John Stamos has, more than once, called her the one that got away. (They had a brief bicoastal romance back in the early 80s, when she was on EDGE and he was on GH - several years before they played husband and wife on Full House.) Didn't she also have a real-life relationship with her EDGE leading man, Mark Arnold?

Sadly, the performer known as Yahoo (who played Star Wilson Stoner on The Edge of Night) passed away earlier in 2017.

Obituary:

The sweet voice of Yahee Fernandes-Baxter, of New York, NY and LaSalle, ON, left us on Thursday, March 30, 2017, at Henry Ford Hospital, in Detroit, MI, after a brief battle with a rare cancer.
Yahee was born in Wareham, MA. She was the fifth of ten daughters of Arthur and Rose Fernandes of Marion, MA. In 1984, she married Gregory Baxter in Marion, MA, and had two sons, Whitney and Ryan.

In 1969, Yahee earned an Associate of Arts degree in Theatre and Voice, from Colby Junior College (now Colby-Sawyer College) in New London, NH. She then matriculated to Dartmouth College in Hanover, NH as one of the first 70 women admitted. While at Dartmouth, Yahee was the first female, African-American cheerleader and first woman to pledge a fraternity, Phoenix. When her area of study was discontinued, she transferred to Smith College in Northampton, MA, where, in 1972, she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre and Voice. Yahee later changed her major to English and Education and in 1973, Smith, granted her a Master of Arts in Teaching.

Show business was Yahee's vocational calling and so, she moved to New York, NY, to pursue her craft. She became an Entertainer – singing, dancing, and acting – and a member of all the performers unions – Screen Actors Guild (SAG), American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (AFTRA), and Actors Equity Association (AEA).
Yahee fell in love with Broadway, performing both "on" and "off" for many years in numerous shows, including: The Skin of our Teeth, Scapino, Salute to Broadway, Rockaway Boulevard, Gotta Dance, Divine Comedy, Myths of America Smith, Silver Queen, Ragtime Blues, Three Musketeers, La Gente, South Pacific, Storyville, Othello, Hollywood Heartbreak, The Brixton Recovery, and Starting Over Again. Yahee appeared in more than 150 television commercials and radio voiceovers, for brands such as: Budweiser, Dawn Dishwashing Liquid, Luvs Diapers, Ford, I Love New. Yahee originated, and played, for almost five years, the role of Star Stoner/Wilson on the long-running ABC network soap opera, The Edge of Night.

Yahee would leave the boards to become a full-time mom to her sons and to pursue her volunteerism and community activity. For over 20 years, she was deeply involved with Hunter College Campus Schools, where Whitney and Ryan both attended and graduated. She is a member of Jack & Jill of America., Inc. She was active in St. Andrews Anglican church, the Praise Band, LaSalle Community and the Oasis Women's choirs, Harbour Lights singers and community theatre with Theater Alive. Yahee has now brought her sweet voice to the Lord's choir.

Yahee is survived by her husband, Gregory, and her sons, Whitney and Ryan, all of New York, NY. She is also survived by her nine sisters and many, many cousins, nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews, largely in MA, FL, and CA.
In lieu of a funeral, the family is planning a celebration of Yahee's life that will reflect the bubbling, vivacious, full-of-life person that she was, and that all those who came in contact with her remember.
A memorial fund in Yahee's name at St. Andrews Anglican Church (519-734-7682), 205 Laurier Drive, LaSalle, ON N9J 1L5, has been established for those who wish to make a donation.

What though the radiance which was once so bright
Be now for ever taken from my sight,
Though nothing can bring back the hour
Of Splendor in the grass, of glory in the flower;
We will grieve not, rather find
Strength in what remains behind…
- William Wordsworth (1804)

@Nothin'ButAttitude it's always so nice of you to post these for fans. I usually end up seeing them around the same time you do so I tried to take over a bit while you were away. There used to be an EON fan here years ago who was a big fan of the Keith Whitney storyline. I haven't heard from them in a long time. I hope they are able to finally hear some of this.

It's nice to hear that Nancy was also written as an intelligent woman back then. A far cry on soaps now. Today she'd probably have her boobs falling out of her dress, on her seventh husband, drunk, maybe pregnant.

I vaguely remember the character of Mike Karr, when I watched the show as a wee youngster. He was played by Laurence Hugo, and seemed  to be a major character, who was always in the center of the action. I remember popping in on the show years later when Forrest Compton had the role, and his character seemed much less important. Am I remembering this right?

    • The thing that I am stuck on is that the in studio scenes in Egypt started airing in mid-October. It seems very strange that they would have planned to have a couple of weeks of studio scenes airing before they started showing location footage. Normally even though some scenes in a remote-infused storyline are in studio, they would start airing a mixture of studio and location footage at the same time. I suspect they had put Arizona in their back pocket well before the Achille Lauro (hence Hawk arriving in September) and possibly moved up the Egypt in-studio action so that the remote Arizona piece unfolded during November. The Achille Lauro may have been the final straw but I would bet it was not the first time they considered the risk. I have found one somewhat contemporaneous reference published on October 19th but pinned to an October 7th* "diary entry" mentioning that the location shoot in Egypt had been changed to Arizona. "International terrorism has its effect on daytime drama, too. Another World producers had scheduled an elaborate and expensive location shoot in Egypt this fall, But with the serious military attacks and hijackings going on, they decided to play it safe. They are going to Arizona instead. The cast members involved were disappointed but understood the decision." *Undated, but specified as the Monday before Melody Thomas's wedding to Ed Scott. But of course it's possible that the first draft referred to Egypt and was revised after October 7th to mention the cancellation before it went to press. But even making the decision the week of October 7th seems tight to get the Egypt scenes to air on the 17th/18th. I would love to find something from a daily news cycle that would be clearer about the dates.
    • So, Maxim, at this moment in time Evan is under the (mistaken) impression that, for no good reason, Rachel murdered his mother, in cold blood, and his ulterior motive for coming to Bay City is to get vengeance for this wrong that was done to his family & him.  Now, Rachel never murdered anyone. Janice had the knife on her & she pulled the knife on Rachel in the fight they were having. The reason they were fighting was because Janice had been poisoning Mac. So, this sets out the difference between the Frame family version of events & reality as the rest of us know it to be. Also no one in Bay City knows Evan is Janice's son. He goes by Evan Bates, not Frame.

Janice Frame is Evan's mother. Janice & Mac were together. Janice was up to no good. Mitch was helping her. She was slowly, little by little, every day, POISONING Mac. She was almost successful. In St. Croix, Rachel & Janice began what was literally a physical fight. They fell into the resort swimming pool, continuing to fight each other. Somehow, I guess Janice had it on her, there was a knife in play but Rachel kept Janice from stabbing her & got it away from her & they continued to struggle until Rachel stabbed Janice, which was a death blow. Mitch did a 180 & helped Rachel get Mac to the hospital. He was so weakened by the poison he could not even stand unassisted. It took both of them together to walk him to the hospital but it did save his life.  The St. Croix remote was SO beautiful, but so dangerous & scary. Also action-packed. Hooray! Maxim's backSo, I just got home & this is what I found waiting for me. I wrote this several hours ago. I guess I neglected to hit send.
    • Thanks @skylark and @DRW50!

    • I do not think I have ever agreed with Vee. Normally I do not read him, Ignore ya know. For some unknown reason I clicked to read. And I agree 1000%. Now, this is so odd that I need to go away for a bit.
    • Justine had a lot of hooey in it, but she was an actual woman, not a guy in drag. She was a doppelganger of Rachel, French, having had a past history with Carl, etc. Two of the more outrageous parts-Justine bricking alive Vicky into a wall & Justine grinding the gears driving a big rig.
    • Hehe, twi/x actually x, formerly Twitter. Typically I find 2 sources for "crazy fan rumors" - the wrong parts of FB and x. Oy.
    • Not to hijack the thread, but was that character Justine? I just found this interview online with Logan and see what you're talking about - wow!   http://www.anotherworldhomepage.com/chat85.html
