If the Democrats are the ones to tank the debt ceiling negotiations it will be an epic self sabotage. The Republicans are so good at evading responsibility this is going to land right on Biden.

It's not pedestrian at a time like this. High inflation with some nice corporate greed mixed in is worrisome. This is the first time in many years that I hear the people around me switching brands or changing their food buying habits. Biden is right that the cost of energy and food is important to people. It's another area where Biden could take the blame unfairly.

I want to believe that people are too smart to hold these issues against democrats, but I don't. We are surrounded by selfish idiots as 2016 proved.

I agree that it’s not pedestrian, I just wish it would get the serious and in depth analysis and discussion that it deserves. It’s so sad that two or three corporations have been allowed to set prices and inventory to grocery stores and supermarkets nationwide. Companies like Walmart and Amazon are allowed to determine distribution networks and prices even in areas where there is neither a Wal, Walmart nor an Amazon distribution center for fifty miles. Someone in the Biden administration could raise the issue and continue to raise the issue, as well as how it got to this state. This problem is going all the way back to the 1980s Reagan era. Raise the issue and enlist the help of the American people to change this, may be a way to put the focus where it rightly belongs. Getting ahead of the issue before some entity on the opposite side of the political spectrum has a chance to spin lies.

Yeah, the big topics in 2022 were high prices of gas and food prices. Reproductive rights was another one, but the GOP (of course) focused on inflation instead of the latter. Yet, the GOP didn't have a plan nor do they have a strategy to fix inflation today.

Honestly, I feel that people need to reminded of this quite frequently as it flies right over our heads and the average American voter tends to forget about it as midterms are over. I dunno. I'm aware of what's going on though. I'm in Virginia to be with family this summer and it's such a culture shock it's not even funny. Anyway, I was at Kroger and I noticed a huge difference in food pricing as compared to Chicago. It's soooo crazy. Crazier than seeing men wearing John Deere camouflage cap hats and women wearing banana clips.

Inflation leveling off is not going to fix the problems in the food market. My brother and late father worked in the food industry for a long time. I live in Chicago.  We have had independent retailers for years. Jewel owned by Albertsons now. Jewel was one of our independent retailers in the market as were places like Marianos(now owned by Kroger). See what happens when the Albertsons sale is fully felt and if Albertsons is purchased by Kroger, it will end the fairly reasonable food pricing in the Chicago marketplace.Pets Market at some point as they grow locally will also be snapped up by a mega retailer.

I remember months back that idiocy that Jason Fuhrman started about elites and their fancy Brooklyn stores as to why people look down on Walmart. Does he understand what Walmart did to flyover country all over the United States? How it gutted small towns and Main Street. Now Amazon has joined the fray. Harvard educated?

Oh, I agree. I'm like the Aldi guy who doesn't care if I have to bag my own groceries, lol! You know?Seriously, it doesn't bother me. I also support local independent grocers as I find fruits and vegetables to be more affordable as compared to those you would find at a Kroger/Mariano's. But yeah, when I'm lazy and I don't feel like cooking from scratch, I'll usually get those healthy lean entrees in the frozen section at Jewel. Being in Virginia for the summer where it seems like the only grocery places to go to are either Food Lion or Kroger, these frozen entree prices are absolutely ridiculous. Several months ago, I went to a Food 4 Less (owned by Kroger) in the Evanston area after a physical therapy appointment, and even I was puzzled as to why it was called a Food 4 Less. I could've gotten the same items for a lesser price at Jewel. Of course, this is not a subject of me being cheap or a penny pincher. Rather, it's about being logical. It's so crazy and greedy how Kroger operates. Thanks for shedding some light on the subject.

Pick 'N Save, lol! Here I was talking about Food 4 Less, but Pick 'N Save sounds like Mayberry, lol!  No, you gotta do what you gotta do.

As far as the article above, I guess having a straight poker face is easier at the casinos instead of talking to constituents with a straight poker face.

Question for the B&B group: I see @rsclassicfanforever has uploaded multiple seasons from Videoland  (in the folders that are to be put away). They are huge folders and difficult to download so I started breaking them down into months but I realized they are by season so for example, Season 4 spans from March 1990 to March 1991. Now I'm wondering where to actually place them, since we have the Full Episodes section divided by year, not seasons. And most of these seasons we already have in full, so these are duplicates. Not sure if it's necessary to keep the older versions. I could just make another new section for Seasons, so the main folders would be "Behind the Scenes and Interviews," "Clips," "Full Episodes," "Full Seasons," "Music CDs," and "photo archive Marquise" but I'm not sure that really makes sense. Also wondering since we have almost every full episode now if "Clips" can be deleted in its entirety, as it's nearly 300GB.
    • CBS moving Murder, She Wrote from Sunday to Thursday was straight up sabotage. Les Moonves knew exactly what he was doing.
    • I sure hope you’re right. The lack of sets is maddening!
    • I'm hoping that the new studio might have more space, meaning extra sets could be permanently erected. Perhaps the current  set issues are due to limited space available at Television City as it shuts down for the redevelopment. But if more space means spending more $$$ we might be stuck with the current situation no matter where they move.
    • Thanks @P.J. If my math is correct, Jordan Clarke runs were 1983-1987, 1989-1993, 1997-end.
    • I was/am mainlining both the Dream Season and Season 7 of KL together, since that was the year of their big creative swap. That's the most I can take of Dallas consecutively. But I've been very preoccupied with other shows and work IRL and I need to get back to it after a long break from my Knots binge.
    • Wk 1 95/96 MSW moves to Thurs, Cybill takes the Sunday slot. Thurs 8-9pm NBC Friends #3 20.5/33 The Single Guy #6 19.2/30 CBS Murder She Wrote #55 9.3/15 ABC Charlie Grace #74 7.6/12 FOX Living Single # 78 7.2/12 The Crew #80 7.0/11 Sunday 8-9pm NBC Mad about You # 15 14.6/23 Hope & Gloria #35 11.7/18 ABC Lois & Clark # 38 11.4/18 CBS Cybill #49 9.8/15 Almost Perfect #65 8.1/12 FOX Space Above & Beyond (2nd hr of 2hr episode) #51 9.5/15 60 Minutes was #19 so a lot of viewers didn't stay for Cybill. On Sunday, Sept. 24, CBS finished third on the night, and its performance among 18 -49 year olds was worse than it was with the older skewing Murder, She Wrote in the time period last year.  So moving MSW was a foolish move at that point. It was compatible with 60 Minutes and would probably have finished Top 20-25 for the week. They should have left Sunday alone and concentrated on other nights..
