And not just on Carly's behalf.

I liked the Jack/Lily scenes more...but there's something still a little icy about Noelle Beck that doesn't persuade me she's really all that hysterical over Holden's death or her "guilt" over whatever feelings for Damian she has. I did appreciate the use of history, bringing up Jack's accident when he was presumed dead. And maybe because I buy the bond between Holden and Jack (even though it hasn't been well served since Holden's affair with Carly...) I bought Jack's grief.

There is something so superficial about Noelle Beck that I can't stomach. I don't believe her as the mother of any kind of child and she doesn't fit as Lily Snyder. Lily Walsh 15 years ago maybe, but it's 2009. Everything about her acting is very soapy in a cheesy, romance novel sort of way. I only really buy her in scenes with Damian or fighting with Meg. She's made for that soap princess type of stuff. Everything else? Dud. I don't really care that Holden is dead yet again. I'm much more interesting in the love triangle. I love seeing that mixed in with everyone grieving. It's a very soapy story that is somehow working (again).

I guess since I haven't been watching I'm having difficulty understanding Craig. Was he truly dating Carly when she left? I'm trying to get a handle on the likelihood of a romance between him and Teri. I wouldn't be totally against it, but surely that isn't the most interesting route for either character. Adam and Casey desperately need a woman who isn't named Alison...Also, how does Rosanna tie into things? She has no romance, but seems awfully involved in Craig's life. Does she want him too? Parker and Liberty are a terrible couple. I just can't seem to force myself to like her AT ALL. Parker is enjoyable in scenes with the adults, but if this is the best romance for him, then let him be single.

I must give ATWT credit for using the location shooting when it benefits the story and not just for the sake of it. It still feels like a treat and IMO, this is a soap. I don't need nonstop location shooting or realness. I just want soapy goodness. Guiding Light forgot to entertain when they were so focused on making everything real. I'm glad ATWT hasn't forgotten what they're here to do

ICAM.

Sigh...I would say Craig and Carly were in limbo at the time she left. Technically, he still considers himself an engaged man. Carly didn't give him back his ring after she failed to appear at their wedding. She begged him to take her away and try and dry out on her own. But it failed and she went to rehab. But she's jilted him twice in six months---once sober, once drunk---and it's hard for me to take any talk of either being "committed" to the other seriously.

Rosanna

I pray Parker stays far away from Liberty. I hated his stalker-ish, obsessive love for Liberty. I also hated his constant put-downs of Carly, but he started turning a corner there before she left for rehab. So the return of nice, sensible Parker has been like a breath of fresh air.

They seem to be serious. I don't quite get why James needs another son, and it's clear that Trent's not getting to play the dramatic sense of it all, which is a shame...but at least it feels like a family-centered story, which is something ATWT's lacked lately. It's giving CZP and KMH a chance to shine again (and after the past few years of Em, I'm shocked I'm saying that...). I actually found myself liking the Babs/Paul/Em scenes today.

And day-um....CZP looked fabulous today.

Emily: My lawyer says I should send you a big bunch of roses. Do you like red or white?

Barbara: You know what you can do with your roses.

LMAO!

Oh Babs/Em = win.

And Babs walking in on Paul and Emily going for round 2? Hilarity. And the huge eyeroll when Paul said Emily could come to find Henry?

I am LOVING see Babs/Em almost as much as I'm loving seeing Paul/Em.

Agreed. The Paul/Em/Babs stuff is at least interesting. Rooted in history. The other half of the story, with GASPing Henry and V, and sex-kittenish Lynn Herring....sucks. Other than the way James grabbed her, and wouldn't let go, the scenes between Lynn H and Anthony Herrera were flat, imo.

    • I think they’re desperately trying to cover his awful tattoos. But anyway them being unable to style short kings properly has been a major pet peeve of mine for a while now.  I honestly don’t understand what some people expect from actors to even begin considering them for recognition. Let’s be real—awards mostly mean that an actor is respected by their peers and has some level of cultural relevance. Actual judgment on the acting itself? That’s often secondary—highly subjective and shaped by the times. I completely agree on both points. If you’re an actor or a dancer you shouldn’t get any tattoos (sorry not sorry). Tomas’ tattoos are ugly too. And regarding the couples- you’re completely right. These writers are unable to write romance.   Further comments: - Kat cannot be this dumb to keep tampering with evidence over and over again. And I’m officially not a fan of the actress—every time she’s in a scene with Leslie, she doesn’t seem intimidated at all. She plays it like comic relief, which is just too much, especially when paired with Leslie’s histrionics and over-the-top antics. Leslie is older, dangerous, and has literally been portrayed as homicidal—Kat should be at least a little scared. • I also didn’t like Kat playing damsel in distress with the hotel manager. It gave off the same weird energy as Dani with the cop. I would’ve much preferred the version Paul Raven suggested, with her sneaking in through housekeeping. • And yes, Dani again accused Hayley of faking the pregnancy—this time even specifying she might be using a pillow under her shirt. (No fake miscarriage being mentioned) I stand by my take: this is ridiculous writing. No one in the real world—except us, the chronically online soap watchers—would even think of such a conspiracy theory. Haley is no Beyoncé. • What in the world was Chelsea wearing in her hair the other day? And this whole thing with Madison is beyond cringe. Chelsea’s coming off as needy and toxic—basically like every other Dupree. • I’m glad the casino storyline is moving forward, but it’s still boring as hell. Honestly, I’d be so here for a plot twist where Vanessa and Doug take Joey out. • The direction and editing lately have been rough. Abrupt cuts, weird pacing… something just feels off overall. There’s a strange uneasiness to how it’s all coming together. • And finally: Tomas is too much of a saint. Where are the messy sluts when you need them? (Vanessa doesn’t count.)
    • Andrew sure has hard nips.
    • I was watching some August 1987 episodes and they brought back so many memories. I had some thoughts: Lisa and Jamie were so dull. Lisa was such a nothing character. It boggles my mind that so much story was centered around her in such a short amount of time. Joanna Going is a talented actress, but the material was just not there.  It was so good to see Wallingford and Mitch again. I know there was talk about Felicia a while back, but these episodes reminded me how integral Felicia was for the show.  Sally Spencer was done so dirty. She is turning in superb performances in an icky storyline. I wish she had stuck around longer. She has chemistry with everyone. The McKinnons should have lasted longer. Spencer had some strong stuff with Stephen Schnetzer and Mary Alexander. AW waster such a talented actress by getting rid of her. Justice for Cheryl too. I also missed Ed Fry when he left. Sandra Ferguson was a star from the moment she came on. She was charismatic and just popped. She had immediate chemistry with RKK and blended in well with Wyndham and Watson. I'd forgotten about the teenage Matthew.  I have no memory of Peggy Lazarus. She must not have lasted long. Was the original plan for John that he was going to turn out to be the twins' real father?
    • If the new and improved copies that @rsclassicfanforever has uploaded can be manually moved into the "by month, by year" folders, that would be awesome. I personally don't think it's necessary to keep the older versions (which either have Dutch subtitles hard coded on them, or are lesser in picture quality). That's a lot of valuable drive space that could be cleared. Just my view but can appreciate others may feel differently. The structure had been by month by year previously, so I think it would be easier to conform to that, where so much prior work to get it to that format has already been done. Hopefully you can "drag and drop" so the new copies are in the right month/year? Re Clips, I never look at them now we pretty much have the episodes in full. Appreciate others may use, however. Thanks for all your hard work here @BoldRestless!
    • Oh yes defintely, Josh Griffith repeats and repeats the same storylines.
    • Isnt’t this storyline similar to the Cameron Kirsten situation though? Sharon thought she killed him. He ended up being alive and Sharon was being tormented with thinking she was seeing his face everywhere and that’s how we got that iconic scene with her and Nikki in the sewers.   I understand in Mariah’s case this is different circumstances but it does seem like a play on that whole thing. Maybe I’m wrong. I just wish if they were going to make any character follow in Sharon’s foot steps it would be Faith. Mariah wasn’t even raised by her, and her personality is different. I would expect her to take a different path. I understand I could be completely jumping ahead because the storyline hasn’t even played out yet but we’ll see.
    • Thanks again @Paul Raven Monica was completely without redeeming qualities at this point. I always found the whole Monica = Carly narrative regressive, as I don't think shows comparing characters so heavily is ever a great idea, but she's actually worse than Carly was. Was it the Pollocks who had Leslie have a miscarriage?  Giving her a child, especially by rape, was not a good idea, but a part of me wishes they'd committed to it just to see what story it might have had in later years.
    • @janea4old Your detailed explanation and delving into the psychology and motivations is no doubt the opposite of what we will see onscreeen. As @ranger1rg stated we will get a few scenes and some sketchy explanations. Like the adoption of Aria, most of it will take place off screen.
    • I'm suddenly fearful that DAYS is going to pull a Flowers-for-Algernon stunt and Bo's progress will be reversed.  While @te. is stuck on Abe's tiny bedroom, I can't stop thinking of the size of Bo's huge hospital room.
    • Okay, why are Paulina and Abe sleeping like that?!  I'd take a screen grab if I wasn't lazy, but come on.
