I feel it is too early to say Muhney had chemistry with Bloom. We'll see. But what a first day of work!

Please let Adam and Mary Jane work together to procure Sharon's "destiny westiny" baby and give it to Ashley. I love how Adam blames Victor for his blindness...because Victor's insistence that Adam be imprisoned made him stab himself in the eyes.

Rafe's shocked face in tomorrow's previews did look good! Holy Friday Cliffhanger, Batman!

And Nick. MOOCHING?? Now Nick needs to die.

Vail is not served by sanctimony. When she's Adam's hot chick, she's in her element.

Fisher almost being killed by a T-bone in the street? Outrageous! Definitely signalled that the MAB regime was not sympathetic to Gloria. But hilarious!

I love pets on the show. I especially loved puppy Zapato during the epilepsy days.

They tied Ji Min and Chow. But I wish they'd used that mob to tie up [ a ] the Plum-Carson money and murder, and [ b ] Nick's plane crash. They could have pinned all that on Chow/Palin, rather than leaving these plots temptingly dangling for the current regime.

I do often wonder what was in Tom Fisher's safe deposit box.

On Y&R, my recollection is that first names were often used for these announcements. But I could be wrong. Darn, though, I miss Bern Bennett.

The news about Farrah Fawcett and Michael Jackson really shook me. I found it hard to focus on Y&R today.

IMO, a recast for another character basically means a "new" character, which is fine. MM is not my ideal for the role, but I certainly wish him well. Since he does look older, I would like to see TPTB acknowledge that and shift Adam's story a bit. Instead of a Rafe/Adam/Heather triangle, how about P3/Adam/Mary Jane? Also, MM doesn't favor EB in looks or mannerisms but he does share a similarity to Josh Morrow in looks and age, so why not play up the Nick/Adam rivalry a bit more? Mary Jane/Adam teaming up against Nick/Phyllis could be interesting. On superficial note, I don't find him hot but that's all subjective. I do wish MAB could contrive some shirtless scenes for JT for those of us who like the pretty boys.

Wow. That's crazy. Why would that be the case?

They should pick up the plane crash again and clearly resolve the issue of Summer's paternity once and for all.

Poor management from the show's HW and EP, who at that particular time was Latham. Casiello mentioned in his blog that sometimes he had a few hours or one day to turn in a breakdown, which is NOT the norm in daytime or on any well-manged writing team. It certainly was apparent on the show, IMO. Very little was written for the long-term, hence writers have a few hours or one day to turn into their work. I'm not the biggest fan of MAB, but she's a much better manager of writers than Lynn Latham ever was. I hear breakdowns are now written as much as two months in advance, while it was merely a few weeks with Latham, there's still a lot of problems, but not to the extent of the Latham era when it comes to long-term storytelling and detailed planning.

Have to say that i was slightly underwhelmed with MM today. He didnt seem as natural as i thought he would be. BUT this is only day one, and I have confidence that over time, he will win me over. But for right now, im already missing CE.

Tomorrow looks hot tho! Cant wait!

I hope the show won't do the same to Mary Jane as they did to Adam. You don't have to have psychos to keep the plot going, and in MJ's case, she's a much more viable character than half the people she's used to generate sympathy for. They can still have her with an edge but there's no need to sacrifice her for Sharon or Phyllis or Victor or any more baby drama.

It is early, but I did think their scene was pretty sexy. Strangely, I thought MM played Adam as much more tender than CE. With CE I always wondered why Heather didn't sense something was wrong. I felt he played up the distance Adam was feeling.

I LOVE the expression on Rafe's face... he seemed so lonely and hungry for affection (I am in LOVE with Yani Gellman), I bet that is going to play heavily into Adam being able to convince him he's not behind the gaslighting. And boy.. do I miss Bern Bennett, too. I especially miss his deep mellow voice at the end.. "Join us again... for the YOUNG.... and the Restless". And of course, in the early days, that statement was followed by, "Stay tuned for Search For Tomorrow, next over most of these CBS stations". You know, I have on tape a 1985 episode where Terry Lester was subbed for by another man, and Bern is saying... "Due to illness... the part of Jack is being played by.. blah blah blah.." no last name of character was used.

And Mark... I also can't say how thrilled I am that Rafe is on the canvas. Now I'm finally able to to experience the romantic fantasies that are such a big appeal for soaps. I remember how my mother would have hers about Brock... and I would too... but there was always this "wall" because the character was straight. Now, that I'm able to experience the romantic fantasy in a truly deep and real way, after 35 years... it's the best feeling in the world. And having a mother I can share that with is just icing on the cake. Even if the SL writing is not the best, having him there and accesible on my screen is something I've longed for since I was little, and would kiss the pictures of Shaun Cassidy on my wall every night before I went to bed.
