The Italians love their melodrama. :P

Now THESE are all great examples of the misogyny on daytime. I never said Frons didn't encourage a "women are second-class citizens" proponent on his shows. I whole-heartedly agree ABC has turned what is supposed to be a female-driven genre into an entirely male-centric one. My only disagreement was that Carlivati's promotion wasn't a direct result of that. Otherwise, I could not agree more.

Why not? There would be no misogyny anywhere on AMC and OLTL if Higley and McTavish were hired again. Women wouldn't lose their babies, men wouldn't be pimped out to the viewers and placed on a pedestal, and they would return the shows being female driven shows. It would be a new golden age for these two soaps!

Daytime Confidential is reporting that Lisa DeCazotte is being primed to take over AMC either as second in command or as the new AMC executive producer. IMO they should just bring Lisa over to AMC and move Julie back to GH. Julie was under Wendy Riche during the golden years. Have Julie replace JFP, IMO that would be a great move for the soap. I know Frons loves Julie and ABC loves Julie, move her back to GH and have Lisa take over AMC. Lisa used to work over at AMC from 1994 to 1996 under Felicia Minei Behr.

Lisa did a fabulous job on Night Shift 2, as good as Sri was. Lisa was very instrumental in the success of the show. Frons was very impressed. Also Lisa has a long history with ABC daytime. She started as Paul Rauch's assistant in the mid 80's and rose through the ranks at OLTL. She was there for many many years and the moved over to AMC for 2 years in the mid 90's under Felicia Behr. She left AMC in 1996 to move over to NBC daytime. She was hired on the new Sunset Beach and then rose through the ranks at that show before NBC gave her Passions. Lisa was beloved by James E Reilly, the cast and the crew of the show. She was the show's only executive producer. After Passions was done, Lisa was a free agent and then went to NS but NS 2 was great. She executed the show very well. Frons wants to find her something. AMC has had alot of budget cuts this year. The ABC cast/crew love Julie but she has not executed Pratt's vision in the best way. They want more of someone who can execute on that level. Lisa is a smart producer and she was very good at the budget on Passions. The show still looked great while operating on a tight budget. Everyone keeps punching poor Ellen Wheeler LMAO. Michael Bruno in SOD said despite GL's ratings being lower, the show has saved a massivly tremendous amount of money and actually turns a profit. GL turned a profit this year and has money in it's bank account. Last year at this time it was double negative in it's account. It was not only broke but it's account was in the negative range.

Oh how I would love for ABC to fire JFP after over 11 years of her reign of terror at OLTL/GH. GH though is not JFP's vision, it is Guza's. Guza absolutely loves JFP and he detested Wendy Riche. So JFP stays because Guza supports his twisted/sadistic vision.

    • Mick Savage was sooo unbearable. And more unbearable was the reaction from the female characters to him - they were acting like he is God's gift to women and sooo irresistible. To a point of unbelievable cringe.
    • Today was a short one. Only 33 minutes.  The ‘Part One’ graphic at the beginning was pretty interesting though. I didn’t expect them to do something like that.  I like how everything was focused around John and his family and friends. Again, the acting and the dialogue was very well done and well written. And I love that they were able to incorporate Drake’s, “swing for the fences” phrase into the script. It was nice seeing everyone interact with each other, especially characters who don’t often share scenes together. It felt like every character was part of a big family or community. Plus, an outdoor funeral in June makes a lot more sense than an outdoor funeral in December.  But yeah, it’s very, very strange that Will isn’t at the funeral, especially since we know that

I would much rather he had been there today. And, where’s Anna too? And Jack and Jennifer? What was the point of bringing them all back if they weren’t going to attend the funeral? I expected Steve to want to close down BlackPatch, though I’d rather he just retire and let Paul take it over. But I like that Kayla was there to comfort him. I wonder if he’s going to change his mind at some point.  It was nice seeing Shane again too. Now, he just needs to have more scenes with his son lol but I enjoyed seeing him comfort Marlena. I’m not really sure about his interaction with Cat though? Was it really necessary for this to happen now, at John’s funeral? They could’ve waited a little longer to introduce this story arc.  Btw, was Tate bleeding from his head in his first scene with Arianna?

    • This is wonderful! Thank you for posting this! I loved the first two seasons and never got to see the final season when they cancelled the DVD release. I've been hoping this popped up on streaming but no luck. Happy I'll finally get to see how it ended!

    • Arguably DAYS OF OUR LIVES has been brilliant lately & definitely was last week. But, here I am with nitpick & technicalities. This was the only misstep but it was just a stupid thing that should have been caught. Deidre Hall as Marlena has this one problematic line, "It didn't matter how many identities you had, I always knew exactly who you were, you were the man who saved my life." - Marlena, DAYS, 6-2-25 Unfortunately the flashback closest to it was when Marlena was on the phone, terrified because she thought he was Stefano. Yes, it's true that the line is not accurate. There were many times when she did not feel the way she is claiming because of whatever was going on in story with his 'retconned to hell & back' identity & origin story. Does it keep the whole week from being called excellent? Nope.
