Y&R: Shocking Role Recast

Your idea is an interesting one. But logistically, I assume they had banked weeks of outlines, scripts, etc...and that it would have been just too disruptive to go back and rewrite all that.

Let's see what Muhney can do. I think he'll be very sexy. Rafe's apparent "youth" is going to be a liability, I admit.

It looks like Rafe's story is about to start cooking.

This doesn't seem like a romance to me. With or without a replacement, I think they are actively gearing up for a whodunit with Adam.

It would take a very clever, interesting writing team to make a despicable character like Adam into a viable love interest for any character(same sex or opposite). And I simply don't think that's what they want to do with this character. Especially if he decides to kill Heather.

In a world where they can turn a character's rapist into a romantic lead, I can see anything.

It would be a weird case of irony if they turned around and did something similar with a gay couple. We've been wanting the same treatment as straight couples. In the world of soaps that can be a dangerous wish.

I'm looking forward to a downright nasty evil vile gay/bi male character. We see it everyday with straight men on the soaps, so why not?

I'm taking bets that he is not gay/bi...(Adam) is just opportunistic.

Honestly, I think he'd f*ck Zapato if it would help him in his devious plans. I think he's totally straight, but able to do just about anything (like starve himself to bones) to achieve his objectives.

Even better. One that will stoop to anything to get his way is all kinds of drama that soaps have been lacking for years and now we're getting it. No complaints.

Even though I might not have chosen Adam to go down this road, I guess I agree.

I keep saying "The JR Ewing for the new millenium". That could work....

Ah, JR Ewing. Funnily enough, there was something about CE that reminded me of young Larry Hagman, circa I Love Jeannie.

I would love to see a JR Ewing for the new millenium but I don't think this writing for Adam is the way to go about it. JR was a scoundrel but he did love his family and had the occasional soft spot. Adam is about to become a baby-killer and he's torturing the one person who has been unfailingly kind to him. That's not the formula for a long-term villain.

With the rumors about P3 or P4 being gay, I am hoping that we get to see a screen-test with the gay Phillip & MM's Adam. If it's P3 (Thom Bierdz) and P3's a shady character, it could be a cool dynamic.

Is this thread not dead yet? Well anyway, heard through the grapevine that Muhney's first scenes are with him shirtless in bed after sexual relations :)

Assuming it is with Rafe, wouldn't it be a LAUGH RIOT if Engen still had to do the kiss or start the bed scene? And Muhney finished it?

Is that why Michael Muhney is saying on his Twitter site that he loves his new job on Y&R?

Because he gets to lie in bed naked?

Having seen this guy shirtless on VERONICA MARS, you guys are gonna enjoy the new Adam. B)

    • Anyway... Kristen should have a prison lesbian story arc. And then come out and become obsessed with Marlena so we can move her on from the Brady nonsense. Is that secret room still in the DiMera mansion?
    • Oh, wow... where can I find this interview?
    • I'm really liking Izaiah and Eva so far. And why can't I help but feel that something might happen to make Jessica stay in Fairmont Crest permanently?
    • So Pam didn't create her? I thought she had the whole of 87-88. I'll look around, thanks for the point in the right direction.

date: Tuesday, November 18, 2025 | Jamey Giddens, Danielle Paige | Steven Williford Samantha, accept the fact you were in the wrong and do not deserve your digital devices. Do not like it? Go upstairs. Read a book. Do some knitting. Bradley and Martin's "we get it" to Tyrell was hilarious and absolutely a parent's thing to do. Loving a bit of history of both the Duprees (via Eva) and the Hawthrones (via Izaiah). So cute. Poor June. I am sure she did not purposefully mean to mess up; we have all been there working in customer service. Shake it off and keep on keeping on! Not twice a week for Vernon's cobbler order... Sharon must be using that as payment for their meetings. I appreciate that Ted still cares about the Duprees despite the end of his marriage to Nicole. Not Dana using Peaches' crisis as a way of taking Ted's attention away from a co-worker. Girl, do not be so obvious. Bradley is a man after my own heart with a simply divine chocolate milkshake. That is the way to go. Dana really needs to dial it back. Money will not buy her everything she wants and she will realise it soon enough. And I doubt Shanice is scared off by her idle threats, either. "With all due respect, Ms Thomas, this isn't a shopping mall." Oh, Dr Wilkes just owned Dana's arrogant ass. I love it. Wigs and personas? Okay now, Shanice ate with that read. I like that June assured Bradley that she will not replace him or Martin in the twins' lives. And that blood does not make a parent. Words never rang more true. Jessica reading Samantha was amazing. Dana would want to involve Ted. Her obsession is crossing beyond dangerous boundaries. Not Dana catching Vernon leaving Sharon's room at the country club. That is not good. Not good at all! Notes: Ugh. Not another breakdown from writer2. This week was going so well. Thankfully, Paige is an outstanding scriptwriter (one of this soap's best), and her words today are excellent. The food at Orphey Gene's does look bomb, so I do not blame any of the characters for uptalking it. I would eat there daily if I could. And gain hundreds of pounds, too. David Lami Friebe (Izaiah) continues to make me sick watching him, but he is nice to listen to. I still really like having June as the central person hub at Orphey Gene's. That familiar face you see when you walk in and have scenes. Dana wanting a second opinion means we could have an incoming doctor, right...?

    • I am sure "no one cares" and it's not a big deal to some people, but this thread is full of certain posters calling out women's ages, their viability to have children at like 35, and their nail polish, but we celebrate everything Chandler Massey does and applaud any male shirtless scenes.  And then posters walk back being like it's just a joke and weren't serious lol.
    • I'm so glad she's still on the show. Seems like she may have dropped a hint about the real source of conflict between her and Dee, too.
