At the end of the day, I think they'd have to recast Eric Braeden if we ever wanted to see a story like that told. Paper dolls? Yes. Losing billions of dollars? Nahhh.

I would never in a million years thought that EB would have EVER let VN cut out paperdolls though! It would be more interesting to see him lose NE!

I'm glad Chloe dumped Billy today, but those two are so good together. I'm sad the show doesn't seem to be going in that direction.

I thought Chloe/Billy was the couple to root for but now I don't think so. I too was glad when Chloe threw the ring at him and I hope she is done with him for good. Chloe is definitely flawed but she knows it and is trying to do better for herself for Delia. Billy on the other hand is still an ass and treats Chloe like crap.

OK, so we know Ashley had a miscarriage. However, there's still a dead fetus inside of her. How is this not impacting her health? She should be deathly ill and suffering a massive infection right now. This crappy storyline makes no sense.

Eileen Davidson said in her NB interview that there was NOT a baby inside of her. That implies that she had (this is possible) a complete purging of the fetal material, and she does not need a D&C.

Needless to say, prior to the modern era, most miscarriages were purged this way. And, yes, there was a higher rate of infection. But it is nothing like 100%. Most women naturally shed this material. I think we're supposed to believe that is what happened with the bloody towel.

Purging? D&C? I'm ignorant about miscarriages so can you explain how they get the fetus out?

How far along was Ashley? In the first trimester/early second trimester we're talking about something very small.

ETA, excerpt from this source: (I'm no expert, but we lived through three of these over a decade ago)

After diagnosing a pregnancy loss, doctors sometimes offer women a choice of whether to wait for nature to take its course or to have a D&C to speed up the miscarriage.

Early in pregnancy, a miscarriage will be very similar to a heavy, crampy menstrual period. It may start with brown spotting that changes to heavier bleeding, sometimes with large blood clots. The bleeding may last up to two weeks, but it should not be heavy for that entire time. (The general rule is that if you are soaking through a menstrual pad in under an hour that you should go to the emergency room.)

Some women prefer nonsurgical miscarriage because they want to avoid the ordeal of checking into the hospital, or they may feel that a D&C is too invasive. Women may also want to avoid the minor risks of complications from a D&C (these risks are very small) or they may want to collect the tissue for burial (but remember that in early pregnancy the baby will probably not be recognizable).

If a doctor diagnoses a miscarriage before any bleeding has started, a miscarriage may take days or even weeks to happen without intervention. Obviously, this can be a drawn out and emotionally difficult waiting process, but 80% to 90% of women with diagnosed miscarriage will miscarry within two to six weeks without complications.

If bleeding has started and the woman chooses to wait, she should be sure to follow her practitioner’s recommendations and probably check in for a follow-up appointment in order to be sure that everything has cleared the uterus and her hCG levels have returned to zero.

I put this in spoiler tags to avoid grossing out those who don't want to know.

Sometimes when a person has a miscarriage the body naturally expels the fetus. This is called a spontaneous abortion. Sometimes there is just spotting, but the baby has died and you have to have the doctor go in and take all the fetal material out of you. If they don't you can end up with a severe infection. Potentially you could even bleed out if the placenta isn't expelled.

Poor Ashley. This just shows she does need medical help and Adam is such an ass for making her go through all this.

BTW: When is NuAdam showing up?

Thanks for the info.
