Members Y&RWorldTurner
I want her to stay too, but she lives in Nashville. They need to convince her to relocated to LA and give her a contract. She adds so much to the show just by being there.
Members MoTheGreat
I think the problem is they hooking up the wrong people to the wrong age groups. Amber should be in her late 20 early 30 age group. Lily & Colleen shouldn't even be hooking up with fellas half their age. JT should be in his 30s along with Amber, Heather, Mac, Billy, Cane, and Adam. Then throw in Kevin once in a while. & the rest of them suppose to be in their early 20/ Lily, Colleen, Daniel, Devon, Jana, Once again throw in Kevin. To me Mac wasn't needed this year for Billy storyline. They should have throw her in JT storyline if they wanted Mac this year.
Members Antoyne
QUOTE (Chris B @ Jun 18 2009, 09:04 AM) Okay Mary Jane fans...here are the scenes where her divorce from Jack are finalized. I think I have some more scenes with her, but I'll have to look. There's so little Patty online which is a shame. Patty and Jack Divorce Part One If you look in my videos you will find part two and three. That video is awesome. It's so nice watching Andrea Evans not do camp. Members MichaelGL
Wasn't there a writer's strike some time in the early 80s, where there was a storyline involving Nikki and a bomb. I remember SOD doing a piece several years ago about stories that apparently "Fizzled" or "Exploded", and the one with Nikki and the bomb wasn't praised so well, but they chalked it up to there having been a wrietrs a strike at the time. Members Soapsuds
It was. Where the hell is Mary Williams? She needs to return once Mary Jane is exposed. Oh and Cane/Lily are such a bore...it's the same blah..blah..blah drivel with them. Any wonder why their wedding was a ratings bust. Go Nina!! Gawd loving the scenes with her, Jill and Katherine. Members MarkH
You know, I'm loving her too...but I think Cast is an example of what could be a great new template. (It's not really a new template...I recall Marland doing this on ATWT with the Snyders a lot). What about having "semi-regulars" who live in other towns, and come back as story dictates. I don't mean brief appearances (like Traci), but come back for multi-week or even multi-month stints as story dictates. It doesn't have to be "choppy" like Tony Geary's absences. The characters can be mentioned while off canvas, and can even have occasional pre-taped phone calls, etc. So, say Nina goes away. And say P4 becomes a regular on the canvas (he was mentioned yesterday). Nina can go away, but then if P4 gets involved with the "wrong woman" or whatever, she can come back for a few months to be front-burner. I think it could work. It would trim the cast, and it would stop the fan-feeling that there are neglected characters. Folks would be OFF THE SHOW until needed. ER did stuff like this in primetime. For example, Sally Field made a few meaningful returns for arcs, and then left again. I don't see why this couldn't be done effectively in daytime. Right now (Geary, Rademacher, Slezak's summer hiatuses) it is not effective, because characters just disappear and story momentum stops. You know, my recall was that she was much campier than Lillibet Stern. I loved Stern's Patty...she seemed like an innocent Williams girl to me. I had already seen Andrea's Tina...and I did not like her...so I never much appreciated her as Patty. But since Patty quickly took a psycho turn, Andrea did her credit. Now maybe some of you see why I lament that the show didn't use the AE tie in (AE = Tawny, Amber's mom; AE = Patty, Paul's sister) and link the two. While Patty could STILL be Tawny under Haiduk's portrayal, I would have liked to see Evans be give the chance to essay a less-campy role once again. That said, Haiduk is the find of the year...so I'm content with how it all worked out. It just means my Amber remains un-rooted to the canvas, and will get the boot before too long. Maybe, at least, she can wash back ashore in LA. I think that is what we were talking about last week. I think that was Edward-the-psycho, and AlphaNguy74 tells us it happened in 1979. If so, that was a BIG year.
Members MarkH
Yessirree! Even if it is a recast (if Carolyn Conwell happens to bedridden or demented or something), I really need that meddlesome mama back. But I doubt it will happen. Not a SINGLE emotionally meaningful beat has been written for Paul in AGES. And I'm not talking about Mary Jane's daydreams. Not with his daughter. Not with his fiance. Not with his brother. Not with his protege JT. No mention of Maggie Sullivan. No mention of his mother. He shows up 4 days/month. I better stop typing on this topic, because it literally ENRAGES me. Members dm.
It enrages me as well. They don't want to explore him yet they can. They cut a huge number of scenes last year with Heather and Paul, even April. They should try to rebuild this family.
Members DRW50
I think JT could still add to the show if they move him away from Victoria and try to write for his character again. They don't seem to know how to write for new characters, so they'd be better off trying to rework an established character, and there's still so much we don't know about JT. As for Jeffrey, I don't think he ever should have been shackled to Gloria if they were going to keep him around.

Members classicmoment
Hey here's a question that stands out for me. Perhaps I missed this beat. How does the doctor being investigated and fired for falsifying documents, and no record of Jill/phillip dna leads Nina to conclude that Phillip may not be the one in the casket. I would understand if it lead her to everything else like Cane not being on the up and up but why would she automatically start to think of the possibility that Phillip may not be in the casket can someone explain what I am missing? Members MarkH
Yes. I think he has been terrific since the late 70s. Back in the day, he was the hunky action hero (itself unusual for this show), but DD could always do more. He was one of the few men who could produce appropriate tears of sadness or joy--and not lose a drop of masculinity. We also saw him evolve, in real time, from selfish slut to a stand-up guy. I think he took a back-step when he was in Lauren's orbit. I loved that romance and the Shawn Garrett tale, but he was supporting through all of that. I deeply enjoyed the Cassandra Rawlins mystery. Loved every freaking second. In the post-Cassandra era, though, I started to lose my sense of him. Every drop of the Christine romance was ill conceived, IMO, and he's not really recovered from her departure. Isabella? She's left nary a mark on the canvas, and where is Ricky? This was their YOUNG MALE STAR. If the show tired of Paul, fine. But don't keep him lingering in this awful state.

Members Soapsuds
I loved his story with Cassandra. Paul and Christine were so icky.. I hated them together with a passion. The Isabella pairing was better than Christine but didnt particulary like the pairing. I do think Ricky should return as a teen.
Members DeeeDee
Yep. Yep. Victoria doesn't whimper. Gloria must die. Painfully. Alex Chando? Cause he doesn't have chemistry with anyone but Judith. TPTB need to BEG Tricia to stay.
