Kristen, Vivian - yes

Carrie Austin - no

LOL Tony is still on the show? :) At least Reilly used Tony....er...Andre. It seems like Dena doesn't know what to do with him. Either use him, or get him off your payroll.

Folks, there is no "second wind" where JER is concerned. The man has a finite bag of tricks which he'd exhausted by 1997 and has been rinsing/repeating ever since. I also disagree that DAYS has been no better since he left. The storylines still suck but at least the show has been purged of his dreadful stylistic traits (constant flashbacks, fake cliffhangers, days that last 40 episodes etc.).

Now we know things are bad when we want Reilly back..but hey, I would watch days again if they gave Celeste back her crystal ball so she can scream...."Oh NO!!NO!!NO!! EVIL has come to Salem!!!"

Hell, its so bad at GL I would weclome him there....maybe I would start watching if we find out Reva was really impregnated by an alien, Jeffie is really an alive and well Bradon Spaulding who found a youth serum in the tropics (and its wearing off as you can see by the lines and wrinkles) and he needs the heart of Rafe to retain his fadeing youth, and that clone Dolly is now a zombie who crawled her way out of the grave at Cross Creek, (after eating a couple of the vets at the new hospital in its place) and is heading back to Springfield for a little revenge.

GL is not GL anymore but at least Reilly could make it BAD and ENTERTAINING then just plain BAD!

As long as the show doesn't turn into a bunch of quadrangles and characters in isolated stories, i would be okay with this..I do think part of the reason JER"s last stint didn't go over so well was because he was writing two soaps at the time...

It's simple. Higley's writing is just boring, not interesting, nothing really happening. Reilly gives you a master class in Why People Think Of Soaps As A Joke 101.

That is still far, far better to die off to than to struggle and choke on the vomit of the stuff that Reilly has produced in the last decade or so. The constant bait-and-switches, the "Hey, we don't have any respect for our viewers, so we'll show flashbacks to YESTERDAY's show a few times!", the ridiculous bull like the possession, New Salem, the serial killer stuff, etc.

The solution is to bring fresh, new writers in to stir things up. They should find someone who was a fan of Days and who has a solid vision of where the show should go and what they want to do with it.

Reilly is the wrong way to go. It'd be like fixing a wound by taking a hatchet to it, rather than giving it to a few talented surgeons who can fix it up well enough so that there's no noticeable scarring.

I don't want Reilly back at Days. I will stick with a soap with most any writer except Reilly. I wasn't thrilled with Reilly's first time at Days and despised his second time (and eventually quit watching during that time) so I hope he's not given a third time at Days.

    • Oooooooooooooo a Jazmen script off of a Sara Bibel breakdown.    I'm intrigued. Lol. Yeah, one thing I can say for sure...when SilkPress is about to have a crazy moment, they do give her music.
    • I am so happy now. Reminds me of the 80s show I loved. Ron really did the cast and fans dirty. The only people complaining are those who only knew Ron and his whiplash plot driven stories
    • 1985/86 wrapped up during the weeks of May 12-18, 1986 and May 19-25, 1986. Here's how the sophomore slaughterer, sophomore surprise, and the four soaps wrapped up the season. The Cosby Show - Denise's Decision (season 2 finale, May 15, rating 31.8, #1): Denise's decision about what college she will attend becomes complicated when Cliff and his father give their advice. Dallas - Blast from the Past (season 9 finale, May 16, rating 24.9, 3rd): The joy surrounding Pam and Mark's wedding day fades as J.R.'s attempt to outwit Angelica puts Jack and Sue Ellen in danger. Pam awakens to a surprise in her shower. Murder, She Wrote - If the Frame Fits (season 2 finale, May 18, rating 21.7, 6th): Jessica is spending her holidays with an old friend, Lloyd Marcus. His daughter is found murdered in her house and her husband Donald becomes the prime suspect. Dynasty - The Triple-Cross (May 14, rating 20.5, 9th): Ben gains control of the contracts in the South China Sea after tarnishing Blake's reputation. Steven is stopped in his attempt to reveal Adam's secret. Sammy Jo and Clay have a romantic evening. Knots Landing - The Longest Night (season 7 finale, May 15, rating 20.0, 10th): Karen vanishes after closing Lotus Point. Val sees Cathy and Ben together. Tipsy Peter visits Abby. Gary finds Val on the beach. Falcon Crest - Captive Hearts (May 16, rating 18.8, 12th): Chase is shot during Maggie's escape. Angela sends Lance to break up Melissa and Eric. Jordan is arrested. Emma advises Li-Ying. Dynasty - The Vendetta (season 6 finale, May 21): Alexis plans the ultimate revenge on Blake. Claudia is trapped behind the flames when she sets her room on fire. Sammy Jo and Amanda fight for Clay's attention. Blake learns about Ben's acquisition. Falcon Crest - The Cataclysm (season 5 finale, May 22): Chase fights for life. Jeff takes Greg and Jordan hostage. A huge earthquake strikes.
    • Source for this? Especially since Benz was already on AMC as Linda Connor.

    • @soapfan770 1995/96 to 1999/2000 were not very good in primetime. CBS and ABC both had primetime mess eras, and that's how NBC got away with their Thursday garbage shows finishing in the Top 10. Remember too that ABC was sold to Disney in 1996.  As for ABC primetime mess era, it started with the Top 10 fallout of Roseanne and ended with the breakout success of Who Wants to be a Millionaire. Monday Night Football and Home Improvement pretty much kept ABC alive in that era.
    • This show is miles better under the new writers. It's really a condemnation of Carlivati, because he had the characters and history to write good soap. Instead, he turned it into a joke and a farce. I've heard some people says DAYS is now "too talky." Miss me with that stupid analysis.
    • I always wondered if Jackie wasn't going to be recast after being persumed dead... if Marland was going to pair Evie and Justin as a couple reunited in grief over Jackie's death. The one consistent thing I noticed about Evie during those months she was still on the show was that she was kind of a second mother to Phillip after Jackie's 'death' and Elizabeth no longer on the canvas.   But then one of the three interim writer teams decided to pair up Helena with Justin.. which left Evie even less to do than she had at the start of 1983. You're right that Evie was a unique character on the soap.  She was sweet and trusting, yet she had a quiet strength that made it difficult to push her around (at least when the Dobson's were writing her).  The Ben/Amanda/Eve triangle was an interesting triangle because neither of the women were evil... and Ben did have chemistry and a connection with both women.   It had a pretty decent run from 1978/9 to 1982 before Amanda was spun off into her mother's new marriage to Mark as the other woman.
