But usually they just drop the whole reel, so this is an improvement.

That's because most of the newer cast members who haven't been added (O'Brien, Khalil, Frantz, Goddard, Peeples, Bloom, Sursok, Engen, Marcille, Miller) have been on the show longer than Davidson has been back.

I just watched Monday's US show and the acting is top notch. From the looks on everyone's faces to the inspired dialogue, it was almost perfect. Even CK impressed me in the last 5 minutes.

Once again I'm firm in my belief that we have barely seen EH during Chloe's pregnancy because they are scared that her chemistry with DG might over shine the stupercouple.

Sharon is stealing again, not sure if it's a paper weight or some gaudy piece of art. She'd have a good case for a sexual harassment lawsuit against Nick; he gets his rocks off and then basically tells her to resign.

Why did Sharon steal that figurine?

I thought it was cruel of Noah to just bring up Cassie like that especially in front of Sharon, but I love that her death has not been forgotten and is always worked into dialogue and story. They use it to propel plots and use it in situations that make sense

I agree Kennylicious!

Basically, I thought everyone was wrong in that scene (except, shockingly, Phyllis...and Sharon was SO RUDE to her I wanted to ... well....)

Nick was all Neaderthal (shades of controlling Daddy Newman peeking through?). Sharon was ... ineffective. And Noah was a combination of inappropriate teenage rebellion COUPLED WITH a bona fide TRUTH TELLER! Nick cheating and deceiving! ROASTED! Cassie being STUPID to get behind the wheel of a car. ROASTED! Nobody has EVER BEFORE called Cassie on her stupidity.

So, even though it was a lot of bad behavior it seemed (a) 100% realistic [adolescent conflicts], (B) said things that NEEDED to be said (Noah DOES have no business sneaking and lying), © and simply set up a terrific conflict that I hope gets worse and worse.

Let's face it, if Eden and Noah get pushed to do some desperate things to be together...well, Shakespeare had a fair bit of success with a similar story :).

IF ONLY Eden were matched to Noah as a performer. But she is not.

I so agree MarkH,

I'm really glad someone finally called Cassie on her STUPIDITY. It's been St Cassie since she died when the fact is, she did it to herself. And calling Nick on all his d*cking around. Perfect. Well played Noah.

I love watching Sharon crumble...Sharon Case is doing wonderfully. I hope she steals more!

Phyllis is desperate/planned/hilarious/sad in all of her interactions with Sharon. I know how she feels. Like, she'd just like to KILL Sharon, but she can't do it, she needs to hold it together and she'll be damned if she'll be the first to crack.

Jill and Esther are hilarious. Jill getting back to being a royal BITCH in the last year is a most welcome change, welcome back Jill Abbott, I know Jess is thrilled. I'm really liking the Jill/Victor interaction, in the 90s they used to be together all the time when Jill worked for Victor and was framed for his shooting and then voted against Jack and Brad to oust him from Newman Enterprises and of course, the hottest 'blink and you miss it' affair of the early 90s...Jill needs to get some action, once things hit the fan with Victor and Ashley, which they MUST...I hope the Mustache can give Jill come lovin'...

It was very strange for me too...I couldn't believe what I was hearing. Just weird.

Hi everyone! New member here! Must say I've been following the Y&R discussion board for a while now and I'm absolutely as thrilled and for once excited about the show again. While I didn't think LML reign as headwriter was a complete disaster I'm willing to admit that this new writer is an absolute genius. I'm just loving the drama, the intrigue, and the great dialogue that seems to be occuring DAILY as opposed to randomly on the show.

As for the younger set I really think that the guy playing Noah outshines the rest. He just seems so natural in his scenes with everybody. Noah's retort to Nick yesterday was dead on accurate and I love the writers for having him say that. Bottom line is that he's not Cassie. He shouldn't put his life on hold because of her.

As for Billy I'm hoping he ends up with Lily. I know it won't happen anytime soon but I truly think the two of them are a great couple. Forget that schemer girl. Cane is beyond annoying and absolute dreadful. I can't even stand to see him except when with Billy since he looks even more inadequate.

Phick fan here.... ! I'm a huge Phyllis fan too and I'm so glad she's not going psycho on Nick and/or Sharon. She should fight for her marriage and allow Nick to come to his senses and move past Sharon. Anyways I don't sense any "desperation" in Phyllis. Seems like the Phyllis haters are just hoping she'll go nuts and lose it on Sharon. But the truth of the matter is that Phyllis has evolved over the last few years. She's done bad things but who hasn't? The important thing is that you learn from them and I think after Nick's romp that she FINALLY learned a thing or two. Now it's up to her to apply the lesson and I think the writers are going to do that.

Sharon on the hand will most likely sleep with another guy despite the fact that she could have had Brad (one of the sexiest guys on the show). And she's clearly losing it. The look she gave Phyllis as she and Nick left Brad's house the other day? She could barely keep it together...

The one good thing about Brad's death is that it's allowed Colleen to become more prominent and I'm loving it. The girl playing her is great and I barely notice the accent to be honest with you. Plus the accent isn't even a huge deal to me.

Anyways I'm so glad to be a member of the board and I look forward to meeting everyone!

Creepier in that his father "died" two years ago in a (sabotage-related but hitherto unexplored) plane crash. I felt that hit almost too close to home, and the fact that they didn't play the history of that comment suggests to me that the writers are trying to "forget" the plane crash and subsequent amnesia.

    • They’ve been really nailing the fall out super well and your whole post really highlights some of the great parts and ramifications we’re seeing.
    • I like that this episode highlighted the ramifications of what Eva and her rotten mama did. They were so focused on Ted and Nicole, not even realizing that other people would be affected. Eva thought nothing of what she did to Mona bc she was sure no on would hold anything against her but Mona is right in that they ruined her reputation with the Duprees. They dont blame her but they will likely never trust her judgement again. She has to walk by them feeling the guilt and shame that she'll never live down bc she unknowingly played a role in the hell that was unleashed. Not to mention the trauma and trust issues she no has bc she genuinely viewed Leslie as a friend   And poor Laura nearly died when she had that car accident and then had a heart attack and infection bc she was poisond. She's been recuperating for 3 months. She missed her trip to Hawaii and no idea what impact this has done on her relationship and her own plans but no on was thinking about that.   Eva and Leslie need to be made to feel like ish bc this was bigger than just Ted and Nicole

    • Understand your point.  But I usually see Reginald's mustache twirling villainy as ultra campy bordering on comedic (albeit unsuccessfully).  And upon Reginald's exit, most of the overt camp/comedy seemed to cease. And although I'm aware camp and comedy are not exactly the same thing, I tend to throw them together anyway -- especially when discussing soaps.  You are correct, Mary was not played for laughs.  When I used to term "let's play everything for laughs" I didn't mean literally everything or every character was comedic. But TPTB put so much effort into comedy, it did tend to eat the show for a few years (again not literally). I'm just expressing my perspective on the topic, and lots of folks probably disagree.  That's cool. People who like comedy on soaps tend to defend it, and folks who don't like comedy (or think it want too far) tend to criticize it.  Whichever side of the fence one is on, it sure didn't help the ratings on AW.
    • Nope, it was not just you, I had the same issues. Most either disagreed with me, or just ignored my comments. But, I most definitely would have liked for them to take another route, even to add sheer variety in the storytelling. It is what it is, the story is a hit with the fans...
    • You may be a casual watcher, but you got SO much right.
    • I've been eagerly awaiting Kate's first episode under the new writers, and I wasn't disappointed. I started reminiscing about all of Kate's misdeeds when she said how good of a liar she was and how she saw right through Roman's lying. I really buy this matured, but still wise Kate in 2025, and the fact that you know under the right circumstances, the more ruthless side is always there, under the surface. Hopefully, with Roman about to confess, we get the full truth about just what the hell happened with Johnny the night EJ was shot, then all the major suspects will be eliminated, just for the writers to throw in that wrench that's waiting for it's time to shine. Everytime Brady thaws even a little bit towards Kristen I immediately get concerned. I was entertained by their fight, and it was smart to mention Kirsten having no friends, let alone positive female relationships except for Lani in regards to why Rachel is such a loser. As a viewer, do you think Stacy Haiduk as Kristen was at all thinking about her former friendships with Jennifer and Billie in that moment? I wonder if she's even aware that they were, or who Billie even is. Anyway, I do wish Kristen could have also thrown in Brady's face that he's literally the biggest slut in Salem. Rachel seeing and possibly hearing about him going from woman to woman would also negatively affect Rachel's negative ideals about women, and possibly her own self-hatred. I thought Doug's favourite class being English lit was a good through line from how impressed he was with grandpa Doug's poetry book to Julie. Hearing he dropped out because no one at home cared just made me yearn for more information about Charles LeClair as a father and person. Maybe it was this time that Robert LeClair was dying so Charles was distracted and it all fell apart after that? Alex with Kristen today is the most interesting I've seen him written. He was smarmy and cold and for a quick second looked like he was enjoying playing with Kristen clearly throwing herself at him, but when she dropped her facade he became merciful, but still unwilling to budge. He would have fit in well in the more complex 70s era as a cad with a heart underneath his bravado. However, and I can't stress this enough, I absolutely despise whenever he calls Philip, 'Phil.' It just itches my brain in all the wrong ways.
