AMC : Kendall OUT?

Oh, I am sure Alvin is enjoying this thread as we speak.

I, am a Kendall fan, if not a Minshew fan, but I'm sorry to say, the writing is horrible. Right now, there is no where to go for the character and it seems to me she is doing nothing but running in circles. That is what happens when you are a HUGE integral part of the show who is featured practically all the time, if not everyday. This was how it was when Babe/Alexa was at the center of the canvas. Even Cameron/Ryan. They tried to make them the focal point of the show and people got annoyed after a millisecond.

I, too, think I need a Kendall break, if not a Zendall break.

Team Annie for sure! I loved Annie called Kendall on her hypocrisy. Annie was the one there for Kendall when she was going through her tough times. Annie was there when Greenlee was trying to ruin Kendall's life. And now because Kendall wants to make things up to Greenlee by having Ryan & Greens be together she's gonna turn on Annie?

I understand why Kendall is upset with Annie...she did try to pin Ritchie's murder on Zach but seriously.......

I am! :D

Kendall has become one of those cancer characters that eats a particular show alive. And I'm sorry, Minshew is not that strong of an actress to carry an entire show, she's mildly entertaining to watch, but she's not that great either.

You pretty much emphasized my point. Alexa was a great actress....could she carry a show on her own? NO! Cameron is a good actor....can he carry the weight of the show? NO! Can ANYONE on the show right now carry on the weight?

NO! If we rewind the tape about 15 years, then I can say that, but that gets old really quick.

If you could choose who the new Kendall would be (after about a 6 month break from the character) who would it be? And what would you do to the character?

How many times have people said "Well...the way the writers are writing Ryan isn't right" or "That's not how Greenlee would really act..." It never happens. Some characters are held accountable for their actions while others get to let the writers take the blame. It infested ATWT threads last year during the Carly/Jack/Katie mess. But the writers are making Carly do stupid things! Ugh, there's stupid Fluffy again...blah blah blah.

Well, then I better prepare myself, b/c Kendall is nothing but a spoiled rich girl...unless being a rich girl means growing up in a trailer park in Florida, then my neighbors are rich, too, and I don't know it.

Personally, I'd write Kendall and Zach out for a good couple of years. AMC has survived without her before, and they can survive without her again. Erika doesn't need to have her children around to carry storylines. I'd then try give the show a more ensemble feel again, I'd try to focus it on a variety of characters, not just six.

But if I had to recast Kendall, I'd go for a newcommer, I'd love to make Kendall the outsider and town pariah again, and have her fight for acceptance. They've written her in a way where she comes off as too holier than thou and acts as if she's some moral compass.

AMC does that with all their main females - Babe, Kendall, and Greenlee. Why the hell does Kendall think she's the best judge of what should become of Greenlee and Ryan's lives? She has no room to talk about Annie.

I have to admit, though, had Erica Kane had done this, which she has before, then I probably wouldn't be going, "Shut up, Kendall." Only b/c I expect it from Erica Kane, the actual main female of the show...who is not the main female anymore LOL

And why is Kendall wanting Greens and Ryan back together anyway? That's ass-backwards.

Zendall away for a while would do the show some good, I've been calling for that since last year. I don't really get any enjoyment out of them anymore unfortunately. The writing is to blame, but let the show revolve or focus on some of the other neglected characters. If Lish bolts I wonder what becomes of Thorsten/Zach?

Alicia Minshew assured fans on her message board that AMC is working with her just fine in regards to her contract. She seemed very confident with her negotiations, and stated that her only considerations were her schedule and vacation/honeymoon time to spend with her husband-to-be. She knows rumors have been floating around and wanted to reassure her fans she'd like to stick around for the right reasons.

Thanks Kane Fan, I'd just read that. Lish was PISSED cause of the false rumors, can't say I blame her. Nelson Branco is full of [!@#$%^&*], and this shows people shouldn't believe everything they read

Uh Adam they're already pretty much on back burner, they're just propping Rylee & Graidan. Neglected characters, yeah cause Zen are to blame for them being neglected? Riiiiiight. If the writers don't want to write for someone, they won't. It has NOTHING to do with any characters.

McTavish from what I read didn't like Aidan, so she didn't write for him, and no one was to blame for that but her

    • Glad you enjoyed watching. Yes, Michael seems like fun. I am always interested in more of these niche talk show appearances.
    • Thanks for the tag @DRW50
    • Upon reflection, I think you're right, their chilliness toward each other was more recent. She said women on the show in 1984 were not supportive and she still stays away from them. She seems friendly with Susan Hayes so Deidre is the only woman still around from those days, though I guess Kristian Alfonso and Leann Hunley could also qualify. And it might be someone long gone but who is still present in Suzanne's social circles.
    • I don't know.  The animosity seems to be more recent than the mid 80s.  When Maggie was a victim of the Salem Stalker i remember reading an interview with Suzanne where she said they aired the episode(s) surrounding Maggie death in a theatre and made a big deal about it.  Suzanne was very upset about being fired and Dee comforted her and said that they were making such a big deal about it because it was Suzanne/Maggie.  I cannot find the article but I will keep trying. That said Suzanne's comments on Soapy about how some of the female cast members treated her during her illness was disappointing to hear to say the least.
    • Anyway... Kristen should have a prison lesbian story arc. And then come out and become obsessed with Marlena so we can move her on from the Brady nonsense. Is that secret room still in the DiMera mansion?
    • Oh, wow... where can I find this interview?
    • I'm really liking Izaiah and Eva so far. And why can't I help but feel that something might happen to make Jessica stay in Fairmont Crest permanently?
    • So Pam didn't create her? I thought she had the whole of 87-88. I'll look around, thanks for the point in the right direction.

date: Tuesday, November 18, 2025 | Jamey Giddens, Danielle Paige | Steven Williford Samantha, accept the fact you were in the wrong and do not deserve your digital devices. Do not like it? Go upstairs. Read a book. Do some knitting. Bradley and Martin's "we get it" to Tyrell was hilarious and absolutely a parent's thing to do. Loving a bit of history of both the Duprees (via Eva) and the Hawthrones (via Izaiah). So cute. Poor June. I am sure she did not purposefully mean to mess up; we have all been there working in customer service. Shake it off and keep on keeping on! Not twice a week for Vernon's cobbler order... Sharon must be using that as payment for their meetings. I appreciate that Ted still cares about the Duprees despite the end of his marriage to Nicole. Not Dana using Peaches' crisis as a way of taking Ted's attention away from a co-worker. Girl, do not be so obvious. Bradley is a man after my own heart with a simply divine chocolate milkshake. That is the way to go. Dana really needs to dial it back. Money will not buy her everything she wants and she will realise it soon enough. And I doubt Shanice is scared off by her idle threats, either. "With all due respect, Ms Thomas, this isn't a shopping mall." Oh, Dr Wilkes just owned Dana's arrogant ass. I love it. Wigs and personas? Okay now, Shanice ate with that read. I like that June assured Bradley that she will not replace him or Martin in the twins' lives. And that blood does not make a parent. Words never rang more true. Jessica reading Samantha was amazing. Dana would want to involve Ted. Her obsession is crossing beyond dangerous boundaries. Not Dana catching Vernon leaving Sharon's room at the country club. That is not good. Not good at all! Notes: Ugh. Not another breakdown from writer2. This week was going so well. Thankfully, Paige is an outstanding scriptwriter (one of this soap's best), and her words today are excellent. The food at Orphey Gene's does look bomb, so I do not blame any of the characters for uptalking it. I would eat there daily if I could. And gain hundreds of pounds, too. David Lami Friebe (Izaiah) continues to make me sick watching him, but he is nice to listen to. I still really like having June as the central person hub at Orphey Gene's. That familiar face you see when you walk in and have scenes. Dana wanting a second opinion means we could have an incoming doctor, right...?
