Would Forbes March make a good recast? I wish DOOL would hire him as an Eric recast. They can then get Emily Harper as his love interest. Both of them are coming to Salem. It would be good, imo.

No way. And no to Josh Duhon. First Forbes March doesn't measure up in the hunk dept to NBC standards, so he can take his jiggly torso back to the land of flab, ABC daytime, thank you very much!

JD does have the body but he projects way too blue collar to portray Philip. The accent would have to go. JKJ was just perfect in the role. Jason gerhardt is such a blank slate that he might be good and he might suck. There is no way of knowing because GH never gave him a story so we could see him act.

This freaking sucks that Jay K. Johnson is leaving as Phillip. DAYS needs Phillip and Jay IMHO is the best Phillip. I hope DAYS ends up giving him a better offer. DAYS has gotta re-cast. Maybe we'll end up with Kyle Brandt back in the role. He'd be better than a newby.

The DAYS we all knew and loved is gone forever, but hopefully these budget cuts can make the show more focused and they can work around them.

I don't think the canvas really needs Phillip, the character has been directionless for a good year now. I say, instead of wasting money to pay for yet another actor, just write the character out.

I bet that Brad Bell hires JKJ very soon, B&B desperately needs more new men, JKJ would make a good Deacon recast, I'm salivating over his potential chemistry with Ashley Jones or Lesli Kay!

Philip was directionless because Dena didn't know what to do with him. Now it seems like they were gonna go forward with Stephanie/Philip. If they write Philip out, Steph will probably go back to Max. Yuck.

I say trust Marnie Saitta to find a good young actor who's also good looking to satisfy Gary Tomlin.

Re-reading the SOD item, isn't Jay's contract up in December (Philip first aired in mid Jan 07), so how come he already cleaned out his dressing room?

I have to say though, Days was right to ask their actor to take a pay cut. I respect JKJ's unwillingness to accept one, but the show's realities are the show's realities. Times are tough. It should have been a flat x% salary cut across the board from Diedre Hall on down to the kid who plays Theo. That would have been fair.

JKJ is about 15 years to young to play Deacon, but truly I think he would be a great Thomas Forrester, and the Bells don't mind shelling out the money. Either way, if he stays with soaps, it will be either B&B or GH; they love those DAYS actors.
