Please note: The Llanview High Principal is played by Broadway star Charlotte D'Amboise; I know her best from the legendary B'way flop Carrie: The Musical. I'm not sure if it's still there, but a certain tubey site used to have footage of her in that fiasco singing her signature number, "Out For Blood," in which high schoolers slaughter farm animals in preparation for dousing Carrie with pig's blood at the prom. "And I'm nooootttt out for peeeaccceee, I'm Out For Blood!!!"

Right. I'm sitting here surprised that we've gotten this far already. If Jess keeps this a secret, well, that's not really a good thing for her character. Wouldn't make a lot of sense.

Look at Sister Blair.

This Wes guy, what's going on there? I predict that he's gonna get killed, I don't know why I sense that, but I feel like being pushed out of town won't be enough for him.

I was disappointed in today's show.

1) I love Blair and I hate Marty and Marty got all the good lines "Marty the party girl wouldn't look at you twice"

2) The one thing I was really hoping for from the Jessica/Natalie conflict was some balance. I'm trying not to jump the shark here and I still hope it will unfold differently than it played today, but I have to admit my faith is shaken. I mean Jessica admits that at the very least she conspired with her alter to murder her sister, and Clint and Viki listen to the whole thing and when it's over all they have to say is "Will Jessica be ok?". Not one iota of concern about Natalie? Not much balance IMO. Maybe when Jessica comes home it will shift a bit.

3) The teen story is so predictable, and I'm tired of Cole thinking his pain is oh so superior to everyone else's.

4) UO: ML and the guy who plays Wes are pretty much like every other newbie and some of the more veteran performers in that they just don't do drama very well. The flashbacks were better than the reaction.

I'm so tired of Marty. I would have much rather seen her in therapy. Instead we get this supposed party girl whose only partying is hanging out with Wes and making passes at John. She's dull, and smug, and we get this drama where she and Blair have to fight over two men who aren't worth the bother.

If Starr truly cared about Cole, she would tell someone about the pills. Instead, she gives him some very high-handed treatment before going back to thinking about herself.

I don't know if its the writing, or the staging, or the performances, but I've been riveted by the showdown between Bess and Tess. This is the best I've seen from Bree Williamson.

Wes is nothing special, but I thought ML was fantastic today.

Oh shut up Marty. She is quickly becoming the most annoying character on ABC Daytime and thats saying alot

What was up with Blair's sweater? Girl looked like a nun

Loved Natalie's hair. She looks amazing

Im really enjoying Wes. I say they give him a contract and keep him.

Out for Blood and Do Me a Favour are two of my all time fave showtunes :D There's a great interview with Charlotte by Broadway divo Seth Rudetsky online where she talks a lot about Carrie. She dishes a lot about the mess that was Carrie, Barbara Cook leaving between the brief London run and being replace dby Buckley for Braodway, how her partner--that star from Fame--was alwasy high when performing, Debbie Allen's bizarre "high school students from space" staging and choreography, etc. She's married to fellow CATS star Terrance Mann (also famous as Javert in Les Mis and the Beast in Beauty and the Beast) who was on AMC for about 6 monthsa round '97.

Anyway I saw Charlotte D'Amboise play Roxie Hart in the 1999 tour of Chicago and she was *amazing*. She's a decent singer but where her talent really shines is dancing (she was recently Cassie in the revival of Chorus Line) she's one of THE best women dancers working musical theatre right now--it was one of the best live performances I've seen by anyone. She comes from a big dancing family of course (her dad is famous ballet dancer Jaques D'Amboise and her brother Chris is also a famous dancer). Cool to see her on One Life tho' kinda sad to know the role wont' show off any of her talents. Still it'll give her money between musicals... (Funny at the time I saw Chicago was more excited that Billy Flynn was played by Brent Barett, Tony Barclay from All my Children who of course is now a serious leading man on broadway--but good as he was Charlotte owned the show)

    • Love this! You are both adorable. Wow
    • I have not gone back to watch much of 1987, but from what I've seen lately, it doesn't feel like the writers or producers had any sort of plan. The show feels as if it's constantly in flux.  I will give it credit for this. It's watchable for the most part minus Lisa/Jamie which I find nearly unwatchable now.   I don't find Cheryl mousy. I think she has a lot of quiet strength, but she was saddled with the Scott romance which the writers did not invest in. She had a good friendship with Julie (also criminally underused), and her interactions with Ada were enjoyable as well. I also like Layman, but Spencer was extremely talented and when Cass returns, Schnetzer and Spencer have some wonderful scenes. Spencer also fits in with Alexander, Hogan, and Marie.  I'd forgotten just how much I missed seeing Wallingford. IT was so good to see him again. Even when they didn't have a major plot, Felicia/Cass/Wallingford/Mitch always brings a smile to my face.
    •   Dani’s cute ass party planner. He gave me some tea but I was so drunk I don’t remember it.
    • NBC must have been grateful to have LHOTP, it's only hit and still strong after several seasons. Their next established show was Rockford Files at 45th. They didn't develop any comedies and relied on movies and mini series  which didnt establish viewer loyalty and habits. Their only new hit was mid season's Project UFO which debuted Feb up against Rhoda/On Our Own on CBS and How the West Was Won on ABC. It opened with a strong 36 share beating CBS and close to ABC as HTWWW had a 36 share over 3 hours. The next week UFO saw a respectable 32 share, then a 31 so it was slipping. A 28 share followed but a few weeks later it jumped back up to a 34. So no blockbuster but compared to what else they had, there was potential, So next season NBC sent it to Thursday up against Mork and The Waltons and it bombed.  They were smart to see potential in Chips, which took off on Saturdaysnext season. ABC was on a roll with Love Boat, 3's Company, Taxi, Eight is Enough adding to their hits. Their only real flops were Redd Foxx and San Pedro Beach Bums, an Aaron Spelling misfire. Like Redd Foxx, Harvey Korman was lured to ABC but his series was a filler that did well but was considered a time slot hit. Nancy Walker and Rob Reiner were also given series on the philosophy that not only were they popular names, their absence from popular shows like Sanford, Rhoda and All in the Family might weaken those shows. CBS were relying on old favorites. Betty White was strong the first few weeks then faded. Incredible Hulk was their strongest newbie. It was lucky for CBS that NBC was doing so badly or else some of their weaker shows would have really suffered.
    • That outfit looks like something Martin would wear lol.
    • Omg not we both ran into people from the show this weekend!
    • I guess he was let out the gates, because he's outside.
    • Yup.  You can hate John all you want, but like seriously he was the cornerstone of the show for years.  So he should get a long ass funeral and burial and all the things because Drake and John deserve that.
