The Winters family drama finally got a shot in the arm with Tyra and Ana stuff on Monday's episode. They're finally interesting. Though, I understand that many don't care for the Winter's, Tyra or Ana, so...

The Jabot stuff this week should be very interesting.

And there's more variety of sets and some newer built sets for Monday's US episode. Where is Y&R getting all this money from? I'm glad for it though.

As I mentioned in the Directors/Writers thread, Janice Ferri Esser is listed as Co-Script Editor again on Monday's US episode. However, it wasn't an episode that called for much historical references.

This should be another good week, a lot is about to happen. :)

I've always felt Tyra is a useful character if written correctly. Let Neil be more of a father figure for her or big brother. Don't just throw them together romantically because she's black. I'd romantically put her with the younger crowd. Billy, Kevin, Daniel, Cane, etc. and see what happens. If Nate is a medical student, maybe bring him back for her. But putting her with Neil would take the character several steps back. Putting her with JT would be another move that would give the show a shot in the arm.

Are you referring to his last scene? On the other hand, Eva Marcille did the 'far away' look during Tyra and Devon's scene together. I really liked the scene because it gave more backstory regarding the emotional pain they suffered when they were kids due to Yolanda.

I think that Yolanda's return could be great if everything gels well.

Great clip of Heather Tom. Her Victoria is the only one who I thought could truly replace Victor in running Newman Enterprises one day and replacing the great Victor Newman. She loved her mother but she was so much more like her father than Nick.

I know everyone is loving the show, but I am missing one of my favs, Tracey Bregman. She hasn't been on since Kay's funeral when she had those two great scenes facing off with Sharon and then apologizing to Tracy Abbott. I just don't understand why Bell and Scheffer are writing so many characters great storyline and nothing for Lauren and then the one they wrote for Michael and his father was poorly thought out and was basically turned into a Gloria story then backburned altogether so Michael can play lackey and lawyer to Victor.

I always believe Tara took Ana and left town, and that why she came to see Neil with lies and more lies. I won't believe that for 11 years Tara raised Ana and Ana believe Tara was her mother. When Tara and Ana ran away ffrom the school that Katherine attained for Ana, she need more prove of Ana like her Birth Cert. Tara must been receiving funds for her or her mother Yolanda and the State wanted prove of Ana whereabout. I never believe Yolanda just gave away her daughter.

I hope Neil and Karen marry. Know one needs Olivia view point about who they should be with. Where Oliva family or man.

Are they bringing Dru back? Jack and his family getting Jaboy back, will Gloria ever pay for the Tainted Cream and the woman dying, I hope the family get the company back, but I hope Sharon leaves Jack and her and Nick get back together.

Two Rats in a hut should be together and I talking about Jack and Phyllis.

    • About the only thing that could really get me interested in this show right now would be a "Who Killed Victor?" storyline IF he stayed dead. The writing for him is atrocious! And the lineup of possible suspects would be most of the canvas. Months worth of great story if done well.....of course...not getting done with Griffith.
    • I really hope you’re wrong. Dani Desperate Dupree being right will make her even more insufferable than she’s already been.
    • I know this board has very strong opinions about Scheffer's reign which run the gamut from brilliant to the nadir of the series.  I'm one of the fans. 2001 - 2005 are, imo, the second best years for the series. The first being Marland.  As The World Turns won Daytime Emmy Awards for Best Drama Series in '87 and '91. However, it wasn't until Scheffer came along that it won again...in '01 and '03. Plus it won for Best Writing Team in '01, '02, '04, and '05, an award it had never managed to win before and didn't again. When Scheffer left and Passanante was the main head writer (along with various other co-head writers) the show began to seriously tank. However, it wasn't just the writing. The budget was gone. The sets were made to be smaller or destroyed. There was all that weird hand held camera directing for a while. Scenes that were obviously shot in the hallway where the series was filmed. I think '06 - '10 is a roller coaster. There are some storylines I really enjoyed and some that were eye-rolling. Looking in the rearview mirror though, I can see that the actors, writers, directors, and crew were working their best with what money they had.
    • They are idiots! It seems crazy that Leslie is inserting herself so much into this investigation but everybody is falling into her traps. I find it to be an interesting back and forth and I'm still not completely sure who will win. I have a theory but I'm going to wait for more to develop before I say more. I feel like Haley has been more on the sidelines so I'm enjoying this new desperate streak she appears to be developing. I'm curious how it'll manifest overtime. I also agree with Dani that I am not convinced she's pregnant. I think she's trying to get pregnant but really just see's herself fading into the background and wants attention and validation from Dani and her family.
    • Thanks for sharing; the set, wow. Ten times better than the "penthouse" she lives in now (is that a surprise, though?).
    • I'd be happy to!

I just read the intro and first chapter and I'm already hooked. I know she had a co-author, but I can tell Kim is a firecracker and I'd love to have wine with her and talk sh!t haha. It makes reading the book pretty easy and entertaining. Intro - I had no idea she got a DUI! She shared 3 bottles of wine with a friend at dinner one night in LA, got in her car, was pulled over and thrown in jail overnight.  She admitted it wasn't her first time drinking and driving, but learned a valuable lesson that night. Out of the gate, she's not holding back or hiding anything. Chapter 1 - the announcement that GL was being cancelled. She was driving to Peapack and got a call from Bradley Cole who told her the news. First, that's BS that as one of the faces of GL, you hear the big news from a fellow co-star on your way to work. Granted, the "suits" were traveling to Peapack that day to tell the cast and crew, but still, seems icky. Ironically the news came on April Fools Day. Apparently that was the last day the network could decide whether to cancel or renew, but to Kim's point, couldn't they just pick the day before to avoid the callousness of the 'holiday'. Obviously a sad day in GL history. I thought it was funny, she said the one thing she thought of is "what would Susan Lucci do" in this situation, post-cancellation. And of course she said she'd "find something to hawk on the Home Shopping Network"  You all would know better than me, but part of the title of her book is "seven husbands" and in her intro, she uses Reva's full name: Reva Shayne-Lewis-Lewis-Spaulding-Lewis-Winslow-Cooper-Lewis-Lewis-O'Neill.  However, in the first chapter, she said Bradley Cole was "her 8th (or was it 9th?) husband". Well, Kim, that already contradicts the title of your book and your character's name you touted.
