The fact that Ke$ha wrote it made me excited to hear it, and i was not disappointed. So far both singles from the new album are better than anything on Circus.

Blackout will forever be her best album, by far.

Perhaps a flop compared to her former self, but not compared to current day standards.

I wonder why the Stargate/Sandy Vee song didn't make the main album, but made the Deluxe version. They've had a string of hit songs recently (and are responsible for keeping Rihanna's career going). As I mentioned in the producers thread, they do the type of commercial dance/pop music that doesn't always annoy me and isn't always interchangeable.

Rihanna's Only Girl and S&M, both Stargate/Sandy Vee songs, were both songs Britney could have done very well. That's the type of commercial fun dance/pop I wish she was doing again. I think it's more Sandy Vee's influence though, because Stargate weren't doing that kind of dance/pop before they started working with him.

Not bad, but it does sound like a Key-Dollar Sign-Ha song, especially the 'oooohh...ooooh....ohh....ohhh' and the stuttering.

I prefer Dr.Luke's pop/pop rock sound than is electro/dance sound. I was hoping to see Dr.Luke produce more pop for Britney electro/dance.

I hate when great songs are on the deluxe because it means the won't get released as singles. Like on the Circus album, "Quicksand" and "Trouble" are such awesome songs.

I love those songs from Rihanna. I can't get enough of Only Girl. I love the beat/dance to the song. It's burning my Ipod up....lol

I do too Toups.

As for 1. Till The World Ends (Produced by Dr. Luke, Max Martin and Billboard)....I love it!! It's miles better than her first single.

I am not Rihanna's biggest fan, but yes, those songs are great radio/dance-pop hits. They are nothing groundbreaking, but Rihanna's management and record label know how to market her singles, and they don't always sound the same or are a total carbon copy of each other.

Rihanna has had the most top 10 hits and #1 hits of any female artist since 2000. I think that's partly a testament to Stargate for keeping her singles relevant and radio friendly. Sandy Vee has definitely added to the Euro-pop feel of their recent stuff though, and I think it has been for the better.

I wonder why the Stargate/Sandy Vee song didn't make Britney's main album, but only the Deluxe edition. Maybe it was a last minute thing and just a filler song? I doubt it though. If she wanted to do fun dance/pop that's radio friendly and not so generic, she should have done more stuff with them, IMO.

Hold It Against Me was originally written for Katy Perry, and Till The World Ends was definitely something Ke$ha never got to record for herself...

Yes it is.

I don't think there has been a Rihanna song I havent liked. I agree..Britney should do more pop/dance hits like she did at the beginning of her career. Her new single does have Kesha writen all over it. She should count her lucky stars Kesha didnt get the song.

I cant see Katy singing Hold it Against me....lol

Rihanna has really crafted herself a nice, cozy corner in in the pop music market. She virtually has no competition right now in that edgier, dance, pop music right now.... I love alot of Rihanna songs. Like I mean in general she is obviously competing with Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, Kesha.... but she does have her own unique sound that sets her apart from all those others. Probably why whenever she does release a single, its a global hit. She has an amazing production team.

    • Thanks, msn drives me nuts on the one hand but on the other hand their headlines appeal to me. And, I just don't do FoxNews.
    • The link doesn't work.  The actual link is this: https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/us/composer-leonard-bernstein-s-children-request-his-music-be-played-in-the-kennedy-center-in-rebuke-to-trump/ar-AA1E7gw5 That's a reprint of a FoxNews article. MSN reprints stuff from many sources. You can tell the source from the logo above the headline on the msn page. The FoxNews article is describing what Leonard Bernstein's children wrote -- as a "letter to the editor" of the New York Times. Instead of reading it filtered through FoxNews, here is the original: "Our Dad, Leonard Bernstein, Would Want His Music Played at the Kennedy Center" https://www.nytimes.com/2025/05/02/opinion/kennedy-center-leonard-bernstein-protest.html Non-paywall archivedcopy of the same NYTimes letter, without commentary: https://archive.is/QaLqD
    • Might be a long shot, because I can't find a thing online about it, but I was Googling the actress that played Nell Cleary (Frank's cop friend that went through academy and then became cops together during the entire Brent Lawrence storyline). To my surprise, she passed away in 2011, at the very young age of 45. I can't find her obituary or anything online about her passing, but I'm curious, does anyone know what happened? Her IMDB only shows a few other acting gigs post-Guiding Light, so she didn't make a career out of it, but I thought she was a great actress in her role as Cleary. Her name was Mary Peterson.
    • What was Ruth Martin's association to the Thornton family?  I only remember the daughter that dated Tad, and she had a buxom mother.  But, did Ruth date David Thorton before Joe?

Why didn't Steve respect Monica and Jeff's decision?  I get he's Jeff's father, and that's how it came out, but I don't like the ethics of the story. A stranger gets to make life or death decisions over a wife's demands?   I hope Monica secretly never forgave Steve's chauvinism.
    • Question: Jon-Michael Reed's review of 1977 is up in the retro soap section.  It includes a fleeting reference to comedic scenes between Jeanne Cooper and Julianna McCarthy regarding “Kay's would-be beau, Ralph the Plumber”.  Could someone please fill me in will more details? I forgot that Kay and Liz were friendly before Jill stole Kay's husband.  And the thought of Liz playing a comedic scene blows my mind, because I only recall her being dour both in demeanor and wardrobe.
    • I said this on Twitter on Friday when Leslie mentioned Chicago, so perhaps she might be related to one of Anita's bandmates. In addition, Leslie did say she grew up listening to The Articulettes too.
    • There was a scene in the past week or two with Leslie looking at some papers and mementos, which included an invitation or souvenir from Alan's memorial service or funeral -- it was dated as November 2024. Me just guessing but it seems to me that Martin's nightmares about the accident are from something longer ago than November.
    • ah thanks! do you know who the third one was in the blonde? the fifth one i know ive seen before in the brown wig but i forgot, and then ive never seen the psychic one before lol
    • I felt for Ted early on but as the story unfolded it has changed my opinion on him. To know he was cheating while his wife was struggling to give him a baby is a lot to deal with. Plus, this happened ages ago and still he's paying Leslie off and threatening her to leave town.  What really caused me to lose him in this episode was how even though he was busted, he still refused to take responsibility and come clean and the way he talked to Martin and Eva was terrible. To tell Smitty he better get Martin away from him when that is his SON who he used to cover up his affair? That is true dog behavior. Ted seems upset he got caught but I'm not seeing the remorse I would need to want Nicole to forgive him. I'm curious how I'll feel after Ted gets to talk to Nicole but I need him to fix it with the rest of the family as well.
