precisely why millions need to speak up such as this gentleman. this jerk needed to hear this in the manner in which it was spoken. thank you for posting.

I'm glad to post. I agree more people need to speak up and more people need to hear this. Trump is trying very hard to obstruct and subvert but the narrative needs to be very clear and somethings (like life and death) are as clear as day.

Meanwhile, Trump just panicked (again) - told Lester Holt Comey told him he wasn't under investigation, and that he was going to fire Comey anyway regardless. This destroys his fake pretext, in addition to being another batch of lies.

Also during this interview - I can't believe I am saying this - Trump took credit for inventing the expression "prime the pump".

Irate, Joe Scarborough called into MSNBC to again call Trump a liar and a fool, which to be fair is all true. This is happening very fast, y'all.

From Time, this ugly expose: Donald Trump After Hours

Quote

A clutch of aides follow him, including McMaster, Pence and press secretary Sean Spicer. The President raises a remote and flicks on the screen, sorting through old recordings of cable news shows, until he comes to what he is after: a clip from the Senate hearing earlier in the day, as broadcast on Fox News. The first clip he shows is of South Carolina Senator Lindsey Graham speaking to former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper. Graham asks if Clapper stands by his statement that he knows of no evidence of collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia. Trump waits quietly, until Clapper admits that nothing has changed. Trump pantomimes a sort of victory.

“Yes. He was choking on that,” the President chortles. “Is there any record at all of collusion? He was the head of the whole thing. He said no. That’s a big statement.” Trump leaves unmentioned the fact that there is an ongoing FBI counterintelligence investigation into possible collusion, which has not yet reached any conclusions. Nor does he note that Clapper, out of government for nearly four months, could not possibly know everything the FBI has learned, and likely would have not known all even when he was in office. Trump also leaves unmentioned that he had a meeting that day with his new Deputy Attorney General about firing Comey, the director of that investigation...

The next clip starts to play, this time showing Iowa Senator Chuck Grassley asking Clapper and former acting Attorney General Sally Yates if they ever requested that the names of Trump, his associates or members of Congress be identified by name, or unmasked, in a legal intelligence intercept. “Watch them start to choke like dogs,” Trump says, having fun. “Watch what happens. They are desperate for breath.”

Clapper, on the screen, pauses several beats to search his memory. “Ah, he’s choking. Ah, look,” the President says. After a delay, Clapper finally answers, admitting that he had requested an unmasking, which would have been a routine occurrence in his former job. The running Trump commentary continues. “See the people in the back, people are gasping,” he says, though it’s unclear who he is referring to on the screen. He also mentions the sound of photographers’ cameras clicking on the television.

Charles Pierce has a go.

An absolutely deranged interview with DT from The Economist. And Matthew Yglesias' dissection of it.

I know y'all don't want to believe it, but I really believe Trump's world is caving in on him and impeachement is happening, even if it's not soon, it's going to happen.

I believe he will leave office early I'm just not sure if it's going to be impeachment, arrest, resignation and fleeing the country, or a body bag. My personal preference would be arrest on RICO charges. That would mean asset forfeiture which oddly enough the FBI tweeted about right around the time the raid started.

Of course, I want to believe it, LOL.

It's just that the people who believe that Pence will be worse-- all I can say is, that's why it's especially important that as many of these recalcitrant GOPers in Congress be voted out.  That's regardless of whether Trump can survive the term or not.

Update:

Those two working together again is a wonderful development.

Uh, I completely believe it and have said it all along. It's claiming Pence is the same or worse that gets me. Trump is a noxious blowhard but has coasted by on the illusion of charisma and bluster for decades. Pence has the charisma of a wood tick, has zero bluster and cannot get himself elected to national office - all things that are anathema to long-term survival in Washington. The media may prop him up a bit if it comes to that to keep the country afloat in the immediate wake of this disaster with Trump, but as a standing president? He doesn't have a prayer on his own and when election time comes around they won't be trying to help him. Because Pence is neither charismatic nor exciting nor capable. They've never had the love affair with Pence they've had with others; the only attempt to burnish his credentials was last year, when it seemed like he might moderate Trump or help him pivot to becoming human and respectable. He was a talisman for Trump, a symbol, an accessory, but he didn't do it. He was never anything on his own.

Bottom line: We can handle Pence.

Meanwhile:

Also the narrative of Pence as innocent in all this has been destroyed. He's as complicit and compromised as everyone else. Even if he survives this - which is becoming a bigger "if" by the day - he's going to be kneecapped. If the IC and FBI are as hungry for blood as they seem to be, we might very well end up with President Hatch.

exactly...that's why I agree with others who say Pence is just as bad as Trump...and worse than Trump in some ways because even though Trump is a fool, Pence is jst outright dangerous with his neo-christian beliefs....which I feel he will try to wrap legislation around them if/when he becomes POTUS

The best way? kneecap them both. Ryan is gutless and can be handled with ease. well, easier than the two fools in charge now.
