Whenever I see Jerry Lanning, I immediately think of that episode of "The Dick Van Dyke Show" that he guest-starred on, as some singer who was introducing a new dance called "the Twizzle."

Isn't Jerry the son of a well known actress?  Or at the least son of someone well known in show business?  I've read about it a few times, but can never seem to remember who the person's name.

Thank you for the response.  I guess his mother wasn't as famous as I thought she was.  Now, I'm not surprised I haven't been able to remember her name. I could almost say I've never heard of her.   But apparently I have.

I thought Jerry Lanning was awful on Texas; waaay too much scene chewing. His attempts to come off as intense were laughable and so artificial.
