There was a case of voter fraud that resulted in a conviction in Ventura County, CA where I live and the perp was a white man registered as a Republican who filled out his dead father's mail ballot. Voter fraud is rare, but when it does happen it seems like it involves Republicans.

The thing is, apparently there are more than just three e-mails according to the New York Times. And even Newsweek's Kurt Eichenwald had to walk back his earlier tweet about three e-mails.

Do I pray to God (or whatever entity of one's choosing) this doesn't derail HRC and give this race to Trump? Absolutely. But the media will dig, even if it is nothing, and the average Joe or Jane won't keep this in context and will buy into the hysteria.

But places like BBC, Sky News, Seven Network, and the rest of the Australian/British/International press always bring up whenever this email issue is drug back up that Colin Powell also used a private server and email address (and that his staff used AOL) and that the Bush administration deleted/lost something like 20 million emails. The Bush administration also had 13 embassy attacks with 60 something deaths as compared to the one Benghazi attack. They're obviously not lying about those things happening (a simple online search shows that they all happened) so why are they all not drug through the mud like Hillary? Why is she the only one who has to deal with this while Powell and Bush aren't held accountable? That's why at this point at just looks like a witch hunt.

The issue is that these emails are probably duplicates of what the FBI already reviewed. It's increasingly looking like the FBI Director is playing political games to interfere with the election. If anyone is going to be in trouble, it might be him. This is incredibly shady.

https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/the-fix/wp/2016/10/28/the-fbis-october-surprise-just-made-hillary-clintons-awful-week-even-worse/

The giddiness from the Beltway is stomach-churning. "Man. What an election." They're loving this. It fits into a narrative already being pushed by the media about how Clinton is doing poorly again and Trump is on the comeback. They even outline in detail about how this will be sure to rev up Republicans and keep Democrats at home. You can already see the narratives they will push 24/7 to the election to make sure at the very least Republicans keep Congress and Trump only barely loses. Then they can get more of what they love best - years of investigations and scandals, and hysteria surrounding two people they've hated for over 20 years. And plenty of ratings too.

I just hope voters won't fall for this, but so many are always eager to jump on the "dishonest Clinton - at least with Trump what you see is what you get" and "they're both the same, why bother?" bandwagon, it's hard to expect anything different. I just wish people could see through the media lies and realize they will be ruining their futures if they keep the GOP in charge of Congress.

She  is always going to be held to a different standard, but she knows that so so why behave in ways that feed the beast?   Rightly or wrongly they have been painted these last  25 years as  Lord and Lady Macbeth:  the slickest of the slick and his scheming wife.   So why behave in ways that give ammo to your enemies to keep on pushing it?  It isn't as if it is a one time instance.  She knew she was running for president, so why give secret speeches you hope never see the light of day?   Why the secret email that is so secret you have to delete everything before it gets made public?  You know this is your rep you will never shake, so why even participate in these things?   Why did he take a private meeting with the attorney general  of the whole country a week before the FBI decides to not push for charges?    Were they talking about the weather?   Did that have to be confidential and days before the person he is talking to decides whether or not to indict Hillary?    How does that make sense?

She's been accused of everything up to literally murder, so go that extra step to not give people anything to accuse you of.   Nobody ever tries to say Obama and his wife are murderous schemers out to get rich because it wouldn't make sense and be laughed at.   But Bill and Hillary have a different persona.  I like the Clintons and would have voted for him for a third term, but as much as I like him (and to a lesser extent her) I'll admit they are tricky to the point you could pattern fictional villains on them.    There are people who believe Bill told Trump to run just to destroy the republicans and make it easy for Hillary to win.  I literally had that discussion with two Sanders supporters who believe it is true.  I have no idea if it is, but when they told me that I had to laugh because who else could you accuse this of except the Clintons?

Trump got past an entire field of Republican candidates that numbered in the double digits, so what does this say about the GOP?

As for the Clintons, HRC, in particular, she needs to do some housekeeping and she may have to suggest that Huma stick to the private sector- some of the Clinton's associates are so very messy and it is a huge contrast to "No drama Obama" and this current administration that has remained scandal free, despite the best efforts of the Republicans.

This is not going to change my vote because I believe that Trump is a reprobate but I need HRC to clean up her act and I hope she doesn't take some of these people with her into a possible HRC administration-- tidy up.

That's one of the most inexplicable things Bill Clinton has ever done.  I don't care if he's 70 and frail, he knows better.  And over all I agree with you. When there's a witch hunt on it's time to stop leaving brooms and pointy hats all over your house, but the Clinton's just can't do it.  And yeah, when people say it's all the media or it's all the Republicans, I look at the Obama's and go, nope, not really. Their house is messy and it has been for a long time. They have given their enemies a lot to work with.

The one thing Hillary has in her corner is almost anything that might be a little shady surrounding her, Trump has inevitably done the same only worse. There was a story awhile back about Bill doing a speech for the Saudi's, but they were really just paying him to help rehabilitate their image (not illegal, just kind of shady). I'll admit I find it distasteful, but is it anywhere near as bad as what goes on with Trump's foundation where he just takes the money for himself? Nope. How about Trump University where he flat out scammed desperate people.

So yeah, Trump and Clinton are not equivalent, but I don't think that gives her a free pass either.

Huma seems to be like a daughter to her so I can't see that happening. The Clintons are loyal to a fault, but sometimes it is a very big fault. It's a shame that she tolerated so much from Anthony Weiner, who seems to be a complete and total shitstain.

Yeah, I'm well aware of the relationship between Huma and Hillary but I was just thinking aloud.

If she didn't shift Huma out of the campaign when people were excoriating the campaign over Huma having one foot working for a private firm while on the campaign last year, HRC certainly won't move her now but Huma also needs to clean up her act. I'm hoping that once the divorce is final, that will provide a good batch of disinfectant.

The big problem here isn't Hillary, it's the FBI Director who clearly has played politics here close to the election. If these emails he's referring to are actually duplicates, then it's clear that he was trying to play politics. That is who is shady here and he needs to resign immediately because he has abused his authority big time. These emails are not even from Clinton, which makes this whole "discovery" even more suspect. If he doesn't resign, he's going to have to at least hold a press conference and clarify this whole situation, because it doesn't set right.

    • I liked the food poisoning angle on Thursday because I said beforehand that I would be annoyed if Vanessa was not there at her BFF's party. And I loved they already planned ahead in the dialogue. lol.   But watching the scene (and a bit of a rewind), it hit me. Wait is she...??? Ooo gurrrl. lol.
    • I'm not at all surprised the 10 lowest-rated episodes are all from Season Seven. Moving The Golden Girls from 9 p.m. to 8 p.m. was foolish.
    • As the folklore goes, Love Boat episodes generally had one "heart" story, one "laughs" story, and one "tears" story. I guess Hotel just stuck with "heart" and "tears."
    • I thought food poisoning was an odd reason for Vanessa to miss the party.  That's why I appreciate reading everyone's comments and theories on this thread.  Oh!!  It hadn't occurred to me to speculate that she might be pregnant. I figured that she and Doug ate different things.  But pregnancy fits better.  I did think Shanice's dialogue delivery was slightly awkward (unusual for her)... but that would make sense if Shanice knew Vanessa had a pregnancy test but Vanessa said don't tell Doug.  I love all this theorizing/speculating, especially since we have no idea what will happen.
    • I want that as well, but given how much I've been playing catch-up during some personal/family drama, it's been background music with very little to hold my interest. Then I saw a spoiler and rolled my eyes.   Very. I guess JG is hitting another of his low points.
    • Well...unexpected wiggle room is still wiggle room.   I went back and finally rewatched Friday's episode (along with Thursday's). And God, how those episodes flowed. It did help that Zimmerman did the breakdowns for both so the plot threads were cohesive. I do wonder if she did it today as well. Martin and Tate also of course did good scripts. And I might have to take back my earlier comment about the crowd. While it was not like Nicole's Award Event where I felt there were more extras (and was in the minority on that), I felt this one did not have enough (also in the minority). But on a rewatch, I did like that Production actually did a fairly decent job of covering it up so kudos.    I also wanted to take the moment to say the majority of the week before last (and this past week) were full of cliffhangers. Perhaps not what is used to, but they were there. And I loved that since the majority of said cliffhangers were connected to Silk Press Sheila, it gave an intensity and build to the last week leading to this superb episode that gave us not only an old school soap reveal (complete with moments to let the scenes breathe, but annoyed in how other scenes which were also good did not compare...another sign of knowing when a reveal is great) but, THREE cliffhangers!!! Well-done, Cliffhanger Friday!!!   Ms. Mann and Ms. Michelle were clearly the stars. I've said it once someone mentioned it and I'll say it again...Ambyr just gives so much SMG's version of Kendall on AMC in Eva, and I love that. And that reveal on Silk Press Sheila...WOW. Great to have confirmation that BILL was the lawyer. Even better to see Silk Press interacting with all of the Duprees and not being a bit scared. And yes, I caught that she was preggers at the same time as Nicole. I also caught in the Martin vs Ted scene when he was talking about the timeline was another clue...since we discussed the timeline during Kat's birthday party episodes and how odd it was that Silk Press Sheila would celebrate Eva's birthday if the weeks were off. UNLESS...they're not. I just feel they would not be mentioning it unless SilkPress has a 90s DAYS Sami Trump card incoming. And 90s DAYS Sami Brady ALWAYS had a trump card. So...looking forward to today. lol.    I'm also going to be in the minority about the next thought. I thought Maurice did a good job as Ted in the reveal scenes. Though I do agree that compared to everyone else...even his FOINE doctor friend...he was the weak leak. DD was giving and she was in the background reacting. The Avengers...I mean...the Duprees closing ranks...was great and also showed how in sync the actors were. Naomi being sure Chels was not filming THIS time was a hoot. And I lived for Kat's shade among the mess. I'm happy that we are here at this reveal with OriginalTed since the rumor (marking preemptions) we are a little under two weeks to go before he's out.   I liked the layers. One thing that I like about this show. We usually mention something here and then the show writers have it mentioned either in episode or immediately in the next. The SilkPress/Eva picture last week. Where is Naomi/Vanessa this week of episodes. And they got to it. Well-played. I also like the reveal that Martin knew SilkPress as a kid, calling back to that weird scene with the brownie. I mentioned the Bill-as-Lawyer scene, calling back to Bill/Vernon's first alone scene. The reveal of all of SilkPress's many names. The fact that Andre and Dani continue to grow closer and closer and had a near-miss...something this show knows how to do extremely well for me. Their near-misses built up the drama and story, and I see how much I'm invested when we have them. The whole Silk Press Sheila story being the best example.    I see from a few of the comments some of you all are already thinking about those consequences toward Bill that I was thinking about on Friday.

And while I did not like the Vanessa/Doug scenes at first view...though I love they followed up on her food poisoning phone call on Thursday...I liked it on second watch. Partly because it gave another hint that Doug has some idea of what Vanessa is doing...if not who.  Partly because I had assumed that Doug got poisoned, too. Seeing it was just Vanessa confused me since I thought they were out at dinner pre-party. That said...I go back to my original thought in that moment. Has Vanessa being having all this sex without protection and we are going to get a WTD with Doug, Diego, and whoever else she has been with? Uh oh?    And I continue to also love how flashbacks are used. Rare do they show a flashback to a prior episode unless it's important so those are well done. And then you have the flashbacks like the one with Bill/Dani that informs the audience. And I loved that green dress. But tbf, I loved the feistiness of her red dress. Andre was not alone in taking her in.    And someone mentioned it the other day and I wanted to echo it. One thing I like about this show that I don't see much in the other soaps to this degree has been that several of the characters have their own personal style for sure, but the men's style really have stood out for me since its started. Ted being a clear example with his turtlenecks and general...for lack of better word at the moment manly...to him. I like that about the men where other men styles on other soaps just blend together.    Looking forward to Kat v Eva, Anita vs Silk Press Sheila, and Nicole vs Ted today.    Did I mention I was happy Clifton was back?
    • I’ll take a pass on the lecture, because you've overestimated my concern with your feedback, but thanks for the enthusiasm. Your claims of not wanting to get into an argument over every post are unfortunately voided by your impulsive need to add into discussions that are none of your concern. Finally, you may wish to check the definition of coy, because you've used it incorrectly twice in reference to my writing.  I promise that I do not intend to be coy with you.  Or don't look it up and just continue to be incorrect; as usual.
    • I guess it's because the stories on "Hotel" tended to be very...melodramatic, lol?  I mean, it seems like every episode had long-lost lovers reuniting or people finding out someone they knew and/or loved was dying.  And then there was the time Anne Baxter was strung out on dope, lol. Brandon Stoddard must've envied what the other Brandon (Tartikoff) was doing at NBC.
    • Given some of the things that have been said I am going to quote the preface to an analysis I researched & posted about the desired demos when JFP was EP of AW. And, that is more than enough about that, from me.
    • The thing that I am stuck on is that the in studio scenes in Egypt started airing in mid-October. It seems very strange that they would have planned to have a couple of weeks of studio scenes airing before they started showing location footage. Normally even though some scenes in a remote-infused storyline are in studio, they would start airing a mixture of studio and location footage at the same time. I suspect they had put Arizona in their back pocket well before the Achille Lauro (hence Hawk arriving in September) and possibly moved up the Egypt in-studio action so that the remote Arizona piece unfolded during November. The Achille Lauro may have been the final straw but I would bet it was not the first time they considered the risk. I have found one somewhat contemporaneous reference published on October 19th but pinned to an October 7th* "diary entry" mentioning that the location shoot in Egypt had been changed to Arizona. "International terrorism has its effect on daytime drama, too. Another World producers had scheduled an elaborate and expensive location shoot in Egypt this fall, But with the serious military attacks and hijackings going on, they decided to play it safe. They are going to Arizona instead. The cast members involved were disappointed but understood the decision." *Undated, but specified as the Monday before Melody Thomas's wedding to Ed Scott. But of course it's possible that the first draft referred to Egypt and was revised after October 7th to mention the cancellation before it went to press. But even making the decision the week of October 7th seems tight to get the Egypt scenes to air on the 17th/18th. I would love to find something from a daily news cycle that would be clearer about the dates.
