THE COLBYS

Maybe that would have been a better option. IMO she was was wasted on Dynasty.

Anyway, I'm currently watching 2x10, and it's true that The Colbys are slightly more entertaining this season than Dynasty 7.

I find Frankie And Bliss to be just as boring (if not more) than in Season 1. You can find mistakes in several other characters, but it's entertaining, I suppose. I'll see how the rest of the season turns out.

I rently bought the series on DVD (after the price dropped) and have been enjoying reliving all the 80's camp. Kim Morgan Green is hilarious as campy Channing. I just finished the episode where she lies about having children from a botched abortion and is taking birth control pills. Her 80's perm was dry and brittle and I kept waiting for chunks of hair to come out every time Miles touched her. Shanna Reed (what ever happened to her ?) has made her appearance as Adrienne Cassidy. Sable has found out Fallon's baby might be Miles after he raped her. It seems every male character in Dynasty and The Colbys has committed rape like it's no big deal.

Yes, yes and yes!!! I also hate how it's a complete non-issue most of the times. I do recall Blake telling off Adam for raping Kirby and later, in the otherwise horrendously written (but quite fun in a campy way) season six, acknowleding that he raped Krystle.... to Rita.

Kathleen Beller actually joked about that with the reunion saying something like "why would Kirby want to be with her rapist?" - even the actors knew how ridiculous that whole thing was. Even Heather Locklear, possibly the nicest actress alive, wondered if Sammy Jo was on acid...

LOL....Exactly. I remember a lot of the actors referred to it as "static acting" where everyone was instructed to camp it up. DRW50 Thank you for uploading those clips.

There was so many miscastings with The Colbys (and Dynasty).

Tracy Scoggins should have been Fallon and Emma should have been Monica.

Katherine Ross was wrong for the role of Frankie. I remember reading that Kate O'Mara (Caress) was supposed to of been Frankie. The lack of an english accent on Frankie was bizarre.

Charlton Heston looks constipated and confused playing Jason. Another actor would have been better cast.

Maxwell Caufield was horrible as Miles. I would have cast Jon Erik Hexum if he had not of died.

The character of Bliss was a dud like Amanda on Dynasty. If they wanted to do soemething with her, they should have casted someone Sela Ward if they insisted on Tracy being Monica.

Michael Parks was an odd choice as Philip. Philip was also an off the wall character.

    • The writers need to stop writing Nick/Sharon as forever young and beautiful star-crossed lovers and write them as the middle aged adults with grown children that they are.
    • Yes. He was asleep in the living room, over in the chair that is sideways to the room, but faces it & he had one of his bad dreams in the exact same way as always & as always it woke him up. Is that a thing? Are there bad dreams that for some reason always wake you?
    • Just happy to see the Pointer Sisters getting their flowers again, thanks to GTA 6.

    • Yeah, I was fickle. I abandoned baby watch & just tried to think of really well matched pairings. Yeah, they sent Carter & Thomasina away far too soon for my way of looking at things.  I REALLY liked them & they were rare being both young & African Americans.
    • My watching in that time period was sketchy.  After high school, I didn't have a TV.  I would watch in the dormitory common room  my first year away from home, but then after that I lived in a rental with housemates who didn't want TV.  I think I caught up on the soaps during school(univ) vacations, when visiting my sister's house.  And then many many years later on soapnet?  Not sure. I had no idea that Jeff ever tried suicide. Reading just now is the first I ever heard of that. Interesting. I will agree that Monica wanted Jeff out of the way so she could be with Rick, but she would have wanted him gone emotionally.  But I don't remember watching Jeff having any medical issues, so I don't know if she would have wanted him dead.
    • Didn't he have a nightmare last week?
    • Nothing about Joss ever works. I can't blame them for trying a completely fresh approach for her, but she needs to be written out.
    • Thanks @Paul Raven  Some of this sounds strong but it's all so heavy and some elements, like with Felicia and Charles, almost veer on parody. L&L seemed to always be a heavy show - did they ever even have comic relief moments? - but I do wonder if it all became too much for viewers.
    • It's a joke. If there's a way to put Joss into a WSB spy story that works, I haven't seen it. What they're doing is just ridiculous. Imagine trusting a huge operation to someone who "finished training" a month ago. I think they're trying to make this work by having a college-age agent be a part of the professor's class, etc. It might look acceptable on paper, but it doesn't work when you see it.
    • Monday, after the party, Leslie showed up at the Duprees. Martin was with everyone as they listened to her for a bit. Then Martin said he was needed at home.  Anita and Vernon knew he was upset and they were concerned. Vernon asked "Do you need Titus, or are you okay to drive?"  Martin said he was okay and left to drive himself home. Either Titus is a chauffeur or just some helpful all-around employee.
