WOW! David Andrew Macdonald (Edmund) and Michelle Ray Smith (Ava) will be making appearances on GL. This is on the heel of the news with Grant Alexander (Philip) returning in January 2009, Jeff Branson (ex-AMC) playing Shayne debuts on Dec. 1, and return of Jennifer Rozell (Eleni). Last but not least, Marcy Rylan (Lizzie) re-signed with the show recently. Link to the story: We Love Soaps Blog News

I'm really excited for GL especially with the much improved writing in the past few months. :D

If DAM's return is long term like Grant Aleksander's return, I may be tempted to start watching GL again, but that show is just cringeworthy most of the time.

^^^ IA. This show is a trainwreck. The writing is horrible. They should be investing money in hiring capable writers, not these idiotic short-term returns.

Once they have a cohesive story, then they can work on the cast. That's the only way I'd ever think about watching this show again.

Edmund came back last winter but since the story sucked, it didn't help.

I'm sure Phillip's return will raise the ratings but if the writing doesn't improve DRAMATICALLY, that bump will last two weeks, maybe three.

Yup.

You're probably right. Assuming CBS promotes Phillip's return, I'm sure some people (including myself) will tune in out of curiosity just to see how Phillip's absence was explained and what his SL will be. But after a few weeks of that, the crappy writing will take over and GL will back to exactly where it is now.

I'm sure Phillip will be regulated to picking up trash along the interstate or whatever the hell it is characters do on GL. I saw a clip of Ashlee and Daisy talking in front of a giant rock. Just no rhyme or reason. They were outside, there was a rock and they were in front of it talking about G or Rafe or global warming, I have no idea.

Can not wait for DAM [Edmund] to come back - don't care what he does it is about time Eddie woke up - it was last Dec. when jeff upped his meds to keep him in coma to cover up Cassie crime of changing Beth's baby DNA test.

Melina Kanakaredes from Providence and CSI NY fame.

And Wendy Kaplan. Jennifer Roszell was the third actress to play Eleni.

Are these returns from Ava, Edmund, and Eleni supposed to be short-term or extended?

If short term, the show's dead.

If long term, maybe...just maybe...(especially with GA's return)....things are turning around (for the better) over at GL.

Why would the show be dead if the returns of three people are short term?

That is how DAM came back last time, Eleni has been popping in and out for years and who cars about AVA LOL

David's is supposed to be 13 weeks. He begins taping December 8.
