So Trump and his cartoon villain flunky Mnuchin made the markets crash even more and Trump is going to try to fire the fed chief (remember when some insisted everything would be great once Janet Yellin was pushed out...?), all over Christmas. It's like something from one of those '80s movies, only there is no one coming to save Christmas, and America. I don't even believe McConnell will really step in if he does fire Powell.

I think 2019 is going to be the real test for America's future, and that's long before anything with Mueller comes home to roost. We are in a period where there is no longer any norm, and there is nothing to replace the norm. There is just ever-spiraling nothingness and helplessness.

The thing is, we aren't helpless. We have levers to take action, and we did that this fall and will do so more. You're right that it's a test, but what matters now is following through with action in the new year.

Merry merry, everyone.

I'm sure Nancy Pelosi and the Democrats (who don't have the power to undercut her the way they did in the past) will try their hardest. I just wish we had a responsible Senate. McConnell is beholden to the money men, so maybe if they finally tire of Trump he will step in...who knows.

It's just so hard to believe we're at the point where the President tells a 7 year old there is no Santa Claus, and I don't even react.

At this point, I think it is the belief that anything good can ever come from a Trump administration at any age would be the marginal thinking.

It appears that the daughters of a Queens based podiatrist are saying that their father helped to diagnose Trump with bone spurs as a favor to D.J's father, Fred Trump in order to help Donald avoid Vietnam after his education deferments were all used up.

I say "helped" because there may have been more than one doctor used.

Everything Trump touches dies.  Including a child's belief in Santa Claus.

The environment is in such a perilous state since these Obama-era rollbacks by the Trump W.H. began.  It is having a truly toxic effect on the people living in the states highlighted in this long-read article.  Even the people in nearby states are at risk.

In the case of the agricultural valley in California, the threats are also real for anyone who eats produce grown in this region.  So basically everyone in the U.S.

    • It definitely flowed beautifully. So much that I was annoyed when Vanessa/Doug because I wanted to get back to the party. I know it was intentional to build up tension and suspense. It worked. lol. I'm glad it was there in hingsight because it gave us that great conversation between Doug and Vanessa. Foreshadowing? And yesss!!! This episode was sooo old school soap giving beat after beat after beat leading up to the unveiling of Eva as Ted's daughter. And we still have plenty of fallout/aftereffects to work through.   Speaking of...Bill, Bill, Bill lol. Good to have confirmation HE was the scary lawyer.   I'm sure I will have a busy Monday, but I can't wait for it. I don't know what I'm looking forward to more. Probably Anita vs Silk Press Sheila tbh. And yes, I feel they will be matching each other 'blow for blow.'
    • And if they go there, it could also be tied to Johnny completely cutting him off, possibly going to work for Titan, etc.
    • @AbcNbc247 maybe it is just that they've gone to that well too often, and I don't like when DAYS goes dark, but I'm OK with EJ abusing drugs, and just skipping the whole sobriety part. Side note: experiencing hallucinations of my son killing me would be enough for me to never want to take a pill again.

    • Part of the reason that Courtney worked at OLTL was because the show had an actual character for her to play.  One that was somewhat different than her character on AW, and after the way she was treated over at AW.. it had to have been nice to be courted onto a new soap that actually valued your contributions.
    • I figured the "long" was already implied

    • The show has finally figured out the correct scene to have at the end of the episode. The one thing I loved about the show today was that we got a pretty decent length scene of Silk Press Sheila at the celebration without any cutaways.  It reminded me of an old school soap opera scene that would run several moments (i.e. Renee's long speech going after the upstanding citizens of Salem on Days in 1983 before her murder).   I think Anita and Silk Press Sheila would be evenly matched.. she would be the one person that Anita would have to work to get the best of.    I do agree that Derek/Ashley were probably cut from the episode.. and maybe their scenes will be used in a different episode.  The scenes that were included (Bill/Hayley and Vanessa/Doug) had something to do with the scenes going on at the party.    Unpopular opinion:  I actually prefer Bill with Hayley.. .they make a good couple.
